Steve from custom tt has year's of experience with blades and rubbers , his custom blade's are quality and great value from beginner to expert blade's, he used to sell all makes of manufacturers blade's but has now got his own custom blade's which are amazing, his rubber fitting service that he supplies is second to none, if you buy a factory made bat you cannot remove the rubber without damage to rubber or blade but the factory ones are okay if not a serious player. I've been a long time customer of Steve's and have bought several makes of blade's with different rubbers fitted and all my rubbers can be removed and change still with no damaged to the blades after 5 years of playing, he does seal the blade's before fitting the rubbers they dont at the factory. If your a developing player it's good to have a blade your comfortable with and just change the rubbers when you feel your game has gone to another level.

I got a nice DHS 6002 paddle back in my college days and grew to love that paddle. About a year ago I bought the dhs 9002 and I was very disappointed, the hurricane rubbers were fake. It is what got me buying my own blade and rubber now.

How do we recognize the fake one?

@ramysamy5645 I didn't look up the whole paddle. Just the nunber from the silver sticker it came with on the DHS verification website. That website changes a lot tho so you will have to look it up. It has "hurricane 3" and "hurricane 8" rubber on it and you can also look up the numbers on that too. The funny thing was the hurricane 3 was fake when I looked it up but apparently the hurricane 8 was not fake lol.... strange.

I think you're being very unfair on DHS. What sets DHS apart from other manufacturers like Stiga, Butterfly etc, is their cheap bats do actually use proper rubbers, most with Hurricane 3 (most world champions use this rubber). My friend for example, played for a couple of years with a heavy hurricane bat, developing perfect technique and good arm speed. When it came to upgrading, he got a PG7 with Hurricane 3 and was able to hit the ground running. His technique perfectly matched the rubber as it was the same, no real learning curve and now he can replace it as much as he wants.
This couldn't be said of the cheap bats with the player's face on the front (Syed, Pitchford, Samsonov etc), where the rubber has virtually no grip and serious players wouldn't use the model.
Sure, Mark V, Vega, gambler etc are good beginner rubbers but eventually a serious player will want to upgrade and then upgrade again until they get to Dignics etc.
If you start with Hurricane on your first bat you can get world class spin potential from day 1 and continue using it for the rest of your life on faster blades.
I think this is better from a coach's perspective for development purposes.

Right. And save money too. A ready made bat costs around 20$ with at least 15$ rubber each + at least 20$ blade. I will choose the ready made bat.
There is no right or wrong about ready made or assembled bat. It depends on your skill and the bat that you buy.
Yes, stars means something, you just need to read the spec and buy from the popular brands and you will meet many good ready made bats.
150$ assembled bat from butterfly may have similar feelings and playing quality of some ready made bat of 30$.
