This was the best explanation of not only the actual procedure but the desired results and after care. You're the best Dr. W
Thank you. Chin lipo is so powerful but so under utilized by patients. I always said if everyone knew how good chin lipo was everyone would be lined up outside every plastic surgery office in the country!
Hi Dr, when results are expected to appear after the traditional cannula liposuction? Thank you
Hoe comes you don’t have one yourself doc chin lipo
It’s been 3 months and my chin is still hard, tight and my right side is drooling and it hurts. My surgeon just got me coming in to watch it but why isn’t my chin loosing up? I get chin messages and it still won’t go down.

I love your work Dr Williams 😍 you are very good
See you in October Dr. I’m excited
Love your videos. Most is out of reach for me, but I still find them interesting nonetheless. I'm approaching 50 so it's good to at least learn what options are out there. Your work is outstanding.
Glad you like them!
Thank you for hearing my request can't wait July 25th here I come
Thí is what I am looking for. Thanks for sharing Dr.
You are welcome!
Thanks Doctor, always excellent, precise and clear explanations!👍
My pleasure!
Yay! Just in time I wanted to get my chin lipo done in June 🙌
DO IT!!!!!
Best decision I made 😁

How did it go
Day two still sore and tenderness 😅thanks for the positive outlook on recovery can’t wait till it’s over
The first few days are rough but it gets better.
Maybe I can get this in place of the implants I'm not a good candidate for? Thanks for the video Dr. William! See you in two months! Woot!
Excellent and informative 👍 Video!!@
Thank you! 👍
My friend just had this procedure
Thanks for the info!!
Any time!
I had chin lipo done yesterday, I also had buccal fat removal. Both my cheeks and my chin are sore, I can't really tell which feels worse. I'm taking ibuprofen and I've been icing over my head compression garment. Fingers crossed I look pretty normal when I go back to work in a week and a half. 🤕
How was your recovery?
@@DrWilliamMiami today is week 4 and I'm so much better! I still have a little bit of swelling in my cheeks and my chin is still a little numb but I'm healing very well. People are starting to notice a difference 😊
Hey I just had mine yesterday. Are you happy? Any skin sagging?
@@loui_kang next Wednesday will be 3 months since I had my procedures. My jawline is already snatched and my face looks slimmer. I was complimented on my "high cheekbones" the other day. I still have swelling inside my cheeks, where the Dr. made the incisions for the buccal fat removal. I also have some swelling under my chin, nothing super obvious though. I've been massaging under my chin every other day with a textured face roller and a cryotherapy ball. I recently watched a video of girl who went to the same Dr., she also had the chin swelling and hers was gone by the 4th month after her procedure. So far I don't have any regrets, I just didn't think the healing process would take so long. Going through a gradual change is actually a good thing though, as time goes by people notice you look better but don't realize it's because you had surgery.
@SmileyFace WithSunglasses that's great news I'm happy for you its worrying at first isn't it? Lol how long after the procedure did you start massaging? 🙂 I've had about 350mls of jowls/chin/neck
Hi, how long until I notice results? I’m 6 weeks post op and couldn’t get my massages d/t unrelated medical issues. I barely got my first massage today , is it too late to see results because of this ?😢
Hi! Is this under local anesthetic and how long does the actual procedure last? Thank you! Always great vids! ♥️♥️
I only operate under a general anesthetic but the chin is a good area for using just local to perform the lipo. However, I only add the chin when I am performing lipo 360 so the patient is under a general anesthetic already. Certainly if you just wanted chin lipo you could have it done solely with a local anesthetic but I personally don't just perform chin lipo by itself.
Oh damn I wish I would have found the video before I got my procedure yesterday , my double chin is genetic and I am not overweight (it’s really small) but the doctor recommended to combine the lipo with renuvion. I was talked into it but was sceptical about it since I’m just 26 and thought my skin would do it’s job. Well looks like I just spend 1500€ extra for something not so essential 👀
How was the procedure? I am doing it tomorrow
My doctor told me the same I am also paying 1500€ for laser after my Lipo? But I am confused should I refused it?
