Yes!!! From the 70’s Great times! 💖💕
Absolutely! I hear this and I'm back at the University of Guelph, sweatin' on the Bullring dance floor.
I can't say I blame you
We need a 70s resurgence after all the BS we've been through the last few years.
I do agree with you! What do music producers até waiting for?
Absolutamente de acuerdo también, esa música marcó nuestras vidas de una manera espectacular, y sigue siendo la mejor, la prueba de ello, es que aquí estamos todavía escuchándola.
😂
@@JoseCallajas-lv7evTaylor Swift fan😂
Are we talking about the times, or the shite music being made now? ;-)
The world desperately needs the return of DISCO-FUNK!!!!
Literal!!
Yes...the nigthy percent of the music actually is garbaje.
Facts
Yessssssssssss
Agreed❤
I remember when I was shocked to learn that he was a blue-eyed soul brother. Love this period when black and white people were kicking it and bringing the hits and just accepted each other's music. No big deal. No big deal when black radio stations played white artists and vice versa.
WHY MUSIC 🎶🎶 GOT NO COLOR , IT SOOTHES THE SAVAGE BEAST BABIES ❤
Quê maravilha!!!!!
I just learned that watching this video 😮😂🎶
Whn was that?? Oh when they were making money off of us!!🤡

I’m so tuned into my old school music, that I have no idea what the new music sounds like. And I’m not trying to find out. I’ll stay in the 60’s,70’s,80’s,90’s

I haven't heard this song in over 40 years. Still got ny head bobbin, and feet tapping! I'm 64 years young.
Get it, Kid!
60 years my favorite cousin introduced me to this album 46 years ago
64 too and haven’t heard this gem in 40 years. What a find!
I’m 66 this year. I loved the past and don’t really care for the present but it is what it is. I pray things change for the better soon.❤
58 years young and still listening to my oldies 😎

When America had 😢 soul
Perfeito !! Brasil 🇧🇷
I still have plenty of soul and funk, brother. I’ve always had it.
America never had a soul....only soul music groovy baby !
💯🙌🏾Best comment Everrrr
This song is so utterly ridiculous!! It would crush most of the trash being played today! The beat, rhythm, lyrics Everything about it is awesome!!
YES!
As far as Life goes you'd think things would get better, WRONG!!!!
The worst shite we had is better than the corporate crap they feed us today
The "worst" back then is better than what's considered the "best" of today!😢
Peter Brown was a 2-hit wonder. This song and Do You Wanna Get Funky With Me were big hits, and the recordings and performances were so good, they still sound great today. Thought we'd hear more from him after those hits, but his subsequent stuff just didn't catch on.
Peter Brown was an underated composer, early innovator with keyboard/synth, and had a great voice. Like many disco era artists, he doesn't get the credit he deserves. Love his stuff.
He wrote this song too.
He’s awesome!
Believe-you-me, he got lots of credit... that guy got more PU55Y than a Veteranarian back in the '70s--
@@nowitsabadtime 😻😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😻!!!!
Kinda surprised he didn't sustain more of a career. Had the 2 hits and disappeared. Maybe he got into production or something.
Hey Millennials, this is what good music sounds like.
we know this lol! We grew up hearing it.
When Life was Sooooo Easy and Fun!!!! The Black DJ, played, “Another One Bites The Dust”, and I became a QUEEN Fan, Immediately!!! Average White Band, Hall and Oates.
Ahh, the summer of '78. But it's 2020 now. Who's still listening with me?
Citizen V I am listening with you!
I'm listening with you. Love Disco Jams! "Dance With Me" and "Boogie Oogie Oogie by A Taste of Honey are my favorites.
I Am!
Me and I will be listening forever too

