    Hello everyone. 😀
As you will hear in this video, I've always personally struggled with oily skin which in my teens came hand in hand with acne and then of course hyperpigmentation!
This video is to educate about why some of us have oilier skin than others, what you can do to control the oil and which ingredients to look out for so you can make an informed decision when choosing your skincare products.
If you are watching because you also struggle with this, say hiiii 😁 and let me know what works for you.
If you are watching just for general education, curiosity, research etc, I would also love to hear your thoughts, comments or questions.
    Thank you ❤️
I've tried to incorporate products that are easily available in drugstores or online.

If anyone is thinking of trying this skin care routine, I'm here to tell you to DO IT!!! I have been using the exact products that are mentioned, except using the ordinary niacidamide serum, and my skin is transforming! My oil is at bay, my pores look smaller, my texture and pigmentation is disappearing every day. I have had acne and large pores and oily skin since I was a young child and have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a skin care routine that works... from drug store to super high end products.. and nothing has worked as well as this! The face theory moisturizer is amazing, it does pill up a bit if you use too much, but it blurs my pores when I put it on and keeps my skin looking natural and satin like through the day!! While providing great hydration, of course. I thought the clarifying cleanser would clog my pores since it is more of a creamy formula, but if you let it sit on your skin for a minute after applying it has a chance to penetrate into your skin and leaves it looking so nice and not dry or stripped after. The retinol serum by cera ve is also a game changer, I've tried a few retinols that just irritate my skin or break me out, but this one is the perfect strength and I am able to use it every night without any irritation. Everyone's skin is different but I can't say enough good things about this routine, and if you're looking to manage your oily skin I highly recommend this!!! Thank you Dr Simi!!! 😊

Thank you 🙏🏾 great advice. I am incorporating many of these steps for my oily skin routine and it’s working. But I definitely would like to incorporate the la roche posay 50+ spf and the a few of the face therapy products. Great job explaining each products purpose and your akin care routine. This is very helpful. Any suggestions on products best for getting rid of hyperpigmentation from acne scars?

Thank you for this educational video. I really like that you incorporate all kinds of skin tones and types into your videos. Although I don’t have black skin, I’m really interested in learning about other skin types as well and how different kind of products are received by different kinds of skin colors and types.
I do have a combination skin and really sensitive and acne prone as well. I used to think i had oily skin, but after trying so many different kind of products, I finally found the products that work for me and don’t make me oily anymore. Just a little in the T-zone and dryer around my cheeks and next to my nose. I have been using the products from Esse for about 2 years now and it really calmed my skin down. I still have acne, but not as severe as it used to be. I also prefer using products that are great for sensitive skin(like the Esse sensitive cleaner & moisturizer) but still affective for my combination and acne prone skin.
But I would really like to know; maybe you could use this topic in a next video: how to clear acne scars and redness without retinol. (I tried Differin before but it was way too harsh for my super reactive/sensitive skin, it was so painful). Hope you can take that into account:)
Thank you and keep going! 🤗☀️

Or does it work for some?..

I have found that my breakouts are worse around my mouth & in my eyebrows. My sebum is really bad & I am wondering if shaving would help? I try to keep the hairs around my mouth & eyebrows plucked, but as soon as hair starts to grow, I will get thick, red breakout. I’ve tried f several things to remove hair because I have a lot of it. Thank you for your help & I really enjoyed your video.

Oddly enough, I have climate-sensitive skin. When I was living in a drier area, my skin was so dehydrated that sometimes, I wouldn't have proper acne, and instead the sebum and trapped push would make the skin above peal and crack instead of forming a pustule. I much prefer pustule acne to this. A lot less painful, but at the same time, sweating is less comfortable in a wetter climate, as the sweat can't evaporate. My hair could go up to two weaks without washing before feeling greasy, it was rough in texture (enough that I could style my entire head of hair on a single pencil) and quite prone to splitting. Now, that I live in a moister climate, I get a lot more oily skin, black heads and greasy hair. My hair stopped splitting, is longer than ever before, which is nice, but now I have exessive dandruff and need to wash my hair more often.
I notice that people who live in areas that are moisture tend to have more acne, but look younger, while in drier climates, pre-mature aging is the norm, and I have seen some guys and girls in highschool look like they are fourty, while in moister areas, when I worked at the convenience store, I asked middle-aged clients for their ID, because I grew up in an area where pre-mature aging is so prevalent.

@Lilas.Duveteux yes climate does really affect the skin, for example during the winter I have less breakouts but I have also noticed having a skincare routine that is tailored to different seasons has really improved my skin lets say during the summer. I have also been using tips from a FREE ebook that is linked here on my youtube profile. It has helped me, I hope it helps you too🥰
