18-Year-Old School Shooter Dropped Hints on Social Media

- Eighteen-year-old Salvador Ramos, who was responsible for shooting and killing nearly two dozen people at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, posted messages on social media hinting about his plans. One post read “Wait Till Tomorrow,” and “Kids Be Scared,” along with photos of two assault rifles and a high-capacity magazine. The morning of the shooting, he sent a text to someone he knew, asking, “You gonna repost my gun pics?”
I was bullied in middle school and in high school. I played many violent video games. My parents didn’t treat me very well. At times yes, I did also feel isolated. But never once in my life did I ever think about hurting another human being. Instead I worked hard to create a future for me to be happy. This guy is truly disgusting to hurt so many innocent lives.

Add in the part for me that I also am only 18 years old and really want a AN-94, 1600 round per minute 2 shot burst because it would be fun to take to the shooting range, and the gun looks really nice, but I was bullied, teased, and go through alot of dark times, never thought about hurting another person or myself, yet of course the gun I want to own will be illegal in a few years, actually it already is because of all the idiots on both sides and the mental maniacs that run around with them. Canada is the best bet for a good life.

I play violent video games, I was bullied and treated badly by my parents, and I didn't graduate high school. I would never even think to hurt someone I cant even bring myself to go hunting. There is something else wrong with these people... something deep inside of them that causes these horrible acts.

The media has an automated system on political posts, so obviously they will be removed first as to make sure misinformation is not spread. Although posts with "shoot", "kill", "killing", "shooting" should be looked for and a manual checkup should be initiated.

Violent games do not make a killer, but killers do tend to play violent video games. It's unfortunate that the government and media continue to pass the blame off on video games and other media and not fix the core issue, better mental health treatment, and gun control.
Same here. Been playing games since the Commodore 64. In point of fact, I despise and abhor violence in real life. Doesn't mean I don't think it's fun to *pretend* I'm shooting guns or casting lightning magic or running a truck off a bridge into a building. I enjoy it *because* it's not real and I know the difference between fantasy and reality.

I have speech impediment, I've been bullied for it, I'm not living in a good household, and I play shooter games. I have never thought about doing such things ( as in shooting my own family members or a school ). People should realize how life can be so much better if you gave it a chance instead of throwing it away. He didn’t, he was already being chased by law enforcement officers. His original target was a high school with a kill list that his girlfriend and some friends were going to help him with. The officers chased him down to the elementary school and did his shooting there since he wasn’t going to get out, so he took his vengeance there.

Perhaps... but what I was pointing out, was that this video reported that he was able to go unnoticed for so long despite the many "hints" he gave. He didn't leave hints tho... there was no vagueness, and his statements seemed clearly threatening. So it's REALLY surprising he went unnoticed.

I was bullied relentlessly during high school to the point I still remember the first and last names of the three main bullies all these years later. The difference between myself and this creature is I didn’t 🔫 innocent people to get “revenge” my revenge was living a great life and leading by example in the lives of my children teaching them that bullying isn’t cool. Teach your children kindness, compassion, communication and empathy for others. The world should be a playground for kids not a war zone. ♥️

I praise everything you have said. I never was bullied in school but I didn’t like seeing people get bullied. Most bullies have issues that they hide by bullying other people. Having a great life and leading by example is best thing you can do. In my eyes doing what that monster done just makes him weak and pathetic. I was real life bullied. It made me love people more, to have compassion because I never knew what they could be going through at home.
I was bullied in Middle school currently a junior in high school. My parents and brothers treated me very bad. I focused on myself and my future. I would never dare hurt innocent people like this disgusting person did.

Whoever reads this, I hope you stay safe and if you ever have thoughts of harming anyone or yourself, seek help. It might be scary to ask for help, but it’s better than doing something you’ll regret.
What help? There is no mental health assistance in most states.
Great message. I think it's important for people to talk about life with eachother and espeacially try to strike up conversations with people who we may not be the most familiar with. It may sound mushy, but reaching out can make all the difference.

I was bullied at school, had no friends and suffered from depression but I wouldn’t do what Mr. Ramos did. I turned for help from my administrators at school they helped me out from the things I was going through. I even joined a club at school and made friends. This guy did the complete opposite he turned to young innocent little kids and killed them. Hope the families of those beautiful angels find peace God Bless them with lots of peace.
I'm glad you found help but, you shouldn't have been bullied. Not everyone is lucky enough to find help. I am not saying he is not guilty of what he did or that it's justified. Nothing can justify such an atrocious act. What I am saying is that bullying needs to be taken a lot more serious. I am sure a lot of students and staff were aware of the bullying that was going on and did nothing to help the student. This might have been prevented with a little more empathy.

