    The Springfield XDM Elite is coming out with some tough competition already around. Will I be selling my Glock for a Springfield?!? I put the Springfield XDM Elite 9mm to the test on some steel and for accuracy to see how it stacks up compared to the other big dawgs available right now. I have a Glock 22 with lwd229th conversion,dual port compensator,Apex trigger,3.5# pull, poterd slide fully polished internals,agencyarms magwell,and trinicon hd3 night sights,I have 1700$ in it. The Springfield is the closest u can get to it out of the box. It's not better than my Glock rg22 but it's a third of the price. So no it's not a Glock but it's a great racegun. Runs flawless fast reloads and very very accurate. Great 700$ gun.

    Great video! I've got the elite 4.5 model, not the OSP. I'm a big Springfield kind of guy and have never regretted any of my XD purchases. I have medium size hand, that pineapple/grenade grip texture was a little too aggressive for me. I noticed my hand started hurting after 20 or so rounds. So I added talon grips and what a world of difference!

    I can adjust the grip to my smaller hands with the interchangable grip insert that comes in the box. That helps me shoot a larger firearm comfortably. I can tell in total darkness if there is a round in chamber or if the trigger is cocked. (At 2am those features are helpful.) It is easy to reload mags under stress because of the flared magwell. Great nightstand or truck gun.

      @@HuntShootLive So I'm a novice. I only armed up because of this social crap.
      I've never been opposed to guns but I never felt the need to have one.
      Now I do.
      This purchase was a mistake for me.
      The gun is nice and accurate but not for my needs.
      What I really need is an ambidextrous weapon for concealed carry that is dependable and uses ammo that is readily available.
      For a first gun purchase, I'll not complain.
      It took 5 business days to clear background checks which was surprising. I live in Georgia.
      Now that I know I'll clear background checks, is there a personal concealed gun that you would recommend where there is a balance on price for the weapon and ammo?

    • @HuntShootLive
      @HuntShootLive  Před 3 lety

      @John Swoveland For max conceal ability and accuracy for size, the Ruger LCP in .380 is my favorite. I carry it almost exclusively. The little thing is accurate, dependable, and .380 ammo is among the top available calibers most of the time. My personal second choice is the Glock 43. It’s a compact 9mm just a little bigger than the LCP but I can still carry in my pocket. It’s 9mm which is also usually available. Everything is hard to find right now though. Crazy times! Check out my channel. I have a lot of comparisons and reviews with the G43 and the LCP.

    I have the 4.5 elite. Is the 5.25 much larger length wise?

    • @HuntShootLive
      @HuntShootLive  Před 4 lety +1

      They 5.25 is basically identical to my Glock 34. I’m my opinion, there is no way I could comfortably conceal carry my 34. That 4.25/4.5 range is still in there where you could probably conceal carry a little easier if you really wanted to. So, there is not a huge difference in size but I believe it is right there at the point where the size really matters for intent. If you may want to carry, go 4.5. If you have zero intent to carry, go 5.25. They are both lights out accurate though. Thanks for watching!

    • @HuntShootLive
      @HuntShootLive  Před 4 lety +1

      Looks like the only real difference is in the magwell. 3.8 inch barrel option’s grip is 1.2 wide and 5.75 high with a “short” magwell. Precision 5.25 barrel is also 1.2 wide and 5.875 high with a “standard” magwell. So, they all would fit hands the same way. The barrel length is the primary difference in size.

    • @acerswift123

      Hunt Shoot Live awesome man, I’m subbing just off of the fact you responded so fast. One more thing, I’m a first time shooter and want something reliable and fucking bad ass. Would you choose the elite or mod.2?

    • @HuntShootLive
      @HuntShootLive  Před 4 lety

      Thanks for the sub! If you’re referring to the xdm version just prior to the elite, I personally shot the xdm better. Only barely though. It could just have been an random chance thing because I didn’t repeat testing multiple times. I wouldn’t be afraid to buy either. If you’re just asking regarding model barrel length, I would default to your intended use. If your not going to carry it, get the longer barrel. If you’re gonna carry, get the shorter. Please let me know if I’m not exactly answering your question!

    • @HuntShootLive
      @HuntShootLive  Před 4 lety +1

      I will add this too since you are a first time shooter. I’ve shot a lot of Springfield machines and I can honestly say I’ve not shot a bad one or even one I disliked. I would not be afraid to buy any or them. Just consider primary intended use. For carry, 4in barrel or less (hellcat is awesome option too). For shooting and no interest in carry, go with the 5.25”. Springfield makes some wicked machines!!!

      Hunt Shoot Live I appreciate that man . I might get the elite just for bragging rights 22 rounds 😓😅. That should be slot of fun at the range.
