    Saved my ass as well. Thx so much! Got my adaptive headlights working again. Just and FYI for anyone reading this, my error counter was only at 14 and the FRM would not turn the light back on even though it was repaired.

      It also called cold monitoring, the pre check of all the system, good example will be as if you would install led lights somewhere in your car as angel eye, and when you open the car it will blink, for the headlights is same Procedure but it’s more complex, that’s why it’s not always the counter… I hope you get where I’m going, afterall BMW is f-top when it comes down to electronics…😅

    Hi! Thanks for lovely video!
    Uhm… I’ve installed ISTA+ (I should have installed ISTA+p but due to space!)
    So problem narrowed it down, error shown up, 0x09CBC short circuit and it identified FRM_87 so I know that’s perfect for toolset32, open FRM_87… and then look for 0x09CBC and do that reset to 70? (0x009CBC FRM: Short-circuit fault 1)
    But that error shown is it said “side front light” translated, it mean it’s short circuit to rear light, top light brake doesn’t work… (no power) everything else works fine. Just one top light passenger brake bulb.
    Also if I’m correctly, MRS5 I can do is disable 0x0093C1 on Toolset32? I’m not using bypass emulator anymore (crap!)
    I’ve got few days left to retest MOT… hopefully you can be able to help me out!
    How do I know toolset32 works perfectly?
    ISTA works super, INPA isn’t working properly (missing E87 on F1)
    Toolset32 - it might work ? I mean I open the file, FRM_87 works and I click Identify the window appear (Not result one) I assume it worked?
    Thank you! 😊

    Hello! I have a 2008 BMW 328i, which does not have the power seats or the driver's window button working. When I scan with the inpa the frm module shows me 9 errors with counters at 64. But they all have to do with lights, the strange thing is that all my lights work perfectly. Any advice to repair my window and seats. Both the window and the seats work if electricity is passed directly to the motors.

      Hey. The FRM2 have this type of problem, I’m not that knowledgeable in the toolset32 to do all type of resets, but what i can tell you is that the frm2 have known reliability issues, what I done in the past is replaced frm2 with frm3 module, it requires little bit of coding but nothing crazy, there guide on that topic.

      So BMW have such a think as intelligent battery unit. which can case any type of problems, if battery low on juice it can do anything to get enough to start the car, but if battery is week you can have variety of problems, miss-fire, some electric failure or so. check your battery/replace/register/reset the faulty memory and try again.
      obviously you have to have some type of messages in your units. so check the OBD, then do the assumption.

      @@gail6904 In Europe There lots of companies that specialize in fixing FRM units, people have like no light at all in the car, but it also can be the same issue. use the battery charger to keep your battery in the shape while you coding. I need research a bit more about that question, I would try to reset the FRM unit to the factory settings first true the NCSExpert. and then decide what to do, maybe you need to replace your FRM, at least check the internet for repair service, like that one ecuteam.com/bmw-auto-computers/bmw-frm-footwell-module/ Or eBay have a-lot of services, usually the main chip on the bord gets f-top, so you need to re-flash it. you can do it at home with a special tools X-Prog box which will require soldering and windows 7 for flashing, but easier to just sent it to some specialists, will be cheaper and 99% of the time it works. www.ebay.com/itm/FRM-2-3-Footwell-BMW-MINI-REPAIR-SERVICE-Software-Update-CODING-INCLUDED-/263494687110
      This is just examples of services, you can search it in web, there are numerous companies that do that in a week or less.

    • @Makhnovets

      try both, as far as I know it's based on the protocol it's using. if It's didn't work , its only because it's a wrong protocol. also, if you chose the wrong one it will do absolutely nothing"It might show the data, but you will not be able to reset the counter if it's wrong groupe file.". but as I showed in the video you use INPA to go to module info.

My two break lamps are not working correctly, also passenger mirror not moving left-right, test the motor it's working, so car have brain damage which is frm, check true toolset32, there no stored memory. I turned off warning lights from the dash and i-drive, and decided not to deal with it. It's not worth 500$ to spend for new frm, buy newer x5 sell the old one!) Hey and thank you a lot for this video. I'm having trouble getting my tail lights to work again. Last week I had an error message for the rear left and before I could check the bulbs at the start of this week another message for the rear right. No suprise - tail lights on both sides won't light up, if I switch them on. The bulbs were fine, so I followed your instructions. All error counters for the lamp shortcuts were 0 and after clearing the error memory of the FRM, I don't get any active error code. I've resetted the tail light counter for both sides nonetheless but to no effect. Even swapped the bulbs to brand new ones and tried again for no effect. Any ideas on what else to check coding wise? Hi. the video is about counter reset, it's all about short circuits, if you have code for a short circuit in that case you follow the guide, the thing you need to do after you write the VIN to your new FRM is to re-set the FRM to VO. via NCSExpert do the following:
      1. Load NCSExpert.
      2. Load Profile and select Expert mode
      3. F1 (VIN/ZCS/FA)
      -
      4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU)

