CZcams told me that data videos are now considered spam so I'm staying away from them for now, so I don't get demonetized.
I loved your data videos but these are a okay alternative :3
Why is it considered spam?
@@tilqibiumplays6325 I presume it’s a video that could be deemed as easy to make, but captain Gizmos ones are high quality imo
Aww :(

Important digital cameras this video didn't mention:
Canon 5D Mark II (2008): The first DSLR to offer 1080p video recording on a full frame sensor. It made it possible to record HD video with a shallow depth of field, which enabled low-budget independent filmmakers to achieve the "film look" digitally, and its size and relatively low cost made it popular as a special purpose camera on Hollywood productions. Its popularity among videographers led camera manufacturers to make dedicated large sensor, interchangeable lens video cameras such as the AF100 from Panasonic and FS100 from Sony.
Panasonic G1 (2008): The first mirrorless interchangeable lens digital camera.
Panasonic GH4 (2014): The first mirrorless camera to offer 4K video recording.
Doctor House said thank you!
True but I don't think you could include all features, I did find it odd when they mentioned WiFi on a camera as a major feature, for professionals it certainly isn't l, neither are high res rear screens.
As a pro you know from the view finder if the shot is correct, a quick glance at a preview screen to confirm.
Pop memory card out and put into a PC.
Can't comment on video but I'd imagine external monitors would be connected.
Yes the 5d mk2 with 1080p using the full frame was a major achievement, many people don't realise that video on dslrs and mirror less only used a crop of the frame like mobile phone's and using the entire sensor opens up a huge amount of possibilities
If you want to talk video then the HDVS was the first HD camera in japan in 1984 by Sony. Very important in the history of cameras. It developed into HDCAM by 1997. Used on the Star wars episode1&2&3, and many TV shows like the Office.
I mean it makes sense. Digital cameras are still purchased by professional and amateur videographers/photographers/studios though. Stuff like ISO, shutter speed , white balance, focal length and even crispness of image can't really be adjust by smartphone cameras. So lots of ppl still but them, just not as many as used to
Пора обновить знания. Смартфоны уже умеют больше чем зеркалки. Единственным минусом смартфоном остаётся линзовая составляющая.
Most smart phones don't do as good as a dlsr or even a point and shoot digital cameras, that's why I mainly use digital cameras, much higher quality than a modern phone
@@ZidaneTribal no smartphone till date shoots 14bit raw
@@ZidaneTribal
Much of the mobile camera Power comes from software, Such as using Digital zoom instead of optical once the camera reaches its optic zoom limit.
Yes, 40 times digital zoom might sound good, but an DSLR could easily reach 40 optical zoom with the right lens..And Optical zoom is far better then digital.
But please refer me to a bird photographer who uses a mobile rather than a DSLR.
@@BakaOctopus
No smartphone to date have the capacity to have 40x optical zoom at most they have 10.
That Kodak Easyshare One was far ahead of its time!
Wow, this was so much more interesting than I thought. Well done man!
digital cameras haven't declined! they're more popular than ever in our smartphones, consoles, web-cams, wearable devices etc.
right? like who tf said digital cameras are declining? they will never die. I just hope film photography never dies also because it's a great thing
Absolutely digital is the future. But form factor has changed and integrated into phones that's all.
We had a Panasonic Video Digital movie camera in 1991 or 92. It took excellent video and we have many great family videos.
Great video, thanks for making this.
After a long time
Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
Great history I learned some new things
Thanks for this interesting video.
My first digital camera was the Technika JA550 Tesco brand.
No match for DSLRs and mirrorless. Feels more like a camera than a cellphone camera.
It’s is cool how we came from huge video cameras to smartphones that fit in your pocket that can take 1080P video tech is amazing thing
Great stuff
Love the channel
Where did you get the McCord and Westphal images? There is nothing online to indicate those are from their camera.
No music plz. The evolution of TV was so smooth. Plz make more like it.
How cool!👍
my first digital camera was a D100 that I broke the lens from, but my current camera is a Nikon D3500
Both are truly legendary cameras back in the day. I've had tons of point and shoot from Sony Canon Nikon. Back when digital came out in 2003 and exploded in popularity it was truly a golden age of digital cameras. There were so many choices and the idea of no longer needing to buy and develop film was just so ground breaking everybody had to have one. Truly a revolutionary time. It ruled for 10 years before getting usurped into phones but it was exciting times back then. If you haven't lived thru that time you dunno the excitement back then.
@@jonfreeman9682 my shit memory thought I had a Sony point and shoot, but in reality I broke the lens for 2 D100s when I was a kid
@@Kotius_ The D100 is legendary. Cost a fortune back in the day but was revolutionary back in the day and 6 megapixel was a lot.
Anyone know more about the megavision tessera? Because I would want to see images from the camera it's self tbh
lol damn smartphone be taking so many jobs. Do admit it's interesting to see differences with newest models, and for super sharp digital cameras can still have a use.
I wonder how many digital cameras will still be around in 50 years like film cameras are still working still taking great photos today
My first digital camera was a Hewlett Packard Photosmart 2015 that I bought in 2008 for approximately $400.
my Digital Cameras Kodak EasyShare C813 I have that for 20 years is still working.😎😎😎😎
In the video they say the 1989 camera is the first megapixel camera,
