Did you know this guyâs album Travelling Without Moving is still the best selling Funk album of all time? You should check it out
Hella funky!
Did you know that Jamiroquai is a band, not just one guy? You should check it out.
@@aabidamn
Did you know that he writes or co-writes everything and the original members of the band (musicians) have come and gone and are completely different now to how they startedâŠexcept for him whoâs always been there and is the one who controls who is in or who is out? You should check it out.
@@darkmatter6714 Anthony Kiedis and Flea are the only two original members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It must've meant that they're a duo like Mili & Vanili. All this time I thought that they were a band.
Thanks for the revelation, Mate. You've really opened my eyes.

The fact the room was moving and he was singing and dancing while simultaneously tracking the camera, room, and furniture in his head is just insane.
The message of this song was way ahead of its time. Jay just likes to wear big hats, I saw him live in 2011 and he rocked that stage for 3 hours straight... in a big hat
Jay also said years ago how much he hated this song because the lyrics meant nothing đ If he knew todays world back then, heâd maybe have a different take
â@@clemo86v24aaw man don't tell me that, i hope he changed his opinion, knowing that the author hates your favorite song hits hard đą
This was just as computer were becoming a more mainstream thing in homes, and more people were getting internet access.
The raven comes from gothic novels such as Edgar Allen Poe, itâs a symbol of death as the were always found in grave yards.Jay Kay is famous for his hats, he once called him self the twat in the hat, youâve got to love a man who makes fun of himself.seen him live a few times, amazing, he never stops moving.xx
"He has some soul in his system" YESSSS! React to Canned Heat or Little L please. Jamiroquai is one of my top bands of all time and they have a sound totally their own.
I thought jay was a light skin at first but I was super surprised to find out he was a British white dude.
Yes, the "room" is the thing moving on a crane type device, but the floor is separate and still. The camera is attached to the wall so it moves with the "room" and gives the appearance that its the floor that is sliding around đ
Greatest Acid Jazz group ever. Jay Kay amazing singer/performer as is the whole band!!
Not a J fan, but liking this song.
It's one of the most hypnotic videos I've ever seen.
His effortless moves makes it literally like he's prancing in the park - fabulous leg work.
How come not a fan? Is it just the genre?
the raven is probably a reference to the raven by edgar allen poe which is about hard acceptance similar to the song
Almost haven't listened to anything from Jamiroquai but this song is special and has followed me since my childhood :)
How they made the video? They pushed the room around in a studio set. So the walls actually move, but since the floor is a uniform color it feels like Jamiroquai, the furniture and other people are the ones moving. Probably why the last shot with blood running on the floor don't see any of that movement since it would break the illusion.
This was the jam back in the day! Always loved this song and video - so different. Check out his other songs: "Canned Heat" and "Space Cowboy".
The raven in this song means that death is near. Whenever you see a raven bird it means trouble is coming. So, the bird represents that our future looks bad if you let AI technology take over the world. This is the first song ever to call that way before it ever happened. This song is 27 years old from 1996. But, it is way ahead of its time.
Jay and Jamiroquai were way ahead of their time.
Another interesting video to check out is "Drop" by The Pharcyde. The entire video is played backwards.
Sometimes I feel this fantastic video means we arent concentrating on the lyrics.
The words... are a warning from the late 90s, and we are living it now from 2020 onwards...
I love your reaction, it gave me a big smile! Its a great song, it was an instant hit when it came out.
The room actually moves. The camera is in the wall. The footprints were digitally erased. This was explained in MTV, when it live up to the "music" part.
They moved the room around him on the floor yes.
This song is classic! Loved your reaction
Just found your channel thanks to the algorithm. Already a fan of your fun, cool personality. Can't wait for more reactions.
Subbed!
Dope energy!
Jay K is the mad notez!
From Joy to Joy⊠heâs amazing. Delve in and you wonât regret it.
LOVED your reaction, subbed. đŹđ§
Finally!!! A reactor who emphasizes the video being reacted to, rather than just putting up a tiny screen that diminishes the video in question. You are to be congratulated on your much superior format!!!!
You're my new favorite niece!
Check out a song by them called âblow your mind â
When I was a kid I used to imitate this video all day long, to limiting results lol
I think the Raven symbolises death which comes to us all.
Great reaction, nice to see someone digging deep to find out what the lyrics mean, new sub.
Cool reaction. You should check out their song Canned Heat - it is a straight fire dancefloor filler.
Great choice Jay Kay is uber talented and his band is super tight....love your reactionâ€
this VIDEO REACTION was so good I subscribed will definitely keep on checking ...GREAT CHOICE of video !!!
HAHA, you're so funny. Just found your channel :)
You should see them live in Verona. Amazing show in the pouring rain. It's up on YT somewhere.
Subbed just because of your beautiful personality
Hello, great reaction video! Also just to add a little information, @1:56 the people standing in the hallway was the other members from Jamiroquai...
Starting from the left-hand side is Toby Smith (rip) - Keyboards and Derrick McKenzie - Drums. Starting from the right-hand side is Stuart Zander - Bass, Simon Katz - Guitar and Wallis Buchanan - Didgeridoo
I fully apologize because I do not see Sola Akingbola - Percussion - in this particular scene.
I just subscribed to your channel and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos! Take care.
Nice reaction. The floor isnât moving though, the structure and camera are moving around Jay Kay and the furniture. Simple but effective illusion
This was released in 1996, have a listen/react to âwhen you gonna learn?â released in 1992. Another strong message that is more relevant today and will always be relevant. One of the first U.K. white artists to be played on BET in America
Every time the camera pans to the floor or the ceiling, that's where they disguise the edits; the creatures in those shots are computer generated.
So how is it possible for 1 couch to appear to move independently of the other if the structure is the one that moves?
@@alexs1640 In some shots, the couches were hooked onto the walls; at strategic moments, the crew unhooked them from behind the walls, so that they appeared to move around in the same fashion that Jay seemed to be moving when in fact they're both standing still.
Please react to âCanned Heatâ, by him âJamiroquaiâ, đ
Prophetic
I think I understand how they achieved the "moving furniture" effect of this video.
It's not the furnitures that are moving, it's the whole room that is but since the camera is always in the same spot it create the illusion that the chairs and sofas are moving and all.
How about the rotating sofa ? Simple, the room is also rotating and the sofa isn't moving, all Jay Kay have to do is move around to avoid bumping into objects or walls.
How about the chairs that sometimes move and sometimes don't ? If you pay attention, the ones that are not moving are often against a wall, I think they simple keep them stuck to the wall until it's their time to move.
EDIT: I looked up how they did it and I was right, the whole sets were moving and the furnitures that weren't were bolted to the walls of the set. This effect is obviously greatly helped by the perfectly smooth and monochromatic floor and the late 90's camera video quality.

