Thank you for posting this! I bought one of these, and was thinking to myself "would this be safe to take on a trip for a night or 2?" And your video answered that for me.
This started out amazingly with the Hazy IPA and I just kept watching (I'm looking at as much Beach LT content as I can, I think it might be the oru for me at this time (I don't fit 16'' of the coast. Oops.))
Where are you paddling? A buddy of mine paddled from Glen Canyon Dam, through Horseshoe Bend to Lee’s Ferry in my Lake+, I was in my Beach LT. I also paddled a small stretch of Lake Powell up into Antelope Canyon on my Lake+. It’s a great little kayak. Doesn’t track as well as the Beach but who cares. It’s tons of fun and stable enough to stand up on!
I'm looking at the Beach LT as well.... of course it's two years after your video so I'm guessing the design has changed but I don't see a bar behind the seat on the models now - it seems that would be very nice to have when it comes to hooking your gear so you don't lose it in the event of a tip over - I wish they hadn't removed it OR did you modify and add that yourself? How about a cup holder?
Actually that bar was was kind of a pain to deal with. I also have a newer model Beach with the strap and it’s much better in my opinion. You can clip gear to the strap! 2 years later and I still haven’t found the ideal cup holder yet tho.
@@therobdeez thanks so much! I bought the Beach LT (got lucky and found one on fb marketplace for 1/2 the price of a new one -- the guy had only used it 3 times, it's like new!) I didn't even think of clipping to the strap!! Duh! 🤦🏻♀️ Thanks for the tip!
Handles great. Did 6 yak camping trips last year and another one this past weekend. I’ve gotten a little better about not bringing too much crap. But the space behind the seat, the cooler as my foot rest and the bow/stern hatches with float bags leaves me with room to spare. Last weekend I was joined by a Bay and an Inlet for 2 nights of camping. All boats had room to spare. Inlet was the slowest, Bay was the most difficult to access supplies.
Out of the few I tried I’m happiest with this one. Don’t think it was designed to get wet but it’s held up since 2020. I like the height of it too. Every once in awhile I’ll forget to bring the seat along when I paddle and it doesn’t take long to notice the difference. Update. I purchased the Oru Gel seat and I’m happy with that. Unlike the other one I mentioned, the Oru Gel seat can get wet. And it’s plenty thick/comfy!
Sorry maybe i missed it and i dont mean to be rude, how much do you weigh? I ask because i'm 225 and plan on trying to bring a decent amount of gear with me on the beach LT.
I’m 200. The beach can handle up to 300. I usually bring about 40-50 lbs of gear. That includes firewood, ice a small cooler and an extra paddle. I’d definitely recommend using float bags. I pack some stuff in the bulkheads but most of it sits in the open space behind the chair. Cooler up near the foot rest. And a small bag between my legs.
There may be several oru beach videos out there, but this is the only one that shows it's storage functionality.
Dude, loved your video. I just purchased two Oru Beach LT sports. I was wondering about camping and loading and this video was extremely helpful.
Great video.. love seeing what people bring while kayak camping.
Very cool video. Also, the photos you showed were insane!

Awesome! Fabulous! Love it brother!

thanks for this video, kayak looks to be near limit for loading, how did it handle?
Would like to see salt water performance, maybe fishing.

the last five seconds of the video hahaha
Great video on loading your Oru. Have you found a comfortable seat yet?

Thanks Rob…do you just lay this on the Oru seat? Fasten it down?
@@UkeDad I lay it on top of the regular seat and fasten it around the backrest. (This seat comes with a strap)

What does a bell do against a boat?
If nothing else it amuses me. Plus who expects to hear a bicycle bell on the water!?
