I use two as nightstand lights and one is at my workbench/computer desk. I love them. They have features I dont care about (Id be fine with "color mode" just being Red), but I EDC Olights and they work as charging bases, they are fine as stationary night/reading lights, and, as with most olight flashlights, that mag base on the top light has seen more use than I thought it would after I got into the habit of reaching for it in the right situations.
That said, you were on point with the whole review, cons included, and I would not suggest it to anyone that doesn't have $100 to toss at something.

I have a few Olight’s and one of them is the lantern. I wanted a rechargeable lantern for my blackout/emp kit. I actually got my for half the price and the biggest problem with that light was pricing. Depending on the price I might have to purchase this one just because I could use a light around my bar area and the size would be perfect for traveling. Well done sir and Battalion!!!👍🍻🥃👊🏼🙏🇺🇸
That Olight has some interesting features, but I think they got way too clever with it and it kinda of became a jack of all trades master of none. There are better lanterns, better flashlights and better lamps - I have never wanted to cram all three into one device. It does a hallway decent job of lighting up that Battalion though!

Good honest review from the battalion leader! I usually love all olight products but I think the only way I would pick this up is if there was an extra good deal. Because 100$ seems a bit much for it. I would love to have one of those dysons though! When’s the give away on one of those! (Worth a shot)

That's a shame with such a plethora of decent to even great lights. I'm sure they will have another 2-3 versions of this come out with tweaks done to it. Keep up the good work man, everyone needs to join the battalion

The last lamp you showed, that's a desk lamp and beats the hell out of that olamp. I've got a $20 desk lamp from Amazon, has touch control, 8 different light levels, flexible neck that lets you put the light wherever you want it without moving it, and it doesn't suck the desktop. But I'll agree with you. I'd use it with my truck too, I'd back it over it. Thanks for the honest review.
This is my next upgrade is a good olight to my EDC. Happy to be new to the battalion.

Nice product for sure. It looks cool and the main reason to buy one is probably for its coolness factor. It's useful that it has a built in battery, for the small headlamp at the top and the main lamp, so you can use it elsewhere for a bit or if you have a power outage. Functionality wise, I would price this around $45-$50. For it to cost twice that price, you're practically paying for the coolness factor.

Thanks for this. I was going to buy this as a reading lamp for my chair in the middle of my room and no power accessible. Since it needs to be plugged in to be turned on, I'm out. Thats disappointing. Good review

I have watched way to many "content creators" gently cup the balls and love on any olight product. I can buy 15 lanterns for what is the cheapest one from them. AA batteries are amazing and available everywhere

Glad to stop by the Battalion for the Olamp review. I hope you note the winner here too since I don't have Instagram or discord. I did subscribe to see what else the Battalion has going on. ;-) I have the Nightour and like it. Of course it probably helps that I have other Olights that I can stick on the head such as the Obulb or Baton 3. I also find it odd that the head switch would no longer work if the unit is unplugged. That means if you lose power you won't be able to adjust the brightness level of the included head, but will only be able to pull it off and shake it twice to turn it on or off. I do like that you can grab the head and illuminate something, then stick it back on. I also found it lacking a feature that many LED desklamps have, a USB pass-through so that one can plug another USB device into the conveniently at hand desklamp/nightstand lamp. That would have increased its utility, say to charge one's ebook or phone. Possibly they did not include it because of the built-in battery, but whatever the reason, I do miss that feature.
Yeah I her you. It defiantly has some weird traits too it. For instance when you have turned on the top light to high and then unplug the lamp from the cable it dims down real low after a few minutia. Also try placing it on a smooth plastic coaster so you can more it around easier. It’s a very interesting light to say the least. ✌️😇✌️

As much as I like my other Olights, this one was a pass for me also. For the price, there are too many other options. For a desk, or bedside, I have a clamp-on gooseneck ring light that was only around $16 that has a couple of different color temperatures, and runs on a USB power source. Even as a flashlight collector, I did not feel any real interest. Perhaps other battalion members have specific uses for it.
Without a usb port on the lamp it’s useless in 2022.

Battalion! The lamp seems like a good idea on paper. The execution just isn't there.
Big Olight fan, but lately they’re introducing a bunch of gimmicky garbage like this lamp and the Obulb. If Battalion members stick with their core weapon lights and basic flashlights, you’ll be happy.
