I'm not a single issue voter. Inflation is a global problem and as difficult as things seem to be here, there are other countries where it is much worse. Let's face facts! Regarding things close to home, Florida RE has a multitude of issues aside from high interest rates. Why don't we have a conversation about the OVER valuation of the market?
High interest rates, high home purchase prices and cost of ownership don't compute for the average Floridian. 45 year resident here and am gravely concerned for the future of the state. Florida has been under R leadership since the late 90's and I'm not so sure where we are today is something to be proud of.
I've been here for 32 years. What I've seen is a larger gap between the have and have nots. Middle class is disappearing. I'm not sure it's good in terms of what I see.... but I agree 100% that this place is overvalued. By a LOT. However it's supply and demand that keeps the balance and checks, so for some people it's not overvalued... because they keep buying.
Unfortunately lower interest rates will also increase inflation again. It’s the entire reason rates are high right now. They are looking for signs of weakness in the economy before they lower interest rates like increased unemployment.
True. I think the unemployment numbers are rigged. Gig economy jobs shouldn't count.

You might be 100% right. The entire USA real estate market is WAY overpriced. The thing is, I think 30 years ago that generation was saying the same thing... because the gap between wage growth and real estate value growth kept getting worse... but here we are.
This was one tough but informative drop. The way you stated Trump is probusiness and then…”he is business”. America is in some rough waters and either way, it appears she has to make it through to January 2025. Ali I can say is wow for the average folks in FL. Didn't Florida recently enacted a law that limits some foreign buyers - China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria and Venezuela - from owning property in the state? With that being said, nothing but homes are left to purchase….They own the farm land and big estates. Nothing left but obtain folks property to charge rent. Just wow!

Either way, the next president, whoever it will be, will hopefully have a plan to stop the bleeding without going to war.
