  • Thank you for joining us for this week's Tying Tuesday! Today we have Garrison Doctor from Rep Your Water in the studio tying up this beast of a stonefly pattern, called the Flexy Stone. This thing is a beast and although it looks intimidating, it's actually a lot of fun to tie up. The body tubing gives this stonefly imitation a great segmented abdomen/wing case profile. The dubbing blend used on all the segments is super buggy and really enhances the look of this fly! The three brass beads helps get it down, but it's not too heavy at the same time. Let us know in the comments what modification(s) you might make, and how well it fishes for you!

I emailed Garrison about some details on his cool pattern and he responded back. As far as tubing goes, he uses 1/8" tubing and he said he uses 3.3mm Umpqua Radiant Beads.

Good afternoon, there is a recipe listing in the details section as well as on our blog. Is there something I can help you locate?

What size of tubing did you use?

It looks like the 1/4 inch tubing, but I will reach out and see.
