It would be more interesting if you find out the story of some of these ancestors that was burried in the 1800's. They're there to tell us the history of our country and not to scare us.

walang nakakatakot sa lugar na underground cemetery. oo merong spirit pero di sila masama o dapat katakutan. binibisita namin sila as a respect. not to ghost hunt. background music kasi parang horror demonic yung lugar na yan. meron kaming nararamdaman dyan pero di sila masamang espirito

Oo nga, nkita ko yun kasi dun ako nag-aral. Tradisyon yata sa pag-gawa ng simbahan ng katoliko ang cemetery sa ilalim nito para sa mga paring nagsilbi dito.
Akala ko ba pinapakilala ang historical site na yan? Parang pananakot naman ang ginawa nila :(

Sorry po but it's not the only underground cemetery in the Philippines. Meron din po sa Manila Cathedral sa Intramuros, San Agustin Church. Pero ang pinakamalalim at pinakamalaki ang nasa ilalim ng simbahan ng Agoo La Union.

Sa simbahan namin mayron din mga naka libing naka nakalagay sa mga haligi ng simabahan. Mukang panahon pa ng mga Kastila iyun dahil 400 plus years na yung simbahan.

The data concerning the age at which these people died is in Spanish. Also, the day when they passed away. A pity, Spanish is hardly spoken any more in the Philippines.
Underground Cemetery= Cementerio Subterráneo.
They pay more for cemetery sites then housing for those in poverty. CZcams living among the dead its a culture shock for sure.

+tataytuyay -- Not exactly. The catacombs were NOT CEMETERIES -- they were sites to hide DEAD Christians. At that time, it was a CRIME to be a Christian -- when Christians were discovered (like attending to their dead) they were arrested. The Nagcarlan Cemetery is a PUBLIC (not secret) site, where people buried their dead with everybody's knowledge..

@@aspopulvera9130 You are correct. But let me mention the ORIGINAL and LATER meanings of "catacomb." EARLY means the time of St. Peter and St Paul where dead Christians were buried SECRETLY UNDERGROUND. The LATER meaning -- refers to any UNDERGROUND site, where secrecy is NOT needed. The Catacombs of Paris were constructed (1786-1810), simply because the cemeteries above ground were filled-up. Today, other places like Nagcarlan, London, Australia and Peru also have "catacombs."

It could not happen na naging taguan Yan noong panahong Espanyol dahil Yan ay normal na sementeryo noong panahong Espanyol at Espanyol-Filipino mismo nagtayo niyan. At mahigitvisang daang taon silang naglilibing diyan.

It was not a safe house during Spanish era. It was the time when this cemetery was founded by the Spaniards. The Spaniards became citizens of this country for 333 years. It was became a safe house during the only 3 years of the Japanese bombing.
