That sticky layer residue happens with every low Oder monomer. When I used the kupa low Oder monomer it did the same thing. I was so confused girl lol. I remember when I use it I’m like why the nails are still wet why this happened why that lol I left it only until the next day cause I never knew about that sticky layer thing lol the next day I’m like it’s still wet and the whole time it wasn’t never wet it was a sticky gummy layer lol. After several videos later I found out to wipe it off with alcohol and proceed to filing. And then I also found out to use less monomer on your brush. Not to use it like a traditional monomer if that make sense.
This is good into to know!! I normally use traditional monomer but that sticky layer was just so 🙄🙄🙄🙄

The set came out pretty!! I bought the same kit not knowing u couldn’t use it with anything else and it was all a big mess of stickiness lol 😂I thought it was the weather cuz it was super cold so I haven’t tried it again so thank you for making this video!!! Explains alot!!! Had I known I wouldn’t have bought it!!! 🫤

I tried the monomer with other acrylics. It works but takes FOREVER to cure.. I want to try adding a drop or 2 of acetone to the monomer and use different acrylic powder. Maybe it will speed up the curing process.
Yeah they say if you use it with other powders it won’t preform/dry the same which sucks. I may have to do that acetone trick to try and see how it works!
I do accept that there are scientific limitations to what can be done while maintaining “low odor.” I trust Young Nails did all that was scientifically possible to create a system that didn’t create a tacky layer. So I just dont think it’s chemically possible. I also know they would have made this monomer universal if they could have. I think I’m going to get some to try. I had to stop doing acrylic (I am a DIYer using this in my home) because I was concerned about the monomer odor with my pet frogs housed in the area I do my nails (small home). Not sure if it would harm them but I’m sure it would at the very least bother them. But I miss playing with acrylic.
YN prices are good. So although I have a hoard of acrylic products that are now collecting dust i might just need to give it a go.
I definitely recommend it! Even though it’s not universal you get a good amount of acrylics and you get a good variety of colors for the most part! I hear a lot of low odor acrylics leave that tacky layer but hopefully they can figure out a way to make it universal!
Have you tried the monomer with other powders? I’m always sceptical when a company says “only use this with our products “. Anyway, great job 🇦🇺❤️
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with their other powders only the ones in this kit
Some people said it was sticky while applying the acrylic. Is it that sticky?? Is the application the same as the regular system ?
It does leave a sticky/tacky layer! It does apply the same as their regular system, and you just need to file off that sticky layer. It’s not sticky while applying the acrylic, it just has a sticky residue after it’s hardened.

@@nailsbymaryelin I did it was very informative. I didn't order the system but I have a sample from my mystery box. I ordered some odorless from Suzy nail shop that can be used in any powder .