PETER FOOLED A LOT OF PEOPLE HE'S GOT THE GROOVE LIKE A BLACK GUY AND DANCE FLOORS WOULD BE JAMED WE DANCED ARE BUTTS OFF BACK THEN MUSIC BRINGS US ALL TOGETHER THANKS PETER.
Peter Had The Funk Down Pat !!!
The beauty of DISCO was it represented inclusion in all forms (without the political baggage) as long as you brought the talent. Peter Brown, K.C., Dan Hartmann and many others were free to be. The Europeans from Germany and France brought their much needed version of DISCO (which included Donna Summer and Giorgio Moroder), while the mainstream Americanized version was generally a formulaic pop/R&B style where the Bee Gees were in the mix with everyone from the Tramps, Tavares, Cher, Rod Stewart, and more.
@@chrispnw2547 Absolutely On Pointe 💯💯💯💯!!!!
I feel like I grew in the era of the absolute best music!!!
Oh we did! The 70’s offered the most unique variety of music. No one sounded the same. Every artist/group had their own style and sound. A far cry from today’s stuff (I can’t even fix my mouth to call it music)
It was till y’all let the rockers try to kill off disco. Good thing late boomers and Gen Xers helped it evolve in the 80s and continue on
@@Law-hi8un You can call it Noise, because that's the only way to describe it.
How can you not love disco infused with funk?!! This song is awesome!!
Right????!?
That's the beauty of this song, if somebody gives you siht for listening to it, you just be like "Holmes? This is FUNK, this ain't no Disco-- this ain't no Foolin' Around!" Then they shut-it.
I am going to get up & do my thing!!!!😂😂😂😂
I was 12 when this hit the radio back in those days. Timeless classic,,,,,,
A fun time for "new" discoveries
Oh Man! This jam was one of my favorites as a teenager. I'd listen to WKTU in NY and when it came on.... Crank It Up! Those were the BEST DAYS !!! Wish kids could experience the fun & joy we had back then.
WKTU…the best station. Great mix of music !
Melhor Época!!!!!
Pun intended? He had a disco hit called Crank It Up!
Loved WKTU...
How can you sit still listening to this song? It has me jumping up and dancing in my room. I miss the 70s. Please bring back these songs.
70s beats were so cool. That’s why they are heavily sampled. 😊
Disco is not dead, Disco is life!!
BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE ..TWENTY YEARS OLD THEN. YES I WOULD GO BACK. ❤ IT WAS GREAT TIMES... YES❤
Age 20 I believe was pretty much PERFECT for everybody. Funny thing is Age 20 felt like it took three years... nice and extended
This era was the best time of my life. The dance clubs were awesome.. the best music to dance to even if you don’t like disco it is what it is. There will never be clubs like those days.. now it’s called techno, another name for disco
I'm from Southern California. I was 10 when this came out. I thought I would never hear this song again! Wow
Spring of 1978 all over again in 2023-2024. 😊😊😊
I WISH I COULD RETURN IF ONLY FOR A COUPLE HOURS... omg
Yesssss ❤️❤️
Now we talkin.,
I am 45 but ths we need 70s music to make a comeback.
Ah! There's a comment I can relate to lmao. I was 1 year old when this dropped XD
I was 15 years old when the song came out and I'm still rocking with it today
Me too Walter, great music is timeless !
Me too👍
I was 6 still my jam
Me too. Class of '81.
I was 8 and i remember my mom getting dressed to go to the Garage.... I love her for my music pallet!
I loved the 70’s and 80’s , a time of peace ☮️
❤ Disco is forever. No new music can top this classic song.
RIP Betty Wright. God bless your soul. You are deeply missed.
Approve the sportscar and mourn together.
Her voice is cleaning up Heaven.
I knew she looked familiar, never knew she sang on this song. Love that he gave her her props. I know the A.B. footage was not the original song, but I liked how it fit perfectly. Kudos to the young girl in white sweater who was wacking. And love the 3 ladies in white choreography.
@@oliviajohnjohnolivia8142 Hopefully, no 'cleaning up' required over there!
wow I didn't know that was Betty Wright
This song takes me back to my 17 year old self dancing in front of my full size mirror in my bedroom! My teenage years were a blast. Thank you Lord for blessing me through those years that could have been extra tough because of the death of my mother when l was 12.❤
Peter brown was a very underrated singer but this proves how good he was, those 3 beautiful girls had it going on they took over that verse you gotta keep on making me high and the band was precise on there playing I've been playing drums for over 40 yrs and they the band had it going on, kudos to the whole video it was fabulous, from 1978 wow talking about going back in the day that music was the greatest in the 1970's not the garbage you hear today, i loved the whole setup of the girls and the band, much love to peter brown jus great. 👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
I remember this song from when I was a child in the seventies. Today (5/19/2024) is the first time I’ve ever seen these people.
The iconic Betty Wright.
if they played this now it would be a number 1 hit again
This is WAY better than the so-called "music" they play now!
It is so sad that the music of these "artists" just leads to downfalls
Thoroughly enjoy listening to this song! It feels so good to slip back to the 70's sometimes. Disco rules!!
I miss this music. Oh, God bring it back! Memories of having fun and being the happiest i've ever been.❤❤
Check out his other hit. Do you wanna get funky with me.
Disco was already an underground scene, primarily in New York, long before the 1977 movie, “Saturday Night Fever”, took it mainstream. 🪩
The disco era probably started around 1974-75, maybe even earlier. Barry White originated the disco sound in the early 70s and people in L.A. were doing The Hustle, the first disco line dance, by 1974-75.
By the time this song came out, disco had peaked and become a CRAZE. By 1979 it was fizzling out and being replaced by the Punk and New Wave scenes, which had also been in existence for years, but now experiencing mainstream popularity.
It's been a minute for me since I had this song. It's still a bad ass song for 2024
He wrote one of Madonna's all-time hits: Material Girl. His talent is highly underrated.
R. Contreras, MA. Thanks for the info. He was talented with a great voice. Just rediscovered this song last night after hearing it as a child some 47 years ago. The 70's really had some terrific music.
How do you know he's underrated?Who says so?
Similarly KC from KC and the Sunshine Band wrote Rock Your Baby sang by George Mccrae. Both KC and Peter Brown are from the Miami area.
R.Contreras ! Good to know it . Cool 👍
@@KashaneTiger That song does have a KC sound!
3 beautiful back-up singers.
Who out there in 2024 didn’t know he was blue-eyed soul and oh so talented Peter Brown’s jams were so tight! I love his music.
Dude sounds whiter-than-white! For some reason I believed Jimmy McNichol sang this, ahahaha. Ok I was only five, but still
4-5 years old was such a cool age to absorb all this '70s FUNK... I am so eternally grateful I wasn't born in the '90s!! haha
When music was great! No fake computers fixing the voices!
Miss those days. This was one of my favorite dance songs.
Mine too💃💃
Those were still carefree times...
From 1972...this always made the playlist at every school dance, birthday, baptism, quinceniera, wedding, Saturday morning chores!
Anybody still listening in 2020?
And 2021 and 22 23 24 to eternity

