Black American Islamic expressions have their roots in the United States, influenced by African, Caribbean, and indigenous traditions. These expressions bring new perspectives to the faith and contribute to the richness and diversity of global Islam. Ignoring or devaluing these contributions through the lens of hegemonic Islam not only denies the uniqueness of black American Muslim experiences but also propagates a form of cultural erasure.

As immigrants arrive in the United States, they are often confronted with societal expectations and pressures to conform to existing norms that prioritize whiteness. This assimilation process further perpetuates the belief that aspiring to whiteness is a prerequisite for achieving upward mobility and accessing greater opportunities.

The answer is easy. Institutional racism keeps wealth, power, and equity under the law segregated. If you haven't heard the answer, you haven't spoken to those who know shaykh ... Do you think Dr. Amos Wilson didn't know? Our brother attorney Hakeem Muhammd knows ... he has written several books on the subject ... just because the layman doesn't know the answer to your question doesn't mean there is no answer.

WHAT! Did he say he was afraid that african american Muslims' voice would be lost in mixed of political confusion is one of the reasons why he held the African American Muslim conference. Come on brother, really. That comment is(in my opinion) a slap in the to Imam W.D Mohammad hard work and that huge community that he was over that exist all over the united states. You do know that Imam Mohammad community is predominantly 99% african americans. How is that even possible for the voice of african American Muslims to be lost. The work that Imam Mohammad nationally and internationally along with many hard working imam of these local masjids, are nothing short of a miracle. And I personally do not believe strongly in miracle, At all. Given that he know our community very well, why would you cast shade on Imam Mohammad's legacy and his community.
