I agree. It is like a weight lifted. I never thought he looked right during their relationship. I thought sometimes where has Johnny gone, in particular later in their relationship when they were photographed together. He looked a little better on his own but still not at his best. I met Johnny in Austin TX in September, '19...I was invited backstage by Rhonda Smith to meet Jeff Beck....When I walked out of Rhonda's dressing room and into the hallway, I looked up and Johnny shook my hand and said " I'm Johnny, nice to meet you"...we sat and talked for about 15 minutes...probably the nicest guy I ever met...Oh, and Jeff was sitting there as well...we were both just happy to be in the same room with Jeff Beck...I was there to meet Jeff, but Rhonda and Johnny were the nicest people you would ever want to know....So, Johnny, if you ever read this, just wanna say thanks, mate...you're the real deal...it was a surreal experience for me...
I've met him as well, it was sometime after he did the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and as Johnny Depp fans know he's from Owensboro, Kentucky. Anyhow, it was around 2002/03 and I was working at the Campbell House in Lexington, and all of a sudden he's there with his entire family "including his last wife whom was amazing. He was the most amazing person, he stopped his dinner to sign all of our autographs !! He still had his hair in a Jack Sparrow style, a flannel button down on, sunglasses 🕶😎(in the restaurant) , bracelets up his arms...etc He looked amazing. I grew up in Versailles, Ky, and everyone in my hometown knew his parents lived there as well. I just was very fortunate to meet such an amazing soul, hope again one day.

He's so frigging kind and humble... "Tell the world, Johnny!" He took all his courage and strength and did and with it won the rest (not yet fans) of us over. I did not pay attention to him before, as I favored other movies and their stars, not b/c I disliked him, rather unintentionally. He is so silent and unassuming and yet once he opens up and you see him blossom. I adore him as a man and as a human being. He is extraordinary, he just is.

I think I've read he deals with anxiety, not sure if it's generalized anxiety or social. You can be confident in some things and anxious around other things.
He has always been that way in interviews. He loves making movies but I guess he doesn't actually feel confident talking like that in front of an audience. I prefer his way over how some actors are completely full of themselves and look uninterested when others are talking though. For example at the Graham Northon show you can tell he prefers listening to the other guests.

I have never paid more attention to Johnny Depp since I have while listening to his trial. I have watched and enjoyed his movies and appreciated his work. I have marveled at his kindness to children as "Captain Jack Sparrow". Listening to his honesty and "owning" his substance issues -- and to these kind of interviews makes me like him more than ever.
Love his take on Edward Scissorhands. The idea of him being so innocent and new to life that he wouldn't even know what death was is so crucial to what makes that character so intriguing and endearing. Its so great that he was able to adapt the dialogue and really make that character what it is.
I've noticed since they formed the band, Depp just has more spirit to him, he's in good shape, he's more smiley. More 'himself'. If you watch the Graham Norton interview he did with Ricky Gervais you can see that's who he really is, he's more like that again.

I'm not a "fan" of anyone, because it seems ludacris to me (as an adult), to idolize another human, whom I've never even met. I mean, the guy has some heavy duty flaws, but to still be kind through the kind of addiction he's suffered with, it speaks to who he is underneath that. To think that he was also physically and emotionally abused no less, the dude is a damn Saint to still be so meek and sweet. Seems to me, that the only person he abuses is himself. So I just saw this interview for the first time. Knowing everything that's been going on with his life last few years, I really feel for him. I've met him as well, it was sometime after he did the first Pirates of the Caribbean. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and as Johnny Depp fans know he's from Owensboro, Kentucky. Anyhow, it was around 2002/03 and I was working at the Campbell House in Lexington, and all of a sudden he's there with his entire family "including his last wife whom was amazing. He was the most amazing person, he stopped his dinner to sign all of our autographs !! He still had his hair in a Jack Sparrow style, a flannel button down on, sunglasses 🕶😎(in the restaurant) , bracelets up his arms...etc
He looked amazing. I grew up in Versailles, Ky, and everyone in my hometown knew his parents lived there as well. I just was very fortunate to meet such an amazing soul, hope again one day.

