Hey Valentina, you just need to record or extract the audio of this piano sonata and upload in Spotify. There's no other interpretation of this with those powerfull basses!!! Please, do it for us!!! And always, congratulations for your interpretations of Rachmaninoff!!!!
IT WAS THIS VERY RECORDING OF VALENTINA WHICH SENT ME ON MY SEARCH FOR THE BEST IN PIANO MUSIC WHICH HAS CHANGED MY PERCEPTION OF MUSIC AND LIFE. A BIG THANKYOU TO VALENTNA FOR CHANGING MY LIFE.
This here is music that lacks nothing. The art is further perfected, not only by the notes that grace a page, but by those who can interpret and perform them with all the emotion and luster they deserve. Lisitsa is my inspiration and has my props always; as a pianist and lover of the human experience. Art. -Andrew Mowatt
From a beauty unspeakable, unpronounceable ... I deeply admire this pianist. The best I do is listen and I delight in the magic of the moment. How much sensitivity ... Thank you! De uma beleza intraduzível, impronunciável... Admiro profundamente essa pianista. O melhor que faço é ouvir e me deleitar com a magia desse momento. Quanta sensibilidade... Muito obrigada!
Thank you for your art, Valentina. Not a day goes by that I do not listen to your music. I genuinely have no idea of how I could do what I do (study all day, basically) without this beautiful music. You provide me with the feelings that my daily routine will not allow, and give breath to those I suffocate. I sincerely thank you! I hope one day I will sit in a theatre and listen to you live.
I've loved this sonata for years and this is probably my favorite recording. It looks like you are just caressing the piano and it just lets all this wonderful music come out as a reward. I can't wait to see you playing this piece here in Bogotá, Colombia in a couple of months!
I am glad you give so much love to the music of Rachmaninoff. Such passionate music for such a stoic man, it's breathtaking to listen to when done right. How can you not love the insane left hand passages and huge pounded chords? Just as an aside, thank you for spelling his name as he did...the v is a pet peeve of mine. XD
Watching something like this is crazy knowing you will never be as good at something. Some think I'm talented at guitar in my videos but holy crap every time u put a video up its literally the most amazing piano playing known to man
A really fine interpretation, best i've heard yet from VL, fluide, with lots of pedal, yet very harmonious, making sense of this elusive piece. A YT friend, paulprocopolis, said that he didn't realise that Rach wrote the original idea of the Beatle's song: "Yesterday!"
I second that. We've been through enough this past year to deserve this massive treat. Plus, we rarely get to see any topnotch pianists here. I'm saving every penny this year to go see Argerich in Verbier before one of us dies. But, you in Egypt + Prokofiev (or Rachmaninoff)... lethally exciting!
Fico me perguntando quando teremos uma pianista de altíssimo nível, como esse, em Brasília (Brasil)... Execução maravilhosa... (I wonder when we will have a pianist of the highest level, like this, in Brasilia (Brazil) ... Execution wonderful ...)
What a joy you are Valentina! Wow, this Sonata is everything you say it is and more.... the Rach... is there anyone like him? Would you please upload Liszt's Un Sospiro Db Concert etude soon!....Hamelin does this very beautifully as I know you will also.... thank you again!
HI Valentina.. I'm glad you are coming to the UK (Albert Hall) on June 19th.. it looks almost sold out already! You asked what we would like to hear you play during your recital - can I ask for as much Chopin as possible!! LOL... thank you!
Valentina, heaven is definitely missing an angel. You are the Angel of the Piano. I live in Boston, MA. Any chance of any performances out this way. Also do you do any charity benefits.
Does'nt matter the noise of pedal . We all hear youtube on a PC Which is not designed for HI-Fi . About the first sonata i insist to declare that the first version where Val is " All Gold" remains the best , despite a piano not very good . Thank you so much, Val . you are The best . When do you expect to come in France ???? Michel Tretout
Stunning performance. I was looking for some music to cure this morning's insomnia, and this isn't helping, but oh well! Valentina, have you played any of the late Beethoven Sonatas and on what label can I buy your CD's?
Are you really coming to Sicily in July??? I saw you'll be in Taormina and Palermo, but couldn't get any other info (like how to book tickets/venues) I'm moving there next week! So excited to get the chance to see you live! Didn't think it likely you'd ever make it to Ireland :)
I don't suppose you have any plans to come to South Florida in the US any time soon? We have an enormous classical following in Palm Beach, an amazing venue "The Kravitz Center for the Performing Arts" you would be very well received here!
Hi Valentina, I can't find where you may have recorded this piece anywhere. All your Rachmaninoff CD's seem to be missing this piece. Please tell me where I can get a copy. Your playing as usual is beautiful.
I already have my ticket for Dortmund (Got it in December!), will it be possible to get an autograph and a photo with you after the concert!??? I am a biiiig fan of your work!!!!
I'd agree with @Chopin1974l as well. The moods expressed in the phrases fly by too quickly before audiences can grasp it. Otherwise, everthing else feels great!
Any chance of performing Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3, including all 5 ossia options? It may be the first time that a pianist has included all 5 of them in a single performance. While many pianists have performed the 2 ossias in movement 1, Rachmaninoff’s original thoughts from movements 2 & 3 are rarely performed. No musician should ever give even a passing thought to a ‘pick and mix’ version of the two texts. [The same surely goes for Rachmaninoff’s Op. 36].
Actually... it is not pedal, it's an edit point. The resonance of the instrument changes from one side of the edit to another in a way that is not natural and cannot be accomplished with pedal. I don't think that it takes away from the beauty of the performance, but I do think that the engineer could have done a much better job on that one... it was not a hard edit to make.
How anyone could dislike this Sonata is one of life's greatest mysteries...
It is rare that I hear something for the first time and love it. This is one of those rare moments.
Hey Valentina, you just need to record or extract the audio of this piano sonata and upload in Spotify. There's no other interpretation of this with those powerfull basses!!! Please, do it for us!!! And always, congratulations for your interpretations of Rachmaninoff!!!!
YES! You said it Daniel!!!!
I love those hands, flying doves, tender and gracious. Valentina you are great.
Валентина замечательная, спасибо за ваши труды 🙏🏻
IT WAS THIS VERY RECORDING OF VALENTINA WHICH SENT ME ON MY SEARCH FOR THE BEST IN PIANO MUSIC WHICH HAS CHANGED MY PERCEPTION OF MUSIC AND LIFE.

