I remember a police pursuit 40 years ago in my neighborhood in Northeast LA. The four young black suspects abandoned their car and jumped a five-foot chain link fence and headed up into the state park brush to escape. Police pursued and caught them all.
On the way back down the hillside, the suspects who were all cuffed behind their backs were each individually lifted up one by one over the five-foot chain link and simply dropped over like sacks of potatoes -- all landing hard and awkwardly.
It was a great thing to see.
They hardly ever get away but just won't stop taking cops on these wild chases and endangering the lives of others in the process
Yeah, these aren't UCLA grads.

Always like 5 min of silence before they link up the audio (even though it's clear they're reporting on it, listen to the audio when it starts on this one, she was clearly already speaking like there was a narration for awhile). There was someone sitting on the bench at the bus stop right before they almost hit the pole. And the newscasters didn't even see that person almost get hit. 2 feet to the right and that person gets hit. If you stop the camera between impact with car and 3:00 mark you will see person sitting on bench.

I spotted one getting away at @3:36 (still running in the same direction). He's in the lower right of the screen between a tree and the building with the white roof- just below the 2 white columns...if the chopper dudes didn't pull up the map overlay they would have seen him easily.

If it is huge ranchland yeah its all pretty much family. But there are tons of small towns in rural texas. Towns with up to 50 thousand people spread out over wide area. Those are the towns i am speaking of. My town has a pop of 2000 in town and 50, 000 out of town. Very law abiding and nice people. We just dont have that BS crime and disregard for law enforcement. I guarentee if something happened and the witness said it was a blue truck with flags on it, the cops would be at their house before they got home. That is agood thing.

Being there in the fifties + years, as you were, was definitely a much safer time to live there.
