Go down the day before you actually start hiking. Spend the night at the bottom - cuts out tiring descent. Have done this 3 times. 1976 - 1991- l996. Gives you more time at Sulphur spring. Once on bottom the canyon isnt all that bad. The only problem is water availability. Sleeping under the most amazing stars -the heavens are white. J 11:53 11:55 12:02 Wish I could do it again.
