My hubby and I had a romance through the mail! He was drafted into the Army and stationed in South Korea. We married shorty after his return. This brought back so many memories. We have celebrated 58 years of marriage this year
I remember you and your wonderful family when you were stationed at Ft Bragg - many many years ago. We had some great times together. I still have a casserole carrier you made for me and I cherish it. We are now in our seventies and you still hold a special place in my heart. Blessings to all of you- Lorna
Awww, thank you so much Lorna! It's funny, you actually came to mind not that long ago. I wondered how you were doing. I am touched that you still have the casserole carrier. ❤
@@CosmopolitanCornbread Thank you- continue to be you
What a beautiful story! I love stories like that.
My dad was from the South and stationed in PA in the Army. He ask my mom to marry him the first day he meet her. Less then a year they did marry. He passed away right before their 50th anniversary!
Very sweet story that debunks today's issues of living together to make sure you are compatible.
Thank y'all for your service. I am a retired military wife married 40 years. God has blessed us greatly with grace to stay together through it all. Blessings to you both for more memorable time together until our time on earth is done❤🙏
So sweet! Thank you Constance. May you and Mr. Smith have many more blessed years together!
What a leap of faith. Letters are powerful and the anticipation of a weekly or daily letter expressing ones private thoughts. Glad the right guy received your first note. Thanks for your story.
What a wonderful story! Your grandchildren will treasure this one day!
How sweet. Letter writing can be so romantic.
A wonderful and Beautiful story. Reminds me a little of my grandparents story. They wrote many letters and only saw each other in person 3 times before they married. They had 6 children and married over 60 years. I don't recall exactly now. And my grandpa was 28 when they married and grandma was 17. ❤ I just love hearing love stories.
That’s amazing!
What an amazing story! Both my husband and I were born in MN, but lived in WI. We have spent about 15 years time in AL and SC because he worked in tire manufacturing and the WI plant he worked at for over 20 years closed. Now retired and married 53 years in 2 weeks, we are back in WI where we can walk on water. I think our amazing Lord and Heavenly Father picked you both out to be together and you both heeded His direction for your life! My mom and gramdmas were also quilt makers. They were from dairy farm roots in Pierce County.
Michelin? Or BF Goodrich?
What a wonderful story. Congratulations on 33 years!
So precious ❤❤ Happy 33 years together and so many more!!
My husband and I had a short time of "dating" .... we met in February 1969, got married March 29, 1969 .... still together .... 😊❤ So good to hear your story ..❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. I cried and laughed. It is a beautiful story. Only God could have been the architect of it all.
What a Lovely story! My hubby's grandparents married two weeks after they met. They had over 60 years together before she passed. My hubby and I knew on our first date that we had just met our future. Sometimes you just know.
This was so beautiful! From your grandparents to your grandkids and all the life and love between- wow💜
Constance, thank you so much for sharing your story! My husband and I also met in the Army, so as you spoke I was able to envision things just as they were. My husband was at ft, dix before getting stationed at ft. stewart, where we would meet and come together! I remember Sunday Chapel well! Loved your story and the photos! FYI we are now in our 60"s and retired.
What a beautiful beginning! As a military family, I can identify with your story. We are 47 yrs. married. You are blessed!
I got choked up watching this! So sweet! Thank you for sharing.
How beautiful, sweet, innocent, precious, and God directed!! Kind of an old fashioned story of meeting, love, and marriage too! Thankyou so much for sharing your story with us! The letters from your grandmothers are such a treasure. I cherish all that I’ve kept of mine from my grandparents too. Much love! And God bless you!
Beautiful story, beautiful family! Thank you for sharing.
Love your grandma…”I made a matching baby quilt!” ❤ Beautiful love story! ❤
Oh my, 1979, Navy basic, Orlando FL. Yes, church was an escape and a joy all in one. We could talk freely to our brother company only at that time. Such a wonderful memory ❤ oh my that pg 2 is important ❤
Wow, what a beautiful story. I live in Georgia now, but in 1991, I was in Washington, DC working. And yes, I am about 20 miles from Dallas, Georgia, so I know exactly where you are talking about. I hope that you both continue this life's journey for many more years together. Thanks to both of you for your service.
Love your love story. My husband went into the Marines the very same time yall did. He was in the Gulf War. He was also in the ground war. Eight Marines rolled up on a Company of 160 Iraq's. He's gunner's gun jammed up, (50 cal.) and he froze. So James,( my husband) ran across every one firing at each other and unjammed his gun. The 8 Marines took them all out. He was awarded the Bronze Star with a Combat V. My Father was a Colonel for 20 years.West Point He wrote all the new letters every week for many many years. You all, I'm sure read some of those. WOW small world. Big Hugs, enjoy your videos!
What a sweet story!!! Thanks for sharing!!! This fall will be our 40th anniversary. My husband lived in OH and I was from PA. We met in VA doing a term of VS at a nursing home. Yes we mailed lots of letters after our terms were up. That was before cell phones and emails. We did phone calls on some weekends. We got married a year after we met.
Precious love story!! I thank you and Mr Smith for your service to our country!!
Such a lovely story of you and Mr. Smith meeting! So very precious and all the best to you both. All the best ... God Bless.
That is a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing. My own story is different but also wonderful. We had 32 years of marriage when he suddenly had a brain aneurysm. It took me many years to come out of grief but even though I am now remarried, I will never forget our years together. Praise God for every day you have together. God Bless you both.
I am sorry for your loss. I warms my heart though, to know that the memories you have are a blessing!
Loved your story! Thank you so much for sharing it. Back in 1978, when I was in Marine Corp boot camp, I attended chapel for the same reason you did. Sadly there were no nice guys in attendance. I do remember gettling in a bit of a tussle with one of my squad mates on the way to chapel. My drill instructor was mortified at us, and we both paid dearly.
My husband was also stationed at Fort Eustis back in the early 90's. Thank you both for your service. What a beautiful story, thanks for sharing.
Constance, I think that is the most romantic love story I have ever heard. You told your story so beautifully...you have a real knack.

