For those who are confused as to what’s happening…
(Set seed speedrun)
- Nicked the cobweb just a tiny bit to cancel the fall damage
- Kills skele and pray to RNGJesus that you get a bow&arrow
- and finally, as someone mentioned, use the momentum from the dragon’s attack to fire the arrow, ending it in one shot

To those who had no idea how he defeated the ender dragon in one hit, he shot an arrow at it while the ender dragon knocked him giving him momentum and a more powerful shot.
Bro i knew that's what happened but had no idea the ender dragon hit gave you that much momentum holy
It follows an uncapped inverse square, so you can get almost infinite speed technically (if you stand in 0.00001m x 0.00001m area)
That's never been a thing that affects arrow damage, at least not in Java.
@@sirbibtonactually it has, its kind of a bug, but its the reason hes inside a hole. Its a tightly timed arrow shot, you can do more research though on the speed running technique.

For those who think the run is fake. It is a Set Seed Speed Run. He one shots the dragon due to a Knockback exploit that the arrows utilize. The portal also is Pre-lit because of this seed, since the portal is divided in 2 chunks. This is all legal and allowed in the Set Speed Category of Minecraft Speedruns.
what does the portal being divided by 2 chunks do?
@@paul-nj1ig If the portal is in 2 chunks then only the frame blocks in one of the chunks needs to be filled for the portal to be lit (it'll only be lit in that chunk).

how does the one-hit arrow thing work? i don’t really know much abt minecraft and I only got it recently
Arrow damage is based on the arrow’s velocity. When the player shoots an arrow, their velocity is transferred to the arrow. The dragon does a ton of knockback to the player. So, if you shoot the arrow right as you get hit by the dragon, all that velocity turns into enough damage to kill it. It’s a little more nuanced than that, but that’s the basic idea.

The only rng in this run is skeleton spawning, skeleton drops, and hitting the oneshot. It’s a fair amount of rng, but not enough to require manipulation.

the specific pillars of endstone is calculated to have the dragon converge into one point. In this case, 12.8% of dragon paths converge onto the corner making it possible

a bow's damage is based on the velocity of the arrow or something like that. when Yaki was hit by the dragon, he released the arrow shot at the same time, which made the arrow do an insane amount of damage. it's a recently discovered trick which makes set seed speedruns like these a lot more efficient

This seed was found a while ago and has had a bunch of runs done on it.
While you're technically correct, it's more of a result of a whole lot of seed searching than luck.

I remember back in 2018-2019 they just found a new seed in Set Seed that would lowered the time to like 5-4 minutes or so, and now we have a seed where you spawn right under a stronghold with a 12 eye lit end portal, crazy how much seedfinding has progress since the early days
This seed is actually rather old I believe, but was recently brought back when oneshot was discovered
