This is an excellent model and even better instructional. I’ve bookmarked it and plan to refer to it when I come to make my own version of this kit.
My father landed on Juno beach on D-Day in one of these. He was a radio operator/gun layer with 2nd RMAS. His tank was one of only 3 in 2RMAS to make it off the beach on D-Day and had penetrated 4 miles inland by the end of the day before being recalled.
In 2014, on the 70th anniversary, he was invited to cut the ribbon on the newly-restored Centaur “Vidette” at the Pegasus Bridge Museum.
Keep up the good work! I’ll be following 👍

Thank you, I’m glad you liked the video. I’m sure I mentioned it but when it comes to the turret decals, there’s a couple of parts to leave off (like ‘O’ rings), until the decals are on, otherwise it would be a night mare.
Ahh that’s brilliant, love hearing stories from the older generation of Bootnecks!

Hi To , I have just found your channel, and the Centaur build was absolutely outstanding, your weather was done to perfection, I would think even after only been usec for nine days, they would still be pretty worn or dusty, you have yourself another subscrber, bedt regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👍👍☺👍👍

Ahhh cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it. I tried to find a fine balance, I know what vehicles are like after 9 hours in the field never mind 9 days and some remained static apparently, but I still had fun with the weathering anyway.

I'm impressed by the control/patience you take with the build and espec. the painting/weathering. My first model after 40yrs was definitely gloopy in to thick a paint job, but have changed the airbrush and discovered thinner, yet to discover patience! 🤣

Thank you! I do enjoy taking my time, I think taking the process slow pays off in the end. Airbrushes definitely help, I felt my modelling ability went up ten fold after I purchased an airbrush. Thanks for watching.

Great build and paint! Did you use varnish as the final stage or did you just let it be?

Thank you. I didn’t use any varnish at the end, I just left it be as I was happy with the look. If you wanted to seal it all in then you could use some matt/flat varnish.

Hi Tom, the final tones of paint and weathering are very good. I like it. The decal work paid off - they look great. Very nice build all around dude!! I want to see the diorama next. Cool
