Clay (I use cheap children's clay)
Eggshells
Gesso and Black acrylic Paint
COLORS
Ink spray Bubblegum Pink from Ranger
LiquidPower red from Powertex
PowerEffect Powder Violet and Kings Blue from Powertex

Very cool and innovative! Is this clay oil based ? And does acrylic paint adhere well to it or do you paint medium over it all so paints will adhere? Txz so much, Jeanne

Thank you for your question. The clay is just a self hardened clay. So acrylic paints are no problem to work with.

Beautiful but can we do that on big canvas as well, will it look good….also from strainer clay which comes, isn’t ot too fragile?

Good question, thank you. Yes, I think you can, but the most importing in this technique is that your clay from the strainer must have made good contact with the first layer of clay. So you need to lay the structures in a generous layer of glue. And only color when everything is completely dry. Succes!

Does that clay stick to the canvas after it dries? I just picture it poping off. Its a great idea if it stays. I use modge podge a lot to glue things to the canvas but never tried clay.

Yes when the clay make good contact with the canvas it sticks very well, I spray water on the canvas and then put my clay on. Succes!

Prachtig! Gebruik je helemaal geen lijm om de klei vast te zetten, alleen water?

Dankjewel voor je reactie. Voor de eerste laag klei gebruik ik alleen water om de klei vast te zetten, om de klei structuur te lijmen op de eerst laag klei gebruik ik Powertex als lijm laag.
