Great. Covers all you need to know about using lace mats
You've done great you are my idol chef..
I made lace for my best friends birthday cake last year and the lace dried out before I could get to use it. Since it was my first time making lace, and I'd put (almost literally) blood sweat and tears into making that lace, I used the steamer I use to set the color on gumpaste flowers to steam the lace. Since I also didn't know about the trick of mixing the color powder with alcohol, I used a dry brush and brushed the color the way you color flowers (I learned a lot making that cake! LOL) As a result, not only did I rehydrate the lace, I set the color on it as well. If you'd made this video a year ago, I sure would have loved having your expertise, but I wouldn't have learned as much! I love your lace, and especially putting the ribbon on the cake behind the lace! I saw where you had the lace in the ziplock bag, could I wrap my lace in parchment paper before storing it in the plastic bag?
Yes, you can wrap it in parchment paper, waxed paper or acetate film.
So, steaming the lace also works?
So beautiful I love the way you explain it
As always ultra detailed and great tips. Love your teaching techniques and advices because not always is easy. Complications are possible. Thank you very much for your teaching.

Wow Alan!you are the best!Saluti from Milano Italy🖒
Thank you Leydis!
You make it look so easy! I've tried cake lace before, without great success in the oven (It did great drying overnight) Maybe I just need to try your brand Ha! Thanks Chef. Love your vids.
Every this Chef Alan sells is great, I'd highly recommend using his brand. I've had the same luck as you with other brands.
I know right? The problem is that I really need it to dry in the oven. Waiting overnight it's not realistic, unless you make lace every evening for a month for future projects LOL. BTW I'm a subscriber to your channel :D

Hi
You're great. I missed you
Alan, I watch this often. Just wondering, I am a chocolatier and use the airbrush and colored cocoa butter as well as transfer sheets. Any recommendations for using lace on chocolates?
Great idea but I really do not have any experience using lace on chocolate pieces. It should work though!
I really love it 💘 if I need your products how my buy them
Chef Alan, I am decorating a wedding cake but not making it. It will be finished in a crusting buttercream and the bride has requested lace and sugar flowers…all of which I have made. In researching lace and buttercream I came across your wonderful tutorial. My dilemma is that the buttercream will probably have crusted before I receive the cake. Is there any way to attach this lace? Or do I need to recreate it in royal icing? I was thinking maybe using buttercream in dots on the back of the lace as “glue” might work. What are your thoughts please? Deb (aka grandma of the groom)
Great
Please I would like to learn more on the sugar arts so how will I get notes on the recipes
GRACIAS FELICITACIONES UNA BELLEZA, DIOS LO BENDIGA.. VEO POCO Y NADA PERO SOY ATREVIDA Y SIEMPRE INTENTO HACER COSAS : CUADROS TORTAS, ETC.
I made some of this using your product, and soooooo easy to make! Thank you. BUT....I always buttercream my cakes.....so can I use this on it, and how long can it last?
Did you ever try it on buttercream? This was my same question.
Just asking chef,it is eatable the lace of the cake?
Can you use a rolling pin to remove the larger lace, your so talented thank you
Thank you Denise. I sometimes do use a large rollling pin and gently roll the fabric out of the mat. It only works on some designs. On really intricate designs it tends to rip them.
Beautiful!!! Is it edible? If so, how's the texture in the mouth when eating?