Hi doc, how long is the procedure of neck liposuction only
I saw your vid and your take on inner thigh lipo. It can be to easy to get ugly hollowed out areas as you descend the inner thigh. Can I get a thigh gap procedure..there seems to be a roll of fat that travels towards my rear. Can that fat be removed at least I have a gap and i my thighs still rub lol. Also what bout cool sculpting inner thigh?
Hi! I had chin liposuction after unsuccessful kybella treatments and it's not healing anywhere near the way I thought it would. I have so much scar tissue now where my double chin was (is) and it doesn't look like it's going to go away. I also have had steroid injections to help decrease the swelling as well. I wear the compression garment every night to sleep to reduce swelling.
Do you have any recommendations? I truly think I need to get this done again.
I would have to see you to say for sure.
It could be loose skin if your double chin is still there in which case you may need a chin implant or a platysma plasty, neck lift procedure?
Curious if you ever saw improvement?
Does the lump gone? Cause i had chin lipo 11 days ago and developed lump
@@Ayzed96 pinch & roll it
Whats the cost?!?
Do you also remove fat from the sides as well?
Cavitation after lipo. What do you think? My massage therapist recommends it to help the healing process
. What are your thoughts.
I don't mind if my patients have cavitation after surgery.
@@DrWilliamMiami do you think there is any benefit? My massage lady says it makes your skin better and smoothes lumps after lipo. So I wonder if it's needed or everything will heal good without this cavitation
I am having TWO certified lymphatic massage therapists on my podcast next week and we are going to discuss this along with a lot of other things. It should be great. Stay tuned.
PLEASE HELP! 😭 So I had Chin Lipo/neck & jawline definition done December 14. Today is now December 31st... approximately 17 days and I'm having a problem in between my surgeon and Massage Therapist because my surgeon is telling me to wear my Faja & foams for a month. Informing me That this is the reason why I have fluid retained my neck and I need to get drained but my Massage Therapist is telling me I don't need it to be drained with the syringe just continue to get my massages and she's telling me NOT to wear my Faja but I'm swelling up so now it's just, very hard on me. I don't know what to do if I should wear my phone or not with the compression garments. I have an indentation in my neck due to the fluid surrounding. I just don't know what to do but when I do put on the Faja and compression it does help but at the same time that it's still darker in my Massage Therapist is telling me it's because I don't have oxygen while wearing the Faja. This is so contraindicating for me.
Wonder. How u book with him I been watching learning videos from him google bout lipo 360 bbl and chin lipo

I had liposuction a month ago but I have quite a sizeable indent where the tube was inserted, will this fill in over time?
Hard to say without seeing it but if I had to guess you would need a scar release in that area at 6 months at least after your surgery.
I'm getting chin, neck lipo & lipo 360.
What are your thoughts on whether to massage lumps or not massage? Why is every surgeon different with this?? I have lumps and swelling 6 weeks post op and I want to massage but my plastic surgeon said not to, they'll eventually go away. I'm just so nervous I'm not being proactive when I could be...
Well different surgeons will have different opinions but in my experience and what I tell my patients is to roll. Roll, roll, roll. I developed a new Ogee Roller just released--yesterday--and it is meant for postop liposuction and it also has vibration and a special design to mimic foam and we know that foam, vibration and massage all decrease fibrosis and smooth the skin so YES I am a HUGE fan of touch and massage and roll in the recovery process for the whole first year. You have to protect your results. I also love run-on sentences.
@Dr William Miami thanks for the reply, I do have a roller at home, so I'll try that!
I tend to type out long run on sentences myself 😂
@@DrWilliamMiamican I order this online?
Doc how long is it to see final results? Im about 6 weeks in and i still feel fluid and some lumps under my neck. My results are still not where I expect it to be.
Make sure to massage yourself daily but I would get some Manual Lymphatic Drainage massages here too--they can make a huge difference but you need to find someone experienced and licensed for MLD.
What's the age limit of your patients
How do we go about lymphatic massages after chin lipo? Tips & techniques?
It is hard to do them by yourself so I would see a registered Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist and have them perform them. I don't think you would need more than 3 MLD massages. It is a small area and the neck is rich in lymphatics so the fluid drains easily.