      6. Select CAS(or whatever)
      7. F6 (BACK)
      8. F4 (Process ECU)
      9. Select the Module I want to Revert back to Stock.
      10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok
      11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO.

      Sorry for late response. The first what i wood ask is what year of the car and model. if it's 2006-7, you have to get the obd with the switch or solder the two pins, if 2008 and +, should be ok. then the INPA have couple options for your car, try to chose different one, also you can try to download database for your car if you check all the steps till now. make sure there latest drivers for the cable also! as well as the latency is set to one in device manager! Re-install the app if you still have issues czcams.com/video/uYQZcbutWcc/video.html

    • @Makhnovets
      @Makhnovets  Před 3 lety +1

      also if you not gonna be able to run the INPA after all of those steps, you can open the plastic which is covering your FRM module and check the version of it right on the module itself, my claimed as frm 2 but it has modification there so its something in between, long story short frm 2-3 gonna use same SGBD file in toolset32, so you can skeep the steps with the inpa, except make sure the cable is connected and detected which you can see on the first page of inpa app. in toolset32 after you load the SGBD grope file which is FRM_70, if the tool load the 4xWindows, means you good, if not try to load the different file as FRM_8x., go straight to the job window and look for STATUS_LAMPEN_KURZSHLUSS_COUNTER, IN WINDOW TO THE RIGHT YOU GONNA BE ABLE TO SELECT FROM 4-5 STAT, AFTER SELECTING 4, PRESS "F5" TO RUN THE JOB, TNE NEW WINDOW WILL POP UP, IT GONNA SHOW YOU THE JOB_ATATUS AT THE BOTTOM, USUALLY ITS GONNA BE 0, MEANS ALL GOOD IF 50 IT MEANS YOU REACH THE MAX AMOUNT OF ERRORS. IF YOU HAVE 0, THEN GO BACK TO JOB WINDOW, DESELECT SELECTED ITEMS AND SELECT NEW ONE, OR IF YOU KNOW PARTICULAR LIGHT BULB WHICH HAS A PROBLEM, FINDS AND RUN THE TEST WITH SELECTING IT AND PRESSING F5. HOPE IT WILL HELP!
      the last but not least if you have multiple light problems, that's mean's you have a problem with your FRM unit, that's the case with no being able to read the unit, it has too many faults, and you gonna need to repair it or buy a new on and coded if that's the case you can find the services that are specialized on fixing FRM modules for relatively cheap compare the new unit.

      4. F3 (ZCS/FA f .ECU)
      5. Choose E89 (for the E9X)
      6. Select CAS
      7. F6 (BACK)
      8. F4 (Process ECU)
      9. Select the Module I want to Revert back to Stock.
      10. F2->Choose "SG_Codieren->ok
      11. F3->to start coding the ecu with factory settings according to the vehicle VO.
      If you use a profile that has "manipulation" enabled in the settings, the software will upload the content of the .MAN file in the module when you do a SG_codieren job. (That mean it will upload the blank file) So you nee have manipulation turned off, the software will use the VO and the daten files to generate the default file that would have been found in the module originally (based on the vehicle options list)
      Try not to play with NCS as far as you don't know functionality.
      I also have couple of videos that have good explanations of how to use and what not to do! PlayList "Coding"
      Some explanation of functions if you are interested:

      CODIERDATEN_LESEN == Read out the coding data on the selected ECU.
      FGNR_LESEN == Read out VIN number (short).
      FGNR_LESEN_KURZ == Read out VIN number (long).

      FA_READ == Read out the Vehicle Order of the vehicle.
      FA_WRITE == Write the Vehicle Order of the vehicle.

    This is very stupid from bmw! Why not just erase a fault code and return the circuit to normal?
    I replaced the body module on a e83 x3 because interior lights were not working. Now i learn that the circuit just needed reset and my autocom cant do it!

      Yeah. Only BMW does that, they call it safety, but in real life, that system makes BMW look like a Clown...The f****ing check engine light is all about BMW....
