- A look though a sketchbook from 2023 when I went and drew in Toulouse, France. The occasion was the annual French Urban Sketchers meet up. It was a great city to draw in and the event was really well organised.
The materials I used:
Stillman and Birn Beta sketchbook
Watercolours
White gouache
Tikky fine liner pens
White gel pen
I loved every single page, love how you painted water and used that black line- very clever and colours are perfect.

Thank you! Yes, I always have pages that are unfinished or don’t work out. I think that is the beauty of using a sketchbook, it doesn’t have to be perfect 🙂

Amazing sketches! I always look forward to your videos! One question: what brush do you use to make straight line? I find it very hard to make straight line with brushes…
Yes,I find it difficult when it comes to being precise with details. I often just use fine liners rather than a brush for lines. I have a couple of long thin brushes which are useful too.

Yes, I am going to Nantes so maybe we can draw together there? Probably best to message me nearer the time. The only workshops I have lined up so far are in Liverpool in September. I thought that I might try and adapt a workshop to share on CZcams too. Just thinking about how it would work 🙂