Maybe you can advise, I’m 18 days post chin lipo and I’m having uneven texture and lumps on my neck and chin, some of them feel like bumps and the others feel like prolonged tunnels. I was prescribed oral drops for lymph drainage but it seems that they don’t help. My surgeon is telling me “wait”, but it feels like this would be a response of any surgeon who did something wrong😢 I had very little fat to begin with. Are those bumps something normal in recovery period? Or in 18 days it is expected to have a smooth result already?
18 days I feel same u
Behind my ears under chin looks bumpy
are the lumps still there? Or have you seen improvement since then? Are they visible or you can just feel them?
@@Charley0213 Yes but now (3 months later) they are significantly smaller. Also still having light numbness, light swelling and pain on touch. Visible only if I tilt my head back.
I had surgery with you this past Friday (06/30/23) and I was asked to buy a Chin garnment but I wasn't put on it after surgery. I picked it up the next day and started wearing it but didn't know for how long. So, when I asked the coordinator, she fiest told me 7 days and then om a different day she texted saying I actually had to wear the Chin garnment for 30 days. So, I'm confussed because you say only 48 hours
You will get a lot of answers for these types of questions because everyone does it differently. I usually suggest wearing it for 48 hours after surgery.
@@DrWilliamMiami omg, glad to get confirmation because I had been wearing it since last Fri. Since I had surgery with you recently, is it possible to get written post op instructions for this and the lipo/bbl?? It would be nice to have something in written to reference, I have tried contacting the clinic multiple times and I either get the wrong answer like now or just can't even reach anyone :( very frustrating
I feel like I have lumps under my chin now, should I also be getting massages under chin?

Doctor i had my lipo 11 days ago and now developed like hard lump under my chin, will that hard lump vanished in the next days?
U need to massage daily and ba patient. My lump is getting smaller. I still massage at least 3 times a week. I am 10 months post op.
Hello Doc!! I have my date scheduled for a bbl with you already. But I want chin lipo as well. Can I have both procedures done together??
Yes you can add chin liposuction to any procedure.
Great news!!! I added it yesterday 🥴🥴. Thanks for replying!!!
Can the rat be harvested for other area such as bbl? If you are skinny bbl
Usually skinny BBL patients don't have a lot of fat anywhere else and the largest deposits are in the love handles and the key areas.
Are swollen lymph nodes below the chin on neck normal two weeks after
Yes, it is common to have enlarged lymph nodes in the lymph node basin close to the operative site. Not just the neck but all over the body.
I had chin liposuction and it’s been 2 weeks and I still wear chin bracket tape thing. I have been advices to get buccal fat removal since I have big chubby face. Im
Overweight.I’m afraid it’s going to age me since I’m 34 & the fat hangs my face down
Don't do it
Hi doc, after my lipo, my lover lip doesn’t move it’s been 5 days. I have a crooked smile. Can you advise me how to recover from this? Should I be worried?
I would see your surgeon. Sounds like you have a nerve injury.
When can I return ti the gym after procedure?
Recovery from chin liposuction is so easy that you could return to the gym in a few days.
I had chin lipo and as I was leaving they didn’t even know I had it. 9 months later and I still have a double chin
Oh! So the surgery wasn’t successful?! 👀
Chin liposuction is amazing at removing fat BUT if you have extra skin or if you have what is called a "weak" chin where your mandible doesn't project very much it can be disappointing not because it didn't work but because it was not the right operation. Kind of like if the gardener cuts your lawn but you really wanted your hedge trimmed. The lawn is shorter because the lawnmower worked but it wasn't the correct technique to trim your hedge.
So when going to the consultation the dr should recommend the right procedure?
I had 2 chin lipo a year 1/2 skin didnt stick I also have jawls and huge cheeks..i still have super round face it didnt help..I have searched and some people get that combination with lower face lipo and lower face skin thighting..once they heal in 6-8 mths if they like it or If they still look lil round you could get buccal fat removal..that's what they recommend in some patients..I'm looking for surgeon in my area that does lower face thighting
@@DrWilliamMiamiso what operation would you recommend for a weak chin?
Does wearing the garment for a long time prevent loose skin?
No the skin here redraws by itself without the need for much help.
Do you recommend chin liposuction with bodytite procedure?
