- Balaram ji is first expansion and Adi guru. He is inspiration for service.
- Balaram ji served Krishna in all the rasas.
*Dasya Rasa:*
- Everything around us speaks to us. We should have ears to hear it.
- Serving starts with hearing. Start to learn to hear. Through silence people talk more.
*Sakhya Rasa:*
- He was always in association with Gopa. Sakhya bhav is vast rasa in which Balaram ji is expanding himself in many different ways.
- Preaching is done in Sakhya bhav. Spiritual master always stays in Sakhya rasa.
- SB 7.5.23-24: BSST commentary. Understanding inner most feeling of Krishna.
- Balaramji as a Anata Shesha had many mouths to glorify Krishna.
- Guru brings everybody to Krishna’s lotus feet.
*Vatsalya Rasa*:
- Balaramji always took care of Krishna. He had loving care for Krishna.
- Balaramji cannot tolerate dishonest and duplicity.
- Balramji gives shelter to even those who are rejected by Krishna. Eg: Duryodhana.
- Balaramji killed Romaharshana Suta. He is only one who died while giving Bhagavatam class.As he had not realized Bhagavatam.
- Bhagavatam class should be given with love in heart for Krishna without duplicity and arrogance to get mercy of Balaram.
- We will get questions and answers from Prabhupada Books.
- Romaharshana suta was father of Sut Goswami blessed by sages to speak Bhagavatam. All sages offered obeisances to Balaram ji . Romaharshana Suta doesn’t get up. He thought Balaram ji is Skatriya and he is Brahamana.
- SB 4.21.44: Glimpse of qualities we should develop as a result of devotional services.
- Real wealth is only good qualities like simple, humble, compassion, merciful and helping nature etc. We should be grateful to everybody.
- Without gratitude we cannot relish holy name.
- SB 1.15.29: Birth after birth the conditioned soul is entrapped with so many pleasing and displeasing elements, which are all false and temporary. They accumulate due to our reactions to material desires, but when we get in touch with the transcendental Lord in His variegated energies by devotional service, the naked forms of all material desires become manifest, and the intelligence of the living being is pacified in its true color.
- Without mercy our anarthaas cannot go away to taste devotional service.
- Unless one accept Krishna as Supreme Personality of Godhead one cannot understand Bhagavatam.
- Never do Bhagavatam class for name, fame and followers.
- Greatest maya is identifying oneself as devotee.
- Balaram ji played two roles one is Supreme Personality of Godhead and other is Shaktriya.
- Through devotional service we can get in touch with Krishna.
- Everything around us is expansion of Krishna’s energy.
- By devotional service we can understand we are not devotee.
- Humility is first and foremost quality.
- SB 3.3.13: Read Bhagavatam by connecting everything around us. By this Sholka Prabhupad got inspiration to start KC movement to give satsangs.
*Practical Applications:*
- Pay obeisances to deity when curtains are opened.
- Give priorities to Hearing and Kirtan.
- Never get puffed up with Vedic knowledge.
- We should be eager to cultivate the qualities to please Krishna and Balaram.