Exactly...I was bullied too. My parents made me fight mine. I lost some but I won others. Not the best technique but I NEVER picked up a gun nor knife and hurt a SOUL!!! we grew up in a crime violent area and didn't have money. But I'm now not only an Army Vet but a former Deputy Sheriff, I'm a mother of a junior in college and I work as a contractor for the Navy with a Master's Degree... so this young evil flesh/bone just wanted to destroy...

This is why I’m always getting anxiety at school I happen to live by uvalde I watch videos on how to prepare if there ever is shooting at my school, it frightens me every day what those kids had to go through.

Video games have nothing to do with this neither does being a loner. I played it my whole life and so does my brother and neither of us has even thought about killing anyone let alone children. I was a loner at school too. I think I’ve had one friend my whole life and I was extreme anti social. During my middle and high school years I was homeless as well and my parents where always fighting and hitting each other as well as verbally abusing each other. I had to wear the same clothes everyday and went days with ought food because my parents couldn’t afford to feed us. The best days where when our food stamps arrived but that didn’t last us the whole month. We lived in a hotel after a while and we would eat whatever the cleaning staff would give us (other peoples left overs). At this time I was also bullied at school and isolated because I “smelled” which was because I couldn’t wash my clothes. So yeah I had every single symptom of becoming a shooter but never did because I’m not mentally insane and weak like this guy was. Hopefully he’s rotting in hell.

It wasn’t final minutes unfortunately, it was over an hour before the police confronted the shooter… as parents were freaking out at them to do something the whole time and one mom was able to get her kids out on her own because police wouldn’t help

This happened on my birthday, and I just turned 18. When I saw “shooting” on a news report for a split second, I only thought they were talking about the one in Buffalo. It makes me feel terrible that while I was eating cake and taking medicine, these children were being murdered. Absolutely horrifying.

Bullies have bully parents. Abused kids always end up as bullies or being bullied. The thing is that bullies always find one or two of the same kind (there's often an alpha bully) and they isolate one victim and target him/her. All the others stand by the bullies or don't get involved because they don't want to be the next target.
I've been bullied in middle school and the 3 main mean girls were the instigators then all the kids follow. This guy should have gone after his bullies and not some random kids, he basically projected his hate onto someone else.

I was heavily bullied all through elementary and middle school, I NEVER ONCE thought of killing innocent people. Never ONCE did I have the thought to take the lives of those around me. This isn’t a case of being bullied and a breakdown- this is some deep rooted evil in this child. He wanted this way before.

The story now is he went through a backdoor that was unlocked, then down a corridor to another area then a hallway and the classroom. But it's also said he shot at 2 armed security guards and proceeded the back way. It will be weeks until we actually know the truth. It's just heartbreaking 💔
No security measures in place. Doors were unlocked , no one to guard the door during session. Anyone can just walk in. My high school was like this in Cali. There were no gates locked.

I also was bullied in elementary, Jr high, and high school, played violent video games, never had friends in my life, got involved with arguments with my family, dropped out of college, and keep bouncing around what I want to do. There’s no way I would harm other human beings. They have nothing to do with my problems, I chose to be grateful for everything I have: a wife that loves me, a vehicle to drive around, relatives that adore me, and a mom that supported my struggles

If I was to send a text to a coworker of mine saying wait until tomorrow, showed him 2 assault rifles and clips, then an hour before showing up to work saying customers be scared and I have a secret, I would expect there to be cops waiting for me in the parking lot as soon as I pulled in and thats if they already hadnt been at my house to investigate the issue.

I was bullied all my life in my high school, because I was in special needs, but never in my life would I ever do such harm to anyone, having no friends sucked, but I survived and lived on. Killing was never and should never ever be an option.

Just got my cap and gown yesterday. It’s so horrifyingly sad that this happened only three days after the senior clap-out, when they were giving high fives to those graduating. This is why I was friends with all the loners back when I was in High School. I was actually one of the popular kids and the other popular kids were confused as to why I wouldn't hang out with them, but chose to hang out with the ones that were loners. Well, I knew why. Because I knew, that no one wants to be an outcast. Everyone needs a friend. When someone is shunned, ignored, and bullied, they feel only regret. These people, lose all hope in living, and then, just want everyone to suffer like they do, and then this happens. I was friends with all the loners, and school was mostly peaceful. Sure there were at times fights between two people, but that was the maximum. Everyone needs a friend, and teachers should start doing their jobs better, and start giving out harsher punishments to those that bully others, instead of just sending them to the office with a letter...

Same here. This was decades ago but now looking back I’m glad I did. Some of the “outcasts” were some of the coolest, most artistic, fun, goofy and interesting ppl I ever met. I still think about them to this day and I’m grateful that they actually made my high school years memorable. I never let anyone bully anybody. I would stand up for my friends and neutralize the bullies.
I honestly believe there should be a law that students need to travel out of their state, country or comfort bubble and be exposed at an early age to other cultures and ways of life. You admire and pick up what you like, leave any pettiness behind and realize there’s a bigger world that needs whatever talent you can bring to the table.