I have never found it necessary to use anything other than simple liposuction here as the skin retracts and re-drapes very nicely in the chin. If I think there is just too much skin for it to retract after liposuction than those patients need a neck lift.
Thank you for the information. Very helpful.
Truuuuueeee i got chin lipo today andddd it does not hurt at all
That's what 99% of the patients who have had chin lipo tell me--very easy recovery and very little pain or discomfort.
Personally, it hurts me more than the tummy tuck did 😢
Is there an age restriction to have chin lipo done? Cause i was just told i was to old (very early 40's great skin) cause it could cause fibrosis. I have had different Surgeries never had any fibrosis. Was kind of shocked. The surgain said it was at my own risk and the chance of fibrosis was 50/50.
Does anyone have any experience please?
In my experience fibrosis is not the problem, but rather loose skin. Usually older patients have looser skin. However, there is no specific age cut off. A 50 year old might be fine but someone who is 42 may not be a good candidate because of loose skin. It also has to do with the size of the mandible but that's a much longer answer!
@@DrWilliamMiami Thank you so much Doc! That is a very to the point answer.
No no loose skin yet thank God.
I had chin lipo 9 days ago but I'm not super thrilled with the results, from the side profile view. How long does it typically take to see the almost complete results? Assuming it isn't quite there yet due to swelling or some other factor?
I'm hoping that I can remove the sloped side look
What about scar underchin ?
I saw mine immediately. There is no scar tissue.
Any follow up? How's it gone?.
Where are you located?
In Miami. Here is a link to my website:
www.drwilliammiami.com/
Can you do this when getting a bbl Lipo 360 ? Would these be a a area ?
yes you can. chin lipo is considered one area of liposuction.
How long after lipo you tell patients to wear chin compression? And how many hours per day?
So this is an area where I think compression is not needed for a long period of time. I usually only have patients where compression here for 72 hours. Most patients look at me like I lost my mind when I say this but I just haven't seen a big need for compression in this area. Most people think there is excess skin here but it is the opposite.
@@DrWilliamMiami thank you!!
I know that I can’t have my bbl done with you. I would want to have my chin done with you. I scared to go to any other doctor to be honest so I gave up on the idea of a bbl
Is this the same as "jawls" liposuction?
Good question
No it is not the same-- the jowls are located a little more towards the back of the jaw and I tend not to lipo there because of the nerves of the face.

is buccal fat removal recovery just as easy?
A little bit more but not hard.
Its been 2 day post op for me. I noticed that I can not move my lower lip down (I feel it but I just can't pull it down; so when I smile you only see my upper gums). Will this go away?? I'm scared :(
I would see your surgeon. There are nerves in the area that affect mouth movement.
@@DrWilliamMiami thank you very much! I will do that! 🙏
There is a nerve called the marginal mandibular nerve that starts in the neck and traverses across the jaw line that can be susceptible with neck liposuction. Personally I only perform what is called submental liposuction which is right under the chin and avoids this nerve. I have seen marginal mandibular nerve injuries with a surgery on the carotid artery (a carotid endarterectomy) because of traction during my general surgery residency. During surgery with exposure of the carotid artery the nerve has pressure on it as the tissues are moved aside to expose the carotid so the surgery can be performed. It is a very sensitive little nerve and is responsible for movement of the lower lip. It was temporary but can take a little time to recover.
@@DrWilliamMiami thank you for this information. I had a Facetite procedure done with lipo and I know the doctor also worked om my jowls, so that might be the cause. I am glad to read that its usually temporary. I have very important trip in two months, so I really pray it will be ok by that time 🫣
Please make sure you see your surgeon though. I am not specifically talking about your case and just explaining my experience so make sure you get examined by your surgeon as I would hate for you to take this as advice specifically for your case.
well I got mine and I was told to wear the chin strap for 2 weeks. I also had 8 massages with drainage. On day 11 and I still have quite a bit of bruising but it is going away. I still have inflammation and its a bit hard under my chin.
Same here. I wore mine 24/7 for a week and I’ve been wearing it nightly since. I’m 5 weeks post op and I still have swelling and fibrosis. I’m trying to give it time, bc others are saying it can take 3-6 months to see full results.
