I purchased a Tripp Trapp in 1993 while living in Denmark. I bought it used from a family who been using it for about 10 years. I brought it back with me in a large suitcase! I’ve used it for my daughter, my son- his first two children and now my daughter’s baby! We’ve also used it for visiting children and adults when we needed an extra chair. It looks the same as the day I bought it except for a couple little dents in the wood and two of the screws that have a bit of rust on them! So this high chair has been in use for 40 years and is still going strong!!! The biggest bonus is that it teaches children to sit up at the table with the family. A dying art I know but if this is important to you don’t hesitate. Its quality speaks for itself.

Interesting choice. The giraffe is much more similar to the Steps than the TrippTrapp IMO. Ease of use/cleaning on the daily would have been good comparison points to include.

I was really intrigued by the Bugaboo Giraffe, but I got an amazing deal on a Tripp Trapp from you guys, so I went with that one!

Could you please compare the Bugaboo Giraffe with the Stokke Steps?

We just went to the store to check these out, and I was honestly a little disappointed with the Tripp Trapp. You hear how amazing it is, and while I think the chair itself is solid and well made, all the accessories look and feel really cheap especially for the price. I felt the Bugaboo has put in a lot more effort and time into designing all the inserts and accessories. They feel sturdier, easier to clip on and off, and better value for money. This is my personal opinion, and we are buying the Bugaboo. However, if i were buying this for a 4 - 5 year old kid, and don't need the Baby insert or new born insert or the tray or anything, just the chair, then I would probably go with the Tripp Trapp, but we need the baby insert and tray, jajaja.
My guess is that Tripp Trapp hasn't changed or improved on their original design in decades, while Bugaboo has built on and improved on the Tripp Trapp original concept.

I'm really curious about how well suction plates stay on the Giraffe's tray, as we know that they don't really stay on the Stokke's.

Can you compare it to the nomi as well? I have both the nomi and trip trap, I really want to try out this new one to replace my nomi because it just doesn’t look cohesive with my house, but my toddler prefer the nomi in comparison to the trip trap, I really find something else that he likes better than the nomi.

I am debating between tripp trapp and cybex lemo. Looking for someone who had the option to try them both 😊

Tripp Trapp is great, but the size of the leg holes can make it challenging to lift your child out of the chair if they have bigger legs/thighs.