but MegaVision Tessera from 1986 has 4 mpix?? And its even mentioned before the Megaplus in the video?!?!
Phone cameras now are very good. Never thought I would say that, but early phone cameras were low resolution, so if you took normal pictures, probably ok, but digital cameras were the way. I have 2 new digital cameras, but hardly use them (unless for special occasions - The Canon SLR being one)
There is alot of info errors in this video, ranging from dates, years, to resolutions and specs, some products not even in the video that should have been there.
But interesting and fun video anyway :)
the audacity- also its "a lot"*
Here they say the Kodac is the first digital DSLR, and its from 1991.
But Nikon released a digital DSLR in 1988, QV-1000 was its name, or something like that.
First mirrorless camera?
First full frame lsr ?
My First Digital Camera was the Toshiba PDR-5 which use SmartMedia Card and my 2nd camera was the SONY FD87 camera, But then I decided to get the Fuji Line as it was the Finepix 4700 that lead me to the get the Finepix S Series line S2Pro, to S3Pro, to the S5Pro DSLR using AF Nikon Nikkor lenses as it also took the Manual focus lens, and then got the Nikon D2Xs model.. But I decided to go back to film shooting after quitting that lousy job at Fishermen's Wharf, and to to travel, and brought my Contax, and Canon RF Film Cameras along with the Horizont panoramic camera....
3:46 Damn, this camera has better quality than my Chromebook Gemini lake XD
Oof
Could you do a best selling Super Mario games time chart including their spin offs?
I am a bit baffled when you say digital cameras are declining, they're not! Mobile phones ARE digital cameras.
I guess that single purpose digital cameras are decreasing in popularity but that is irrelevant to me as I am very happy with the digital images from my phone and I still use film cameras for the arty stuff 👍
*Dycam model 1, could easily be mistaken for a phone*
Please make "the most used pfp on youtube"
That’s a little bit of a hard category to do. He could do most pfp’s by relation to series or generic things.
@@retrosrobloxreviews9564 Oh yeah yeah
First digital camera: i am your own worst reader lol
Last digital camrea: I AM THE BEST!!!!
where did you go :/ we miss you
I bought my first digital camera in 2001, a 1MP Kodak. It's a shame cameras have declined so much because in it's current form, the tiny sensor in phones will never be able to deliver the quality of a large sensor and interchangeable lenses.
"the tiny sensor in phones will never be able to deliver the quality of a large sensor" - they already do it, and much better compared to compact cameras. It's because of computational photography. Smartphones have powerful CPU's that make up for the tiny sensor. In ideal lighting conditions the images are even hard to distinguish from those produced by DSLRs.
It was truly a golden age of digital cameras. I had Canon Nikon Sony all point and shoot but they were all great. It was revolutionary back when it came out the idea of not having to buy film and develop them was groundbreaking. It was a must have item.
0:46 I live in Chile!
When I was in 8th grade I spent my summer working so I could buy a Cannon T3i and I loved it. Then the year after that I got the iPod 4th gen and the camera was about the same quality if not better but I could post the videos right from there. I never used my cannon again and I’ve been filming on iPhone ever since.
First off, it’s not the cameras fault, it’s because you have a crap kit lens. Once you upgrade your lens, smartphones are nowhere close to the quality you can get
Yeah I had the same iPod touch when. I was younger, I still have them around but they'd in bad shape, but good images for the time for smart devices, but my parents digital camea from 5 years before the iPod and more mp and it still takes better pictures than my modern phone. I reckon you most be using you're new camera wrong or something because I have a newer digital camera form 6 years later than the iPod and it has 20.1mp (Really 19.91mp) and the iPod had 0.3 front camera and 0.7mp on the back, also how did you get a iPod touch 4th generation when it's Unsupported and Its 2022, but I've used my iPod full time until around really 2019 or 2018 when I got my mum's old smart phone. The I've had 2 other phones since then or really 3. Also now when I look back the iPod camera was so blury and crappy but eh it's better having old pictures than not so. also your digital camera is 18mp, that's 18 million pixels
Also sounds like the camera you have is a type of dlsr to, so it shouldn't be crappy images, because even old dlsrs from the early 2000s ain't to bad image quality rise, lol please reply wanna know more, maybe the lens is scratched or something or damages in some way I'd you got it second hand or something?
Truly legendary camera and iPod back in the day. Everybody wanted one.
True and very odd when I see people upgrading cannon d60s with a kit lens to be a d70, when buying a different lens would give you much better image quality.
I can use my 10d 6mp camera from 20 years ago with a 150-600 lens and get better photos than anyone could ever hope to get on an iPhone costing 1400 bucks.
And I paid around 900 bucks for that lens 10 years ago.
On an apsc camera I get the equivalent of around 900mm, about 40x in camera speak.
But it's not Really that because they lie, our field of view is around 50 degrees, a smart phones primary lens starts wider around 25mm, so when they say 5 times optical zoom it's around 125mm which is about 2.5 times closer.
A 1000mm lens on a full frame is 20x closer and around 30x closer on an apsc.
But a compact digital with a 30 Times optical zoom normally reaches to around 720mm because it starts at 25mm or so
i love Flip Ultra HD
I should literally purchase an Apple QuickTake 150 digital camera off of eBay and use it as official school projects
Fun fact: Smartphones have digital cameras built in
Hey Captain Gizmo You are In CZcams Battles you gotta Battle with Total Drama So Have Fun

