Ronnie overall is just a super unique drummer. Especially the record this song is on. One of my personal favorite drummers.
Never realised how great the drums are on this song before. I think the Killers owe a lot of their sound to the drummer.

@@kawaivandenelzen4019 nope I actually mean and am convinced that she tuned her snare drum so that it resembles the sound of the original recording. Tuning drums to fit a song is a crucial and often underestimated part of music production.
That is because the drums have been triggered.
The sound is not completely analog.
Each Snare have its own peculiar sound from factory, so eventhough you tune it, you just make a fine tune of its own, but you can not match another snare's sound that easy.
It does not work like that.
This makes me understand how underrated the art of drumming in general is. Also, it's incredible to see how much work goes into the drum section of a song like this one. Pretty amazing!

Loved the reimagining of the first groove as a tom pattern instead of doing it on the hats or ride, it really helped build energy in the later verses when the metals were used in a more standard way.

I prefer Ronnie’s version cause he’s a bit more musical in his playing with the little nuances and dynamics and more groove, this cover is a bit robotic and it sounds like sample replaced, its good playing though. I’m probably a bit more critical cause I know how to play this song almost exactly the same.
One One Hand-I don't like how she put her own spin on this song. Playing it differently just makes it much less technical. Ronny Vannuci is a beast. She can't play it the way he did. On the other- How would you even figure out exactly how he played it? Not exactly easy...

This is the version of a song if a metal head drummer played it. Ronnie Vannuci style and 'musical' is on par with Mark Knopflers guitar. You can't just bang out a few chords and do it justice.
