    Great video. That helped me heaps to make a decision. I think I’m going to buy the camera and solar panel. Thank you.

    Talk about the email notification upon motion detection? How is image or video sent to email? How long is video (or is it picture attachment only)?

    Great video, thank you for looking into this! I have 2 questions if it's not too late. 1) can I record the h264/5 feed independently of the Reolink apps. i.e. onto my own LAN server? 2) at night can you look at a live feed even if the PIR sensor has not triggered, i.e. could I force the camera to activate and show an image/video feed to see if my gate is closed or open?

    Hi, just installed mine today, I have a car port which also has a motion sensor to turn on the outside lights if there is movement, my camera is around 20cm from the sensor. What is a mystery is when I view the camera from my phone my outside lights turn on!, yep (obviously only at night). I am wondering if there is some signal / beam from the camera what the motion sensor see's and activates the lights.. strange I know.
    Like the vid btw

      Wembley Funny you mention that, I have noticed the same thing with some of my cameras that are close to my outdoor floodlights. And it’s not just the Reolink brand, it happens with some of my other cameras too.

      @@overclockersclub It's not an issue for me, it's actually extra security in a strange way as when I'm checking the cam at night the lights turn on, keeping them thieving gits at bay hopefully.

      Well I know that the router name has to be exact. If you have 2.4 and 5GHz on your network, you need to make sure you are selecting the 2.4.

    Can the camera record continuously and not just while there is movement?
    Is it possible to connect the camera to electricity in addition to the battery?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  Před 3 lety

      Battery powered cameras are generally not designed to record continuously. You can hook it up to a regular wall adapter, like you are charging the battery but just leave it plugged in all the time. Really though, there are other cameras from Reolink that are much better suited for recording continuously. I really like Lumus and the 511W.

    How long does 1 charging go for? Great vid BTW.

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  Před 5 lety +1

      It really depends on how often the camera is triggered. If you have it in an area that has a lot of traffic (people, animals, etc.) then the battery will be used faster. If it is somewhere that is quiet (not much action) then you will get a much longer time on the battery. So I would go with the solar panel if possible.

    Do you have many false alerts or it is very accurate?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  Před 4 lety +1

      That is hard to answer because there are many variables and every situation is different. You have to play with the settings to find the sweet spot between false positives and missing legitimate activity - and this is true with many cameras. For example: the settings for an area with a lot of people or car traffic will be different than aiming it at your front door.

    is it monthly fee? if you wish to use the app on android, or the computer?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  Před 4 lety

      There is a free plan that covers only one camera / 7 days / 1GB. Then there are plans that cover more cameras with more storage for different fees. Check out the Reolink website for details. Look for the "Cloud" drop down menu - and then scroll down.
      There is an Android app and a PC app. I use them both. Go to Support / Download Center.