🔴 PETER BROWN FROM BLUE ISLAND ILLINOIS..!!🙋♂️👏👏👏👏👍👍
I was 22 when this hit the clubs, I spun the Shit outta this, and the clubs jammed; great song, Peter was incredible.
Also, backing vocals were provided by Betty Wright (Clean Up Woman) along with her girlfriends Patricia Hurley and Wildflower.
This is what I call real music ,not like today’s shitty music.
Well said!
Never heard this song but the other day my boss started playing it at work and it got me groovin forsure. I asked him what the song was and now I can’t get it out of my head or stop playing It. I’m 32 but and old soul and just don’t like todays music the way I like older music that is actually art. Very happy to find this song in 2022 close to 50 years after it was made 🤙
Wow! You missed out man. But it's never too late. You are welcome 😂❤🎉😅👍😃💪

It's always nice to see young people today who recognize the highly musical value of the artists of the legendary and unforgettable 70s and 80s.
17yrs old and was dancing the night away at the Inset in Stoke-on-Trent…those were the days…Do you wanna get funky, Boogie oogie oogie and many others 😍
"Shawty you keep playin with my mind. You tease me all the time, but I had enough" Lol! Somebody's gotta know that one!
One of the great pop songs of all time. This song has so many great hooks and beats in it. it’s insane.
If this song doesn’t get you singing and dancing…. Nothing on earth will.
Pop? Disco…
@@jonp2338 same thing I said, when I saw the comment.
Some Disco was Pop(ular). Not all Pop is Disco. ✌

