  • The pixel 3 versus iPhone 11 Pro is probably the most anticipated camera comparison we've worked on. This camera comparison pits the Pixel 3 versus the iPhone 11 Pro to show off the capabilities of their cameras for capturing photos and recording video.

Ciprian Beniuga did the same switch. I only miss the front facing cameras. The iPhones front facing camera is still horrible for a flagship, especially in middle to low light.
For Videos the iPhone is miles ahaid of the pixel 3, and probably every other phone.

Excellent comparison video. I really like the wide-angle comparisons. There were so many photos that were ties because of just how close they were in quality, dynamic range, and colour reproduction. A handful of photos were toss-ups: both equally good, but deciding which was better was down to subjective taste based on whether you prefer a more saturated, "prettier" photo or a clearer, more true to life photo. However, there were definitely wins on both sides. In my opinion, there were 14 Pro photos that definitively beat their Pixel counterpart and 15 Pixel photos that beat their Pro counterpart. So, I'd say they are (on average) fairly evenly matched in the stills department with the Pixel having a more appealing exposure on photos. However, the iPhone seems to take the cake for rear camera videography, producing cleaner, punchier looking videos. But, the OIS and digital stabilization on the Pixel appear to produce steadier shots, and on the front facing cameras, the videos seem to come out sharper/more in-focus than on the iPhone front-facing camera. That being said, if I had to choose a winner, I would say Pixel for still images (close call) and iPhone for video. But considering the Pixel is a year old flagship with a single camera, I think praise is in order for managing to still go toe-to-toe with a brand new flagship with 3 rear sensors. It may lack the versatility that comes with having a multi-camera rear set-up, but Google proves that software can be just as important and game- changing as hardware. And Apple has made amazing strides in low-light photography and dynamic range with the 11 series. So, I think at the end of the day, it really comes down to personal preference as to which camera produces the "best" photos. Admittedly, a lot of the iPhone photos look "prettier" and many people would like the colourful, bright images produced by the camera, but I personally prefer cameras with better exposure and a wider dynamic range, even if it means having less colourful (more true to life) photos.

The multi-lens config on the back is a plus on the iPhone, but the Pixel has that on the front. Also, the Pixel 4 is supposed to have 3 lenses on the back, so that will be a much better comparison.

What is with the choppiness while panning videos on the 11 pro? Seems like front facing camera is also pretty poor on the 11 with dynamic range. Tons of overblown highlights. At 5:55 the clouds are also overblown and that's with the rear set of cameras. In the night shot at 6:47, drive way is super soft and mushy, and I am assuming the shot right after is with both phone's night modes activated, in which case they look pretty similar. I will say, the 11 pro's images do seem to come out a little sharper, but in most landscape views is not noticeably sharper than the P3.
The major fault the P3 has is dynamic range in videos and overall video quality. Selfie cam does better at night than the 11 selfie cam.
To me both are trading blows, which is amazing given that the Pixel is an older phone.

I thought most content creators use 24fps for best frame rate anyway? You could use the same lenses on the iphone 11 pro on the main sensor and get night mode etc too...but you are paying alot for that phone ..but it might be worth it..the ultra wide on the 11 pro is meh. If you use the 58mm with the telefoto lens on the iphone or pixel 4 you are in effect getting 114mm lens. All those lenses and case are still less than the iphone 11 pro

In alot of the night shots the Iphone 11 Pro was blowing out big time on the lights, check out the first night picture and look at the right corner window on the garage to the left of the light it's super blown. That Bloom though is just poor but realisticlly still a good camara just not a Pixel Camara. My thought of why the Pixel camara is so good is the Contrast and the proccesing like pictures of your face look INCREDIBLY Naturel with the Pixel no other phones even comes close to pulling that off.

I’d say from my time with my current phone (Iphone 11) and my time with the pixel 3 and 3xl when I owned them. I’d say photography is pixel all the way but videos are hands down iPhone 11/11pro all the way

The IPhone 11 (Pro) does have have a wider angle view for the front facing selfie camera. It goes from the 8 megapixel 12 megapixel for the wide angle.

The iphone wins because of versatility. Main camera images are however equally good on both. iPhone prefers brighter and natural images. And pixel prefers contrastier and natural images. It comes down to personal preference.

I would like an iPhone 11 Pro, but here in Hungary it is unaffordable for me. I have a Pixel 2 phone that is compatible with a Pixel 3 camera. But after watching the video, apart from the zoom, the iPhone is weaker than the Pixel in many cases! My Pixel was $90 used :)
