How is that not a foul on the 2nd goal? If that's not a foul, I'm telling one of my players to push the keeper into their own net on every. single. corner.
I get it, maybe not completely unbiased as a Michigan fan. But it seems like she went into the net on her own to try to block that from entering the net, there's a litlte contact, but no one knocked her over. I would say no foul, certainly wouldn't be in men's or EPL. Not sure if women's rules are different, as contact may be considered different between the two sports. That little contact is allowed, people have to have space to move.
Complete outsider (and football player) from another country here. There's no way that corner's not a foul on the keeper. The number 15... One of the biggest opponent players purposefully moves in front of her like a preplanned move... doesn't jump or look to score... shows little interest in doing anything except impeding her movement toward the ball... puts her arm out to prevent the keeper from getting into the air in the right area... and then even pushes her into the goal area. It's basic reffing 101: you've got to give the Goalie some protection... or every corner in football will have players "accidentally" banging into keepers.
The one thing the keeper did do badly... was she didn't seem to know how to sell a foul. She was too concerned and caught up in the moment... Should've have made the situation very clear to the ref by causing a fight and aggressively acting out even maybe even before the ball got kicked! The ref would then have kept their eye on the situation.
Woman referee, clearly a foul. Shes way out of position, side judges are useless also. NC got screwed.

Hard to be proud of this one. Intentionally foul the keeper inside the goal area so she has no chance to play the ball. Professional foul.

That's prolly how they drew it up. Have the team goon knock the goalie halfway into the net first.

She made some good saves.with that many shots in the box, the keeper has to have some help.
That tying corner kick goal by UCLA was very close to being a goal on its own, really impressive kick and with the right foot.
I'd say it was a goal. If she doesn't head it, it was still going in.
The problem I have with it is that the goal keeper was clearly fouled by UCLA but not called.

@@davelatourette9604 I agree, the goalkeeper is supposed to have unimpeded access to the ball, she was screened out by a UCLA player which should have been called as a foul. Do they have VAR for these games?

People saying that was a foul on the keeper never played collegiate soccer. There was contact, but not nearly enough and the fact that she’s able to jump and try to make a play is what the ref will see.

That second goal looked like the keeper was pushed by the ucla player into the net but with everyone pushing and shoving and at full speed I could see the ref not making that call everyone was basically pushing off the ball just happened to bounced ucla’s way

Foul on the keeper for the 2nd goal, but leading up to it some of their defending was brutal, headed clearances back into the box instead of away from danger, weak footed clearances to the edge of the box, put your foot through it and bury it into touch. Sad to see a team capitulate like that but credit to UCLA for keeping the pressure on. Superb saves from the Tarheels keeper.

I don’t know much about soccer but I’m glad that what I thought was a foul on that corner others are agreeing. 15 must play basketball too because that was a textbook block out.

I thought so initially bit from the following angle you can see the goalie pushing off to get leverage to try to make the save. She left her feet voluntarily.

Here is what happened - NC was lazy and not going to the ball on corners and crosses. Even when the ball was just in play NC stopped running to the ball expecting it to just come right to them. At the end UCLA had all the momentum and made the most of it. Two of those goals were “hustle” goals. Girls just running to the ball to finish. Not taking anything away from either team. Great match!

That second goal had to be a foul. There’s no way a player can impede the path of the goalie that much without getting a foul called. A championship was stolen honestly because of cheating. Call it whatever you want but it was intentional cheating by the player that didn’t go punished. That’s a horrible way to lose a game for UNC

@@AlexanderFaker there is nothing there that could be even remotely described as cheating. Being aggressive in that situation is what you would expect from passionate players. It is up to the referee to make that judgment call. There wasn't much contact anyways, the goalie pushed off trying to get leverage to elevate for the corner ball she wasn't pushed over. I hate womens soccer, they all probably got together to stop on the flag when they were done with the game. But regardless, that was a clear foul on the goaling. NC should have won 2-1. What do you expect from a full womens officiating crew in a big game. Ref's choked.

Credit to UCLA, but honestly UNC’s track record of blowing leads in championships is becoming rather large. Usually in basketball, but it’s good to see they’re spreading the disappointment throughout the other sports programs.

Does everyone not know that the clock stops when a goal is scored? Everyone snatching at the ball after that first goal is just funny. Like, the clock is literally stopped in college play, but everyone acting like they watch the pros do.
It’s probably a habit. Everywhere else in the world the clock goes up and doesn’t stop. Only on US college soccer does it go down and stop. One of the many stupid things regarding college soccer.
It's actually taught. It's momentum. You've got a team on their heels. If you're behind, the last thing you want is to take your time celebrating and allowing the leading team to reorganize

I like UCLA, but that second goal is an obvious foul. The keeper can't be touched inside box, the UCLA player is on her way, an obvious obstruction. She is being held down by the other player. Good effort, but it should've not counted.

That's a foul on #15 for UCLA pushing the keeper over. Awesome corner kick, but definitely a foul on UCLA there.
Clearly. One that was missed. Usually you'd expect a ref to be watching obstruction or a push on the keeper very closely. A very deliberate set piece meant as a hail Mary at the end of the game. And it worked (since it was missed).
Whatever happened to that student who faked her way onto the UCLA soccer team? She was some horse-riding event kid (well, really an adult at 18), and she wrote into her UCLA application that she was the captain of her high school soccer team. Did she even get a degree from UCLA?
The corner kick was just pure class and would have went in on its own… but you can’t just throw the goalie into the back of the net… she had no chance to make a play. VAR coming to ncaa after that.
How can you say the ball would have gone in on its own. The goalkeeper didn’t reach it Because she Is being moved back into the goal. She did Not fall on her own, she is being Pushed back. Look at her position as the play starts she is out of goal leaning out and is interfered with physically moved back to the point of being knock over. How can ref stop play to see if it was a goal later after that, but not to see if goalkeeper was fouled allowing a goal?

I don't know how or why the ref did not call a foul but the UCLA player basically pushed the keeper off balance and out of the play on the corner kick just before time expired. UNC should have won. The championship is tainted. Maybe the ref just was not watching.
Totally agree, blatant foul, VAR has to come to Ncaa soccer after that. Although UNC shouldn’t have been in that scenario, obvious foul that shouldn’t be missed, especially with 30 seconds left, you’d think the ref should watch for that.