Another good reaction - Luv. I am going to watch all of your enjoyable reactions. Finally, Luv, you should react to Erykah Badu Tyrone { live, extended version} - you will love the tune!
The first time I heard the song it was just audio, no visual. When I saw the video for the first time, I couldn't believe it was a scrawny white guy from the UK. He has so much soul and rhythm . . . very cool. But then again, the UK has a really interesting and diverse music scene that isn't nearly as pigeon-holed and stratified as it is in the US. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Insanity)
love this tune. I think it was filmed in an airplane hanger with moving walls.
Hat is his trade mark, that's the Poe's raven, the walls are mental hospital's isolation room like
epicc
Awesome đ
You got my subscribtion babeđđ
Funny enough Whitey is capable of singing and dancing sometimes contrary to popular believe.
word
One of the many racist tropes that still hang around it isn't "white supremacists" something I believe is a bit of a red herring. Racism is a shit sandwich and everyone must take A bite.
And rearranging furniture
I've been a jamiroquai fan for 30 years. So much do, I have 2 jamiroquai tattoos. Please could you review cosmic girl, canned heat, little L, love foolosphy all great songs xxxx
When the video was released MTV also played the making of....
Dose Girl react to Jamiroquai's club bounce called "Alright". You will go crazy dancing to that song. Facts !!!

