Suzuki VanVan long term review

Having owned the VanVan for almost 5 years I wanted to give an update on my opinion of the bike and my experiences of ownership.
Background
I have owned my current VanVan since January 2016 (from new) having previously owned a 600 sports tourer. it is my second VanVan (I owned a 2003 carb model before the 600).
I have used it for just about everything from daily commuting to work (in all weathers), shopping, long distance rides (including on motorways) to off road riding and mini adventures. I still continue to use it for all of these things to this day and even brought it with me when I moved country (a testament in itself to how much I love this bike).
In the time I have owned the bike I have made a number of modifications to make it more practical and personal to me while maintaining the bikes classic style and character (mostly).
this review is intended to give my opinions of the bike from the view of a long term owner. it should be noted that I am a big fan of the VanVan and so my opinions are obviously biased in its favour however I do try to be as honest as I can about the bikes capabilities and the kind of rider I think it is suited to.
