I've had this machine for about 5 months now and I really love it. It gives a nice crema, and doesn't leak out any coffee smell from its top cover. It does use a lot of water though so you'll have to clean the bottom tank quite often, but that's not that big of a deal. The only thing I miss is a 4th setting for the drink amount because I usually have to run it once on 3 and then once on 1 so I can fill my cup.
Also, when I first made the purchase I overlooked the LatteGo part, so I was a bit disappointed with the fact that it came with the LatteGo attachment, rather than a regular milk frother attachment, because I though that would prevent me from making latte art. I'm not sure what I was on back then but now I just keep a small milk jug on the machine as it prepares the milk, and then quickly switch to a cup as it pours espresso, which allows me to do put the milk in later and make whatever shape I want.
One final thing; make sure to ventilate your kitchen (or where you keep the machine) as it can somehow leave coffee stains on the higher parts of your walls, probably because of the steam that comes out of it.

Love my new 3200 LatteGo. The only gripe I have is how small the portions are! I have to go through, find the cups I'm going to use most often and increase the max size for all the models. The "large" coffee size fills up maybe half a cup of coffee at most. Same with all the other modes. I wish we could adjust the "medium" portion also. Only the large can be adjusted

    • @DomzyDX
      @DomzyDX Před 2 lety +3

Thats because its an espresso machine, not a coffee machine. Espresso extracts coffee under 15 bars of pressure, this doesnt create a large volume of liquid, rather it creates a concentrate with 3-4x the potency of typical drip coffee. If you want volume you use a drip coffee maker, if you want lots of caffine in a small volume you go espresso machine.

Delonghi specializes in espresso while philips specializes in mass production, the reality is that the delonghi will have more tempurature customization, a more even extraction with better and more evenly distributed pressure in general with a proper pressure gauge, and a more flavorful customisable end product, however the delonghi is like $1400 vs $700 for the philips so you get what you pay for at the end of the day.

And the foam quality is not good at all. Here in Argentina there are currently good choices to get the Philips 2231 LatteGo that has some less features than this one.
Am I getting a good deal by replacing my Syntia with this one? I feel that the 2231 is more an entry-mid level machine where the Syntia is more robust. I know that Syntia is a pretty old model so I'd be getting a totally brand new one, but not yet convinced.

However, as I have near-zero knowledge of espresso machines, would you be so kind as to cover the following queries:
0.38: What is that lubricant for? Where/how do we use it?
1.55: Is how much you want ground, a matter of taste, or is there a "standard" level that we should set the adjustment to?
2.05: Does using whole beans, or pre-ground coffee, make a difference in the result?
How can you "tell" the machine which coffee compartment to use (beans vs ground)?
Can you make all the 5 different drinks with both options (beans vs ground)?
And, is only one scoop of ground coffee (that the compartment can take) enough to make a double-quantity drink, just as it will do with the beans (where it can use as many beans as are required as in 8.13)?
2.36: You say "cup warmer". Does this mean that the "floor" of the area is heated??
Thanking you in advance for your time!! :)

We bought the Philips 3200 LatteGo Espresso Machine from Seattle Coffee Gear. We made our first cappuccinos this morning. Is there a way to make "two shot" latte or cappuccino with the LatteGo? We see how to do a 2 shot espresso. Hope to learn something here lol.

I'd love to see a comparison between 2200 and 3200. It looks like the 3200 has an easy milk level button, which is missing on the 2200. But more than that, I'd love to see a review of the difference.

What kind of coffee does the middle button makes (the one between espresso and americano) ?
Also, I wonder how it can make americano. Is there another water spout inside the unit, can the excess water bypass the coffee puck?

Guy L I think the brew unit and tech is all the same. You just get fewer drink options than the Xelsis (5 vs 12) and fewer customization options. If that’s worth $1k to you only you can decide.

Hi. Mine stopped using ground coffee anymore. It works like everything is ok but the only outcome is hot water, and the ground coffe turns into a puck, thats it. Do you have any guess about how to fix it? Thank you!

Now I have noticed in delonghi you mentioned the type of beans (which was reeeaaally help as this was my issue with delonghi). Now my question is, do you this machine will have the same issue or any bean should be fine with it.
    Thanks again!

      Super-automatic safe beans only. :)
Oily beans gum up all super-autos.
The SCG website has a section dedicated to super-auto safe beans

I just got mine yesterday. Is that too early to tell if the machine does in fact makes good coffee? So far, I’m not impressed. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. It didn’t taste strong enough so I added 4 shots. Could it be the beans that I bought? It was roasted 9/1/20 and I used it on 9/21/20. Help please!

Never separate the milk container from it's holder with milk in it- it will go everywhere....the clear part is NOT contained...it needs the black casing to hold the milk in- we just use the milk and rinse it, or pour it out and store it, then rinse the milk container.

Hi there , kinda thinking of pulling the trigger on this one, one question tho, if i buy beans for a good espresso and decide to make americano, which is basically english coffee is there any other spot it will take beans from or it will use that same bean ?