What a sweet life story. How blessed you are to have those letters. Thank you for sharing.
My husband and I had our first date Memorial Day weekend. On the beach! Both of us were in the Navy. I had to leave because I pulled duty. I invited him to dinner…..we’ve been together for 50 years! Married in August and everyone said it wouldn’t last. My MIL called me ‘that woman’ for two or three months. We did become friends.
I love it!
What a lovely story. Being so young and stepping out into married life was quite brave of you both. I am so glad neither of you disappointed the other. Wishing you many more years of life together.
Beautiful story Constance. You and your husband have been truly Blessed. I pray that y'all are continually Baruch. Shalom

Mr Smiths sister as a child looks just like your granddaughter!!
What a sweet story! Thanks for sharing!!
I love that grandma made a matching baby blanket! She was also prepping! LOL
I made quilts for my babies while pregnant and I also made them for my grandbabies🥰
What a wonderful love story. Some things are just meant to be. Me being an avid quilter. I would love to see that quilt that your grandmother made. What a priceless gift. Maybe you could show it sometime. God bless you both. And I so enjoy everything you do. I don't miss a thing lol. What an interesting life our Lord has given you. And. I know He considers you a good and faithful servant. You take care of His land.... His creation.... His animals.... and preach His word. You are a blessing Miss Constance. Love you. And may the Lord give you all the desires of your heart. Linda from Rhode Island
Thank you and your husband for your service to our once great country!! My Grandfather won the DSC with Valor in WWI while in the ARMY. My daughter was at Fort Gordon for her training. My son served 2 deployments in Afghanistan in the ARMY.
This is such a wonderful story, how God brought you together with one note! That is a teaching in itself!! Thank you and your husband for service to our country. So enjoyed your beautiful photos!!❤
March 10th is mine and my husband's Anniversary. So cool!! 🥰 God Bless you both! 🙏

Army Veteran here too. 1984 to 1988. Ft McClellan Basic Training. Then Germany.
Hohenfels , Grafenwöhr, Kaiserslautern. Had the time of my life. Our chapel in Basic was NO females. No where. lol 😂. Thank you for your service. God Bless 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thank you for sharing your story. My aunt and uncle were married for 63 years before they passed. I made two large bags to put their letters to each other in to bury with my aunt. The early years of their marriage, my uncle was in the Navy and in college. They wrote to each other every day. May you both be blessed for many more years together.
Constance, what a divine appointment you had at your first chapel visit! How fortunate you were and are! THANK YOU for such a beautiful and inspirational sharing of your life. G-d Bless!
Constance, what a beautiful story! Thank you for sharing it. ❤
After graduating from Nursing school in 1982, I married my sweetheart and we both joined the Army. Basic was at Ft. Jackson, SC, AIT and duty station was Ft. Same Houston, TX. I had my only child there and 19 years later, he joined the Army and served two tours in Afghanistan.
When this video came out I was all but delirious with a whole bunch of things gone wrong and converging at one point in time snd space. What a fun and sweet way to spend some time in the wee hours when I am awake and alert after I finally "woke up". Your dress was perfect.
I smiled all the way through. If only people would focus on loving each other sweetly, how life would change.
Don't forget to repost this for Valentines Day. 💖
Thank you for sharing your story Constance! Mr. Smith was smitten from the start. You can see it in how he looks at you in the pictures. My husband and I had a quick wedding in 1991 as well, after he returned home from serving in Kuwait during Desert Storm! We communicated by letters and middle of the night (for me) phone calls once a month! God Bless you both!
People nowadays are shocked when I tell them we got ONE phone call a month when he was gone. They can't imagine. But then of course in the more recent deployments, where we had the ability to video chat nearly every day, it was almost like he wasn't even gone. Almost.
I watched the whole video as I always do, but I had to pause a couple times because you had me crying so much. What a complete leap of Faith you and Mr Smith took,.knowing it truly was faith that this was what was right and true. One of the most beautiful live stories I think I will ever hear in my life. God bless both of you for your faith, for your service to our country and for sharing of with all of us.❤
My husband and I met when he was active duty Navy, stationed in Alameda, CA. We met on AOL chat while he was on leave visiting his family. We met in person a week later. He was shipped out to sea for 6 months. We were married 2 months after he returned. We have been married 28 years, have 4 children and 2 grandchildren so far. This video brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for sharing!
Oh Constance that is such a sweet story and how your face lights up when you tell it. What wonderful memories. I’m so happy you found each other. It’s obvious it’s Gods plan all along.
Such a sweet and beautiful story to brighten our day. I know that the Lord must be smiling!
