Screaming Chickens, My Crazy Chickens love to Scream, The Funny Noises Chickens Make

- Hens and Roosters make all sorts of animal noises. Animal sounds that you have to hear to believe! My funny Chicken screams will make you amazed and laugh. Here is a sampling of screaming chickens, a few of their calls and sounds on the farm in the barn yard coop while trying to lay their eggs.
With the greatest sadness, I need to report that our roo Jethro (featured in this video) has passed. He was treated with respect and kindness all his born days. He had it good with the girls. There was no sign of illness, he was ailing one evening and passed the next morning. The girls have been fine so it was not anything contagious. He was always a little delicate, catching colds when no one else did. Possibly because of his size, his little heart just finally gave out. Oh I miss Jethro, it is so quiet, I can't stand it.
My personal belief is that the rooster ban in cities due to noise is ridiculous and idiotic. I live in Seattle and believe me with a the construction and traffic noise, a rooster would be a welcome change to the cacophony of man made noise...
It doesn't matter if you have 10 nest boxes either, they will still fight over the same one.
Our Roo will join in when our girls sing the egg song and I remind him that he is not a chicken lol. The girls can get loud and proud though when they lay an egg. I would too.

The hens are all doing the Egg Song, it's not a conflict. The Roo joined in too. It's a ritual relating to laying.

I have 1 hen that screams so loud, I have yet to find another one on CZcams that does this. It sounds more like a peacock or monkey. Very strange.

I love how Jethro started scratching and making the treat sound to try and lure the girls so they would shut up. LOL. Mine did that too when the girls quarreled.
When we first got our chickens we got 6 of them. We got them as chicks from a Tractor Supply store and took them home. As they grew, we found out that 2 of them were actually roosters, and because we live in a suburban neighborhood, we were forced to get rid of the roosters due to the rules of the neighborhood association. I hated to get rid of those 2 roosters not only because we loved them as our pets, but also because they were such great protectors of the hens from hawks. Yes, the roosters cock-a-doodle-doo'ed often, but if you ask me, the dogs in our neighborhood that constantly bark are far louder than our roosters ever were.
Love it how he picks up the pebble to do anything he can to attract someone to come out of the box, lol
Love the chickens. I use to help my neighbor with hers. As we approached the coops they always sounded like they were singing. Never forget those sweet sounds

Why am i searching for chicken sounds?
I love the sound of roosters, luckily I live in rural area. This was fun to watch and to know that others enjoy the weird noises chickens make.
