This is exactly what I needed ! Midway through my level II studying & a guy told me to develop some stock picking & macro economic variable opinions that I can carry with me to an interview - more so the methods to do it.
Im currently working on running regression analysis on stock returns & ME variables using excel & learning python on the side. I’m hoping all of this gets me where I want to be next year. I’ve got a stepping stone rôle before I get onto a research time that all the aforementioned stuff will open the door for.
is it really important to learn python ?
Hey r u working now?
@@DiabloNemes yes and no, you’ll do fine in the world I’ve been in (finance & business management) but to get into asset & wealth management you need something extra beyond excel and SQL. Either know the markets very well (what CFA level II should teach you how to do) or come with some skill like python. They use it in a lot of their forecasting tools. I work in a forecasting platform and 90% of the calculators are python based. So python could get you into those AWM type of roles just by being a guy who can write / fix the code powering their forecasts AND being able to understand it.
You don’t need it but there are many roles where simply havjng it could get you in since you’ll get chosen over a guy with python skill but zero finance background.
@@rahulrawat-lu8gd yeah, only been working since summer 2020 after I graduated so my experience is limited. I’m in a forecasting operations team supporting forecasting calculators many of which are in python. For me python will be my method of getting out of finance & business management and into asset & wealth management. Python along with passing the level III CFA exam cause itll seem as though I can do something with that knowledge.
Amazing

Can we get a job as an analyst without having any internship in equity research firm??
Having done equity research course, financial modeling course etc
there's a good possibility, however internships (specially for freshers) are always good starting point
