By the time he plays his mind will be in right place and he will be studying very hard for that million dollars or whatever the prize money is. That's all he cares about at this point. Gukesh will do well but not well enough. Ding is still a 2800 player in his right mind and Gukesh is yet to to prove he can reach 2800.

    At 9:24 wouldn't r×g2+ , then rg1+ buy time for black to get away with the queen?

    • @tomrejor4842
      @tomrejor4842 Před měsícem +4

      If the rook doesn't defend the pawn on h6 then you can just take the pawn with queen and the King has no square to go to, so at that point you'll need to block with the queen.
      If you play queen to h7 (or anywhere that defends the pawn) to preemptively block then rook takes and you lose your queen anyway, and if you move anywhere else like let's say keep your queen on the 7th rank to block queen takes with queen blocks, then you can even deliver a knight checkmate.
      So you end up with your queen doomed whatever happens, you won a few moves but nothing you can really do with those.

I suppose all of you know a great deal more than I-especially with engines. Oh yeah, contrary to all of the experts, computers, which lack a personality can beat the best GM, right? Ding should really try some lower level game, like around 2700, to at aleast gain some confidence. Draw offer in a winning position or weird blunders during classical, this is totally disaster. Still pround of him, but maybe it's time to restart no matter what title he is holding.

    Your comment on night forking Queen and Rook is flawed after 9:12 minutes into the commentary. Reason being Rook breakthrough with Check on exposed king ignoring the knights fork on rook and queen. Once in check the king has to move and then queen can move.

    • @rokanza2293

      Fischer Random has absolutely 0 significance in standard,classical chess. If it ever overtakes the significance and popularity of regular chess,which is unlikely,then we can talk about it. By that logic Wesley So is far better chess player than Magnus because he demolished him completely in Fischer Random.
