God bless you all you
It's a shame. These addresses, etc., are prepared well in advance of His Majesty, the King or His Regent attending Parliament so there is no reason why subtitles cannot be provided.
No actually it is the government who prepares these addresses. It's a summary of the government's plan for the whole semester that the parliament sits. It's only presented by the crown because it is the representation of the government and the nation. You shouldn't need subtitles unless you're very stoked on Norwegian politics, it's just a bunch of promises for different social and governmental sectors like tax and law and finance and international matters and in this specific speech a lot of focus on the health sector.
Hi Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway! 💋
I'm Higgins brother I was with John Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis he gave us that car for a gift
I entirely respect this guy's tenor, respect for the House, and I am sure he is often compared to his grandfather Olav. I have all respect for the monarchy and as for the "rip" of the UK anthem, one must remember how important it is for Norway to see themselves as independent from Sweden, no?
"independent from Sweden.." er du helt forbanna idiot? Lever du for 100 år siden?
Rip off anthem. You're aware the UK stole it from France and has been used by multiple nations?
It's not only Norway (who has 2 anthems I believe), but Liechtenstein, the United States ("My country tis of thee"), and formerly Switzerland who have national anthems or patriotic songs that have notes similar to "God save the King". There may be other countries. I'm just aware of the ones mentioned. I too have respect for CURRENT European monarchies - though not always approbation (I'm not referring to Norway by that). We're of the Nobility and Peerage from the former Kingdom's of Sardinia (1324-1861) and it's successor state, Italy (1861-1946). Our allegiance ceased in 1923 with ascension of fascism (which is trying to reestablish itself via an alt right party). Some are calling for the return of the monarchy to Italy... I think there's a better chance at finding cheese at the center of the moon. I think that's for the best. In 1946 ALL possible male heirs to the crown were exiled, having been allowed to return only thirty years ago. With the Primogeniture (first born) and Secondo geniture (second born) lineage fighting, in the not so distant past, over who the legit heir is. And since Italy is a Republic, Titles of Royalty and Nobility are strictly a matter of personal courtesy and/or history as the judiciary does not acknowledge them.
Do they use nynorsk or bokmal for formal addresses like this?
Bokmål.
We don't speak bokmål or nynorsk, those are written standards. We speak dialects. The Oslo dialect is closer to bokmål though, but there is another form, a more conservative written norm. The upper class in Oslo have their own dialect, and it's closer to conservative bokmål or riksmål in some cases (older people).
6:12 God Save the King!
I love Haakon’s voice
Is that correct prince haakon? I am "Norwegian royalty" due to birth right?
It is a bit of a “dull”occasion compared with the british or dutch opening of parlament.
رجل ذوى ملامح جميلة
he looks like a guy that can ride a horse 😂 I just saw him while looking at Swedes monarch, yah no comparison who is actually from militarily family XD
Hell Haakon, Thor and Loki..... Lylas born... ;)

Is the King OK?
Yes, he is OK. Back on duty again now. But he is 85 years old.

Crown Prince Haakon is the great great great grandson of Queen Victoria and a cousin of Queen Elizabeth.

Be exact !! She was the granddaughter of Queen Victoria
Haakon and Elizabeth II are third cousins once removed. He is fourth cousin to Charles III.
When I saw him ride up in the convertible, my thoughts immediately went to JFK. Granted, there's probably NOT a hostile political element in Norway, but it's not good personal security.
It's Norway, not USA....
There is a story about seeing a Norwegian Royal on a regular passenger plane. Someone commented about not seeing any security. To which it was replied "He has 5 million of them".
Anhawwllep
why have you nicked the music of our National Anthem
It's the royal anthem. God save the King. It's played only in ceremonies where the King (or the Crown) are present. This is probably inherrited from the UK. The families are closely related.
We have a separate national anthem, wich is usually played in addition to the royal anthem. In all other situations, where the Crown is not represented, then only the national anthem is played.
@@ruralor l would have thought they would have something written by a Norwegian composer
it would make more sense
@@lsmith9249 Norway is a pretty 'new' monarchy, it was established in 1905, before then we were ruled by the Swedish king. The royal family we got then in 1905, after our independence, was very closely linked to Britain. Our Queen was the daughter of your king in the UK.
Also, after googling I found out that the same tune were actually used as national anthem of Germany too, under the monarchy. And it says the original composer is unknown.

Reincarnated as following hi iam reincarnated 👑 James of Scott's Odd the very beginning of this broadcast you do see an Charles looking very young but yet he has white hair I think someone needs to think by the way I wrote the Bible
You wrote the Bible? Cool! I'm still waiting for the follow up though. You're taking longer than even George R. R. Martin.
I need too eat too silly.
So, the crown Prince doesn't have Viking ancestors... Hmmmm... Same old stories...
They are just impostors. His mother was just a regular girl that grew up a few blocks from the castle. And the current crown princess has no royal heritage, just a drunkard of a dad.
Why is the Crown Prince speaking that weird language? English subtitles please!
You are an example of someone who is intolerant to other languages and cultures
@@bamse26 some people dont understand how important it is for Norwegians to rule Norway!
"that weird language" is literally the language of their own country LMFAO...
Weird language??!!! Imagine expecting someone to speak their own language when addressing their own Parliament!!
@@sharonharris9782 he is speaking gibberish. I doubt if anyone in the parliament could even understand what he was saying.

There are pros and cons for everything. I'm not a warm defender of monarchy in princippal. However. There will always be alot of courtecy and ceremony around a head of state. Whether it is a monarchy or republic. The more important divide, atleast for all practical purposes, is between a parliamentary or a presidential system. In a parliamentary system you pay tribute to a non-political symbolic institution, with no real power over anything. In a presidential system you are honoring and submitting to someone with huge political power.
