Not so fun fact: Phillip was actually the one who tried to count to ten thinking he made a mistake because of Eacker counting to seven
Not so fun fact 2: In “The World Was Wide Enough” Burr was talking about how Hamilton fiddled with the trigger. This is because Hamilton was using the same gun Phillip had used in his duel against Eacker.
Not so fun fact 3: Hamilton and Burr were in the same spot Phillip was shot, (this is obvious because of the line : “We were near the same spot his son died is that why!?” In “The World Was Wide Enough”

A fun fact, Philip went to Eaker with his best friend Stephen Price, both challenged him in a duel, Stephen and Eaker had a duel the day before Philip's.
No one shot, and no one died, the only reason Philip's was different was because Eaker got spooked by Philip raising his gun up and he thought he was gonna get shot so he shot him first, reason why he shot early. He also died a few years later after Philip's.
Eaker also didn't talk shit about Alexander, the reason why Philip challenged him was because Eaker was a hardcore Burr Fan.

George didn't mean to shoot.he was truly a man of honour, and was about to follow suit. Sadly, guns back then we're unreliable, so while the gun was coming up, it fired, despite him not shooting. So ya. It wasn't an act of cold heartedness, but a malfunction. Now George had the death of Philip on his conscious, and he didn't even do the wrong thing, at least, not on purpose.

Did you know: Hamilton was actually in a lot of duels before Philip, most of them didn't end in bloodshed, as duels usually didn't. So he told Philip to "throw away his shot" and raise his gun up as a way of saying "I surrender" because Hamilton never expected someone to shoot.

Eacker didn't shoot at seven in real life. Philip and Eacker just stood there for a few minutes, looking at each other. Eacker still had his gun pointed at Philip, and Philip had thrown away his shot by aiming towards the sky (although the thing you did when you threw away your shot was supposed to be to shoot at the ground). The duel didn't end because Eacker still had his bullet. There is actually possibly accurate speculation between historians that Eacker had some sort of spasm, causing him to shoot when he intended to throw away his shot as well but froze from fear.

i saw a few comments before saying that hamilton was dumb for having the aim your pistol to the sky thing but that was really common; aiming your pistol to the ground or the sky. most of the time duels didnt end in death. eacker is just big dum dum and burr was reckless. hamilton had a LOT of duels before the one with burr, and all of them he aimed to the sky. also hamilton was christian and that added to the fact he didnt want to take someones life, especially over something so trivial