I blast these types of tunes from car while cruising this depressed town😂Someone's gotta do it😂❤❤❤
Sadly, Betty Wright passed away on May 10th, 2020 in Miami, Florida from cancer. She was 66 years old...
Between 1968 and 2007 the Miami, FL native had thirty three records on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart, four* made the Top 10 with her biggest hit, "Clean Up Woman", peaking at #2 {for 8 weeks} on December 19th, 1971, the first two weeks it was at #2, the #1 record for both those weeks was "Family Affair" by Sly and the Family Stone, and for it's 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th week at #2, "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green was in the top spot...
She just missed having two more Top 10 records when both her "It's Hard To Stop (Doing Something When It's Good To You)" in 1973 and "Tonight Is The Night" in 1978 peaked at #11 on the Hot Hot R&B Singles chart...
Three of her thirty three charted records were duets, one with Peter Brown, one with Grayson Hugh, and one with Angie Stone...
May she R.I.P.
* Dance With Me" {a duet with Peter Brown} was her second biggest hit, it peaked at #5 {for 3 weeks} on April 8th, 1978...
Thank you sharing this! Love this song! Love Betty Wright and Peter Brown. Although I was 6 when this came out, I was and still am jamming to it. Timeless Music.
RIP Betty Wright
I have Betty Wright Clean Up Woman on CD. From the sounds of the 70’s from Time Life Music
This is a really cool song!!! Kids nowadays don't know good music when they hear it!
Height of the disco era. 🪩 💃🏾 🕺🏾
I remember my parents playing this album. I listened to it over and over until I memorized every word and note of every song. The whole album is pure fire.
To easily forgotten but oh what a shame cuz it was so magical back in the day. ❤️ disco 🎶 🕺🏻 💃🏽
Awww the 70’s nothing comes close to this awesome decade the best ever.
Ayyye I'd reckon the 80's come close but it's a toss up....I look back at then 70's with a fondness not common for a 1982 baby
I always say if I could be 20 in a past era...it would be either 70's or 80's. Old enough to experience it to the fullest
The 70's were a chaotic time. Music was a snapshot. Anyone who lived thru that time can attest to that. Was not a "continous party" and great times. Music scene was not REALLY appreciated across the board....not for a generation later.
ABSOLUTELY!
I haven’t heard this song in years didn’t know he made it
15 years old when this dropped! Class of 81 represent!!
Close enough!!
Gotta love those chords in the chorus, something about them sound so distinctively 70s. Shivers down my spine.
Oh man 😎 how I miss American Bandstand
This is one of my favorite songs. His voice is amazingly beautiful.
This song was very popular in the 70s one of my favorites dDance with me.I still listen to this song and dance.❤😊May 2024 🌻💕
MAGNIFICOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
The catchiest song of ALL time !!!!!🎉❤😊
No Music today makes me feel this great. I like it did back then.
This’ a great song, I remember when it first out back in ‘78. I was a jr. in HS. We all rushed the dance floor when the DJ put this on. Boy we had so much fun back in the day just hanging out and partying. So many great artists and music in that era, and the is, that music is a lot better than today’s music with all the auto tune and the canned music. No real live studio musicians. Peter Brown really had the chops.
Brings back memories of when I started to dance the hustle. Lol. This song played for a while on the radio.
One of the best songs ever never get tired of this song has a awesome beat.
I loved dancing to this song. I miss discos. You would dance and when the song hit a really good part, the lighted disco ball would start turning and fog rose from the floor. OMG good times!
1978 was One Favorite of Years I was 20 -21 Friday & Saturday Nights at the Clubs Dancing the Blues Away. That's Betty Wright on Background Vocals.
God bless Betty wright, thank you for your all your gifts. RIP

Should have been a bigger hit in the UK . I have this in my vinyl collection. Still sounds great.

I like the funky dancing - I don't know if people still do this, but boy I hope they do - it's too much fun