Obviously the digital cameras are pretty useful on a professional level. No, not just useful, but necessary.
"Do I remember your first digital camera?" Yes, it was an Epson. No mention of the Epson PhotoPC here.
I like use old thing
Technically cell phones are Digital. Cell phones and Post editing tools can get close to DLSR and Mirrorless. It’s going to be a while before they can match/reproduce low light performance, depth of field and background compression different lens provide.
Fuji 3D W1 and W3 and others
In my opinion a digital camera will always have better image quality than any iPhone will.
Yes, the Canon R5 has a color depth of 25.3 comparing with an smartphone it don't even get close, Mirrorless cameras or DSLR will ever be the best no matter the AI the iPhone get
Sure but for most people it's good enough. You don't need fine dining and cavier when McDonald's will do.
My first digital camera was OLYMPUS
Odd you did not mention the Agfa e Photo 1280. It was the first megapixel camera to sell for under $800 and my first digital camera. I eventually replaced it with a Nikon D80 which I still use today, since the D80 takes better pictures than any cell phone camera.
1971 is when my dad was born xD
Kodak EasyShare C182
Make best selling consoles but not brands plz
We don’t need no stinkin’ digital, long live film!
A Sony DSC-S2000 from 2010
My first camera was HP Photosmart 715 - 3megapix.. then Canon Powershot G5 - 5mpix, but much better lens
RIP Lytro... I really liked the concept of that camera but it seems it was TOO good... so good, they pulled it back from the market and made it inaccesable to normal people to buy one because the technology went elsewhere... I think it became Military technology.

Why Word the cameras be in decline?
Because phone cameras are getting pretty dang good for how small they are in the phone. Why spend another 2K plus for another stand alone bulky camera when you got a nice one already in your pocket that can do many many other things.
I have seen a decline in regard to newer compact cameras as many models that are out are types that are a couple of years old..Such as Canon 740.
However System cameras seem to have gained new momentum thanks to mirrorless.
Another trend is the return of Polaroids/Instax and Analog.
the parts without music is really awkward just have music play throughout the whole video
Saved photos to discwithout digital conversion? I don't think so. The disc is not analog. It's digital.

Ok, but you can make a video with coronavirus data?

I do not have a smart phone and even if I did, I would still buy a real camera. A smart phone does not have a self timer nor can you mount a cell phone to a tripod. I am not sorry I bought a camera in 2019 because I think my photos are superior to those taken by a cell phone.
Both those statements are false. I've had timers on my phones since like 2012. Browse a little more in the camera app settings. Also they make phone tripods. If you get a great stand alone camera, sure. Those photos can be better but it's a niche market now. Only content creators, youtubers and professional photographers etc... use stand alone digital cameras. Most people just use their phone camera now. I have a S21 Ultra 5G and I have a 108 MP camera and 8K video capability. Granted I'm not one of the niche market people so why would I spend another 2K on a bulky camera.
@@S1D3W1ND3R015 I can only use one hand and now have a smart phone and it is a pain to use. It has a touch screen and if you look at it the wrong way, everything is messed up. I AM STILL GLAD I HAVE A CANON CAMERA WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A TOUCH SCREEN AND I AM ABLE TO TAKE GOOD QUALITY PICTURES BETTER THEN A SMART PHONE CAMERA.
Just buy a cheap phone with a nice screen and a Real camera with wifi.
@@fernandojosesampaio9173 I am old fashion, I still like taking pictures with a camera. I think my pictures are also superior then those taken with a smart phone. I have a smart phone now but trying to do things on it is a pain, because it is a touch screen and I can only use one hand. My canon camera not only takes superior pictures, it is easier for me to handle because it does not have a touch screen.
SONY
All this incredible technological innovation is just so unnecessary and minor in the grand scheme of things. The fundamentals of capturing an image has not changed since the birth of photography. None of the innovation has been revolutionary only evolutionary.