Thank you Valentina and Sergej.
You play with soul and heart. I love you

Impressive! It makes me cry for a few seconds.

Rachmaninov estaría maravillado con tu interpretación! Me encanta ese aire mágico que le das a Rachmaninov. Felicitaciones! Un abrazo.
You are such an inspiration to me Dear Valentina ! :-)
Im Polish and it's nice to know that talent like you has Polish roots :)

Wow! I did not know that! You just became even more amazing. Next time your in Dallas or Fort Worth I'm going to be in the front row at the hall.
I second that. We've been through enough this past year to deserve this massive treat. Plus, we rarely get to see any topnotch pianists here. I'm saving every penny this year to go see Argerich in Verbier before one of us dies.

I live in Connecticut, but would travel to any nearby state to hear you perform.
Thanks. =)

Wonderful. She went horse riding after playing this.
I'd be the happiest person in the world if you ever come to Poland :)

As my favorite female pianist, my dreams would come true if you played in the Chicago Symphony house.
Its when noise is made when pushing one of those foot pedals.
I wish I could hear you perform live. Are you going to be performing in the east coast this year by any chance?
I already have my ticket for Dortmund (Got it in December!), will it be possible to get an autograph and a photo with you after the concert!??? I am a biiiig fan of your work!!!!
Ah, Hannes Minnaar should hear this recording, he played this fairly unknown piece in Groningen (The Netherlands) last year (:
greetings from Turkey :) i wonder that are you going to visit istanbul to have consert?
Does anyone know if this piece is on spotify (and link is possible)? Thanks

I'd agree with @Chopin1974l as well. The moods expressed in the phrases fly by too quickly before audiences can grasp it. Otherwise, everthing else feels great!
Any chance of visiting Slovakia? Neighbour country, at least it was, and nothning seems to be happening in the future :-(

yes i'am ! nobody's perfect...lol !!!
are you really going to go to sicily!?!? please tell me where i can get more info!!!
After coming to Egypt, you can visit in Israel. It's just a couple of hours from there.
Sorry to say but 6:13 is NOT a pedal noise, it is just a bad editing, it is extremely clear
If you need to be invited to go to a place...I'm formally inviting you to my house for dinner? :D Dallas, TX? if you have time of course :)
You canceled your concert in Chicago?
What's a pedal noise?
Do You compose your own music ?
mrs lisitsa, how do you manage to be a concert pianist, wife and mother all at the same time?
Actually, I believe Valentina is Ukrainian =)
Actually... it is not pedal, it's an edit point. The resonance of the instrument changes from one side of the edit to another in a way that is not natural and cannot be accomplished with pedal. I don't think that it takes away from the beauty of the performance, but I do think that the engineer could have done a much better job on that one... it was not a hard edit to make.
after listening to this, the songs on tv and radio sound meaningless
really?! you have this in front of you and all you can do is complain about some "pedal noise", again gtfo. you people will never be satisfied
Мутатень!..
Nothing but the beauty in this video. Boring.....
