Yes, this old Woodlands Town Centre used to have many currency exchange, a food centre, wet market. It was actually very vibrant as early as the 70s if I am not wrong.
Anyway, if you are adventurous looking for abandoned places in Singapore, you can try Neo Tiew Estate, old Changi Hospital, Istana Woodneuk. But enter at your own risk...
By the way, the ice cream you bought from the kiosk. It is one of the last you can see in Singapore. Once these sellers gave up their license, no new licenses will be issued... :(

A few thing to take note
1.Hdb ethnic ratio consist of English/Malay/Indian and other ethnicity.
    2. Old woodland town was demolished to prepare for the checkpoint extension.
    3. The new woodland bus interchange is bustling, and yes you are right that it almost connect to everywhere (taking 966 will bring you to marine parade fast, taking the 170 will lead you to JB (Please remember your passport))
4.The durian ice cream you ate isn't really full of durian flavors, so some tourist actually don't mind eating it)

@Gjib Ojisan, appreciate it that someone is exploring somewhere outside of the city central, but it seems wrong to call the old woodlands central a ghost town. Although the cinema has been closed for a long time, the area had always been bustling up till 2017, when it was announced that the area would be closed down, and the land used to build an extension of the woodlands check. It was due to this initiative that stalls were closed down, and even the hawker centre was moved to the new marsiling mall. So I would hope that it could be clarified, that the area and this so called “ghost town” was never “abandoned” but was being closed to carry out new plans.

Please be careful while you’re filming while walking along the road in JB! There are cases of thieves on motorbikes snatching purses or phones from pedestrians. Your camera would definitely be a target 😂 but please try all the wonderful foods in JB~ btw, durians are cheap there too!

    @ Ghib Ojisan,
    Hi,
Thank you for sharing this walkabout video about Old Woodlands Town Centre.
Many familiar buildings appeared to have been demolished. You're right, it was once a bustling place to be. Am getting addicted to ur channel as you sure do ur "homework" b4 venturing out. So, you love the King of Fruits too......sweet, bitter, creamy any special preference? Head to Malaysia for "freshly dropped" durians when in season.
    Have a great weekend.

Imported water from Malaysia supplies around 50% and only up to maximum 60% of Singapore’s water demand. Singapore has 4 sources of water which also includes recycled water (NEWwater), rainwater collected in reservoirs, and seawater desalination and we are slowly moving towards self-sufficient. Hopefully by 2061 we won’t need to rely on Malaysia anymore for water.
You are right about the relationship with Malaysia lol. I’m surprised that you even know our conflicts. Be careful while filming in JB! Great video as always 👍🏻

It's been long since I went back there.. When I was young, I used to go there with family for sheng shiong and I vaguely rmb there was someone selling good pancakes outside, peanut and coconut ones, chasing rats around drains actually. When I grew up, I stopped going there due to school work. It's long gone, it's 2020 and I forgotten about it alr. And also, woodlands marsiling admiralty really do have alot of cats ^~^ most of them are very friendly
Edit : that uncle selling ice cream has been there for yearsssss, since young I walk pass there he has always been there selling rain or shine.

Ken さん, you really know so much about Singapore, it goes to show your love and interest in our country. Anyway, the vacant Woodland cinema used to be a very vibrant area with lots of shops and eating places, I used to go there very often as all my relatives owned shops there, unlike now where Singaporean go to JB to shop, in the 70s and 80s, the Malaysian crossed over to Woodlands to do their shopping , business for us were very good then, how things have changed with time.

Welcome, I am working at the semi conductor plant right beside the old woodlands center & custom checkpoint.
The building was an old cinema that closed more than 10 years ago. It was converted into a recreational buildings with some shops. The place was heavily frequent by Malaysians workers for meals & money exchangers. The demolished town center will make way for new housings. BTW the food center & shops are relocated to the other side of marsiling train station, beside the sports stadium & police station.