He takes no credit to himself for all the films he has been in, only the characters he has created. He is embarrassed about seeing himself on the big screen. But get him talking about his friends and about the children in the hospital and he gets animated and comes alive. He also likes talking about the characters he has played, he is excited about how they respond and how the audience react to them. He is so silent and unassuming and yet once he opens up and you see him blossom. I adore him as a man and as a human being. He is extraordinary, he just is.
The same way my dream would be just to be able to be in his presence for one whole day and just listen to him talk to me and tell me everything he knows it’s just fascinating. I just will never understand how he can play these characters so good when he doesn’t even watch him to see how people react to him or I just don’t understand how he can do that. Bein a superstar doesn't fix your internal problems. He is a human behind all the money and fame.
I think I've read he deals with anxiety, not sure if it's generalized anxiety or social. You can be confident in some things and anxious around other things.
He has always been that way in interviews. He loves making movies but I guess he doesn't actually feel confident talking like that in front of an audience. I prefer his way over how some actors are completely full of themselves and look uninterested when others are talking though. For example at the Graham Northon show you can tell he prefers listening to the other guests.

This man does NOT have any indication of 'cognizant deficiency/delays' as was said in the trial that just went to jury deliberations today, 5.27.22. Just listen to how he CONNECTS dots and the storyline of how he felt his daughters cartoons (and all of ours growing up) relate to how he CHOSE to portray the character of Jack Sparrow. This man is NOT a "mentally washed up due to drugs/alcohol individual who does not have a grasp on reality" as he's accused of by his ex wife's legal team and herself - he has shown he has SUCH a grasp that he's very adept at CREATING version in this character, adept at creating Edward Scissorhands and the list goes on....and if he believes in something, he goes balls to the wall effort. His downfall with his ex wife, but brilliant in the roles he takes on. Passionate integrity is his approach to all of his projects...

I love Johnny Depp. I love his acting skills and how he builds his characters, I love his sense of humour but mostly I love his down-to-earth, humble nature, and compassion.
His smile is absolutely mesmerizing. You can hear the compassion and kindness in his voice and see it in his face, his eyes and his smile. I have ALWAYS loved Johnny Depp. Nothing will change that.
People have grown so used to narcissicism as "confidence," that we fail to recognize the genuine humility behind true confidence. Depp is charming and humble as he reveals himself to be such a compassionate spirit. He's not insecure. An insecure man doesn't fight the behemoth of Disney to make a character his own. What we're witnessing is his overall discomfort with the cult of celebrity being far more interested, as an artist, in creating art rather than being deified as a God of pop culture. He had his questions and kept the conversation going seamlessly. He was involved even without speaking with just his physical interactions listening to Johnny and being involved and encouraging him to keep speaking and doing so without needing to interrupt Johnny speaking. I can't understand, for the life of me, why or how anyone would want to or could even be capable of hurting someone as sweet, gentle, kind and humble as he is ! I have never paid more attention to Johnny Depp since I have while listening to his trial. I have watched and enjoyed his movies and appreciated his work. I have marveled at his kindness to children as "Captain Jack Sparrow". Listening to his honesty and "owning" his substance issues -- and to these kind of interviews makes me like him more than ever.
Love his take on Edward Scissorhands. The idea of him being so innocent and new to life that he wouldn't even know what death was is so crucial to what makes that character so intriguing and endearing. Its so great that he was able to adapt the dialogue and really make that character what it is.
I've noticed since they formed the band, Depp just has more spirit to him, he's in good shape, he's more smiley. More 'himself'. If you watch the Graham Norton interview he did with Ricky Gervais you can see that's who he really is, he's more like that again.

I'm not a "fan" of anyone, because it seems ludacris to me (as an adult), to idolize another human, whom I've never even met. However, he genuinely seems like a gentle soul - albeit tortured, of course. I mean, the guy has some heavy duty flaws, but to still be kind through the kind of addiction he's suffered with, it speaks to who he is underneath that. To think that he was also physically and emotionally abused no less, the dude is a damn Saint to still be so meek and sweet. Seems to me, that the only person he abuses is himself. Wish I could give him a hug and tell him, people see you man, and we don't see a monster. Oh, and that I think he's ridiculously talented, lol. Guess I sound like a fan after all, lol. Just mean, if I had heard genuine evidence that he was a monster, I wouldn't hesitate to stop supporting his work.