WalkingâŠ
Rearranging furnitureâŠ
ALL Jamiroquai is good! Some of it is more experimental than others but it's all good. No lie. Great dance/jam music!!!
His name is Jay Kaye â
Nice job Joy.
Check out Jarle Bernhoft if you want to hear another funky white dude. "No us, no them" with Jill Scott is nothing short of fabulous.
There's also Gino Vanelli if you're looking for old time vibes. Plus Hall and Oates and Michael McDonald, of course.
He used a room full of hydraulics which basically allowed every single thing to move freely and independently.
There is a "Making Of" video and the way they done it was simple but tedious. The floor is not moving the furniture when stationary were anchored and they just move the walls around J. When the furniture had to appear to move, then the bolts came off. The camera was fixed to the frame of the 4th wall.
Much easier than building a moving floor as the furniture would still need to be bolted to the wall.
I'm not doing it justice so see if the video is online.
They achieved the effect for this video by moving the structure around him on the floor to give the illusion that the floor was moving, a lot of coordination.
How Justin Timberlake hasn't done a cover or a collaboration with Jamiroquai baffles me.
If it relates to Edgar Allan Poe, then it's probably the line "Quoth the Raven, nevermore" from the poem, oddly called "The Raven". LOL
Isn't this the bestâ€
Hola saludos desde chileeee!đšđ±đšđ± me caiste bien!!9.
Spoiler, the floor was moving. EDIT WRONG! Everything BUT the floor moves! All these years, damn!
Anyway, beautiful jazz chords, get them out and have a go. I thought this was a Stevie track when I first heard it.
Your channel is very clever, love the chat show setting.
The walls are moving
@@NakedPigeon Not the floor?
@@NakedPigeon There are dots that don't move on the wall so I will stick with the floor. Google required.
@@NakedPigeon 100% correct. Everything BUT the floor is moving, I kinda got that one wrong!
Jamiroquai - Feels Just Like It Should
Please react to more Jamiroquai. I think theyâre getting a little resurgence in the US, perhaps from TikTok. Iâd recommend âLittle Lâ and âHigh Timesâ.
Great đ
Saw them in Philly in mid/ late 90's. Jay got pissed off at his own band and the show ended a little early. At the time they were considered more pop in the US. Maybe late grunge stage being the context was hard, and I wonder how much the Spice Girls, breaking at the same time, lumped Jamiroquai in with the US audience. They put on a great show and this video is so clever and so good.
This is so 90's as someone who was a teenager then ( some of it makes me cringe, some of it I wish we'd kept). The blue and white overall colour (minimalism design was a thing, big thing HUGE thing - and those colours became a big part of it ). The fact that the video was shot with like 3 couches , JQ himself, and a big convyer belt floor that could move in multiple directions and some concrete blocks. It's that 'less is more' mentality of the 90s. ( after the 'greed is good' and 'neon is the new everything' 80's.)
cool
I used to live down the road from him. Wow did he own a bunch of expensive sports cars!
Thatâs over 25 years old . Does Upside Down with Diana Ross , Too young to Die , My Corner of the Earth . Heâs telling you weâre gonna being leaving underground. Heâs part Native American, usually does wear feathers , or big hats . Bad Girls ( in Spain ) I think ~ raining really hard & still dances , even better . On a wet stage
He's not part native American, he's half English half Portuguese
Gotta do Cosmic Girl next
I think in the mv, the room design style looks like a futuristic interior design style of room ..scifi mood and tone.. with the white wall and associate the design with the song lyrics about the future and technolgy. The insanity of tge world relate also with the black crow as a symbic about bad sign ..insanity of the future world.Tthe cockcroach symbolic.. the cockcroach is the only animal which will survive in the nuclear war if the world war iii happen in the future. This is how i relate to the symbolic. (Sorry for my grammar and my broken Englisg, English is not my first language)
Hey joy , im from England and Jay kay (jamiroquai) is the coolest funk artist in the world , check out other hits ...check out Pharrell sound, moves and big hat style , he admitted he is a massive fan .....just sayin đ€·
BIG CLASSIC / LEGENDARY / BIG RESPECT / OLD SCHOOL REPRESENT / 80'S 90'S FLAVA / F*CK NEW SKOOL
British top hat ..đ© probably representing his country..
Looks like more of an abstract art than symbols.Nothing was really supose to look normal or with true meaning but it make sense with the lyrics that makes sense and tell a story through abstract that makes sense with music but its just mixed up abstract art some might mean mixed up with random. The bird probbly abstract random but the furniture is abstract make sense with the music.
Edgar Allen Poe - The Raven. Bloody 'ell a Londoner telling you about one of the greatest american poets. Thats insane..actually on topic it's virtually insane. Yeah as mentioned by others do travelling without moving. Can I suggest the BBC live at the Jazz Cafe version. You won't be sitting down listening to that. COYI
I always thought he was a missing Wahlberg.
You like this kind of cool movement in a visual, check out Here it Goes Again, by OK Go!
Heâs British â
The hat was his 'thing' he had lots of hats and that was his look
This early 2000 song is so relevant today
I'm definitely late to this one. The singer's mom was also a cabaret singer. He is not native American/Iroquoian and has taken some grief for wearing the First Nation headwear at times. For earlier stuff, I would check out "Too Young to Die" which was one of their first singles. The album that "Virtual Insanity" is on has two other strong singles "Cosmic Girl" about his car, and "Alright." I'm a fan of "The Kids" from those earlier albums. For later stuff, I would check out the video for "Feels Just Like It Should" which is pretty spectacular and has 3 different Jay Kay roles in it. If you want to check out his property, the video for "7 Days in Sunny June" is filmed on his estate. Also, as others have said, check out the "Canned Heat," "Little L" and "Love Foolosophy" videos, all bangers. Thanks for this one, fun channel!
'Liberals' seem to be the most nazi-esque in regulating what white people can and cant do. I bet no native american complained
You are my fav youtube reactor within 1, 2 views. (spanning years!) I guess life shit happens, but make a comeback if you can make time, please!
You should see his car collection
Miss your reactions.
Do you think being so young, her first impression was that it was CGI moving him?
He reminds me of the cat in the hat
Birds were there to make transitions between scenes. There was 4 takes in video and it is just for editing purpose to connect them. No deep meaning, just technical move
React to my man's song Space Cowboy!â
Like your show, Too Young to Die, Alright, and Space Cowboy are just a few more good Jamiroquai songs . Truth is they got dozens of good songs not enough Americans have heard.
movement is relative

The guy who sang it is british..

We're all living in mental asylums in our living rooms. The bird is our intellect. He says there's nothing worse than a foolish mind at the end of the song and the bird flies free.
Check out and do a reaction to the song Manifest Destiny by Jamiroquai. There's reasons by Tu Pac sampled this song. The song is TIGHT!! Blessing!!!!!!!!
the raven is just an excuse to change the scene
Jay didnât get the bird either
