the thing I love about these beats is that there’s a program i still use called LMMS and it has stock early 2000 synths and plugins, it’s like a hidden gem for jump style and overall other ethereal beats

how do you make the synth coming in at 1:05
It is a square wave (same one as the "bass" synth actually)
There is also a lot of EQing going on here as well so I think I chopped the top and low end off too. My computer is broken right now otherwise I'd be able to give you more info

Sounds like a little bit of compression and a low pass filter to me.
think its some sort of bitcrush plugin
a think i do that works is to take the sample speed it like 10 times original speed and then export and then stretch it out and it sounds like low quality and also takes away a lot of high end. also add bitcrush for extra yabujin feel