He has always open and honest about his flaws and never tried to hide his addiction issues. I truly hope he is vindicated in the lawsuit. He deserves all the love he is receiving and so much more.
@@laurenopferman7278 much agreed, I merely meant that while I enjoy his work, music and disposition and kind nature, I have never had the pleasure of meeting him to validate my perceptions - as such, I cannot call myself a fan. I think of idolizing when I think fan (for myself, not you or others), and I simply don't idolize other humans. I respect the hell out of some of them though, and from what I've seen, I do indeed have respect for him and truly hope he is vindicated.
I've been a fan since the 90's....He said in court "The ONLY person I have EVER abused is MYSELF....who could/would say that.???? If not highly true..?? When asked what this Op Ed did to him....he said he LOST...nothing but EVERYTHING....God Bless him..move on Sweet Soul.
i feel the same. He wasnt on my radar. Not for any particular reason. Listening to his testimony under direct exam, his truth, his humble natire and his honestly made me feel very deeply for him. I just wanted to hug him. That succubus had a good highly intelligent, deep, talented, kind and yes, flawed man and she threw him away. And when he said he wanted a divorce she sprang into action to destroy him and she isnt done with him.

I have lots of respect for Johnny Depp. As an actor and a human being, he is one of the best gentlemen I have ever seen. He is always nice with fans, he doesn't demean or bash on actors and directors (which is so rare in this competitive business) and he is always humble and ready to push boundaries with his roles. With Tim Burton, he has enjoyed a partnership as unique as Ingrid Bergman and Alfred Hitchcock, or Charlotte Gainsbourg and Lars von Trier, or Diane Keaton and Woody Allen. And as I know he shot films in Montreal, I can tell you that Montrealers who met him all adored the man. Finding him very kind and down-to-earth. Not at all smug/egocentric/narcissistic like other actors and actresses they met (no need to give names as we know who they are). Some of them who have bashed him in recent years due to a certain person who slanders Johnny Depp (no need to say her name). And seeing all fans enjoying this meet with Johnny is a proof of the fidelity fans have for him. Thank you for sharing to us this video and for inviting Johnny Depp. Thank you.

In this scenario with Amber heard, there is physical evidence that Heard was lying about her bruises and that she in fact was abusive towards depp,. There are many eyewitnesses that can apparently support this based on what I've read.
Heard has also had a past of violence so it is not unlikely that she would've been abusive
I think that the whole world has always loved Johnny Depp movies but didn’t really know who Johnny Depp the person was as he is devoid of an ego! This is a very rare trait in Hollywood!! Johnny Depp is a rare intellectual actor whose creative genius is surely beyond so called rational understanding, he is absolutely out of the box ,radical sexy irreverent , hilarious everything most people would love to be but don’t have the guts. His self conviction is truly inspiring and these parts of him make him an incredible role model as a person. His kindness borders on the noble. What a phenomenal human. Simply adore him .
It is so interesting that people that didn’t care for Johnny’s acting roles, now love/like him. He’s well spoken, a gentleman (based on his videos with Amber or any other woman), caring, loving to his sister and hateful mother until she died, a wonderful father, and a great example of young boys to follow.
So I just saw this interview for the first time. Knowing everything that's been going on with his life last few years, I really feel for him. There is no way in hell this man has any violent tendencies inside of him. When the audience applause, he really thanks them in a genuin way instead of taking things like that for granted like many other actors. Many of his friends keep telling us that JD is the most humble person and I think I just saw that person today in this interview. What's so sad about this is that the Media didn't... until now! Things are changing for JD. Hopefully he will get back on his feet after all this is over with AH and he will be able to invite us to watch amazing movies once again.

I noticed every time the audience applauds he gets so shy and either touches his face or kinda scratches his head it’s like a nervous thing, he’s so adorable.. I know how he feels though I’ve been so shy all my life. He’s like the most humblest person and you can just hear it in his voice and really feel his heart when he talks about visiting children’s hospitals, it truly means so much to him to make those kids happy.
