Yoohyeon could be a main vocal in any other group, easily. It is a testament to the talent assembled in Dreamcatcher that she is "only" a lead vocalist.
She is functionally a co-main vocal with Siyeon these days (Siyeon goes high, Yoohyeon does the vocal definition support), nobody is out to make a fuss over titles, but in my head... co-main.
@@TheGroovyJones totally agree, though I actually kinda see Yoohyeon as the main really, even though I love Siyeon. It’s Yoohyeon’s parts that really drive the song home for me and cover more range.
Personally, I don't pay attention to "main" and "lead" 🤷♂️ It's just members who sing most of the time, members who rap most of the time, and leader

When I was just getting to know Dreamcatcher and wasn't sure if I wanted to follow the group during You & I era, this Yoohyeon cover sealed the deal for me and I'm forever an insomnia.
2017, the year Dreamcatcher debuted. Yoohyeon tells a whole story... she not only sings beautifully but she gets you to FEEL the story she's telling through the song. Her performance, expresiones, stare, voice... she is beyond amazing.
Also props because of the meaning behind the song and her continuos support towards the community.

This was five years ago, Yoohyeon is a lot better at singing now. Her other Little Mix cover is called Touch; more upbeat song and Yoohyeon was going through her Hot Girl era after BEcause so that is a warning. Her covers with SuA and Siyeon also can't skip. Solo song For, that's the golden ticket.

If someone asked me to recommend a song for each member to best showcase their vocal ability I think I would always immediately think of this one first for Yoohyeon. It really showcases her different skills and always leaves you fighting off that little bit of a tear forming in the corner of your eye 😊
I had so many people recommend this cover and I wasn't sure why until I heard it and was like, "yeah, good choice, I agree" 😂

She's my bias for a reason and this cover highlights it beautifully.
Generally in Korea same sex relationships are not accepted yet. Coming out can even destroy a career. I can't help thinking about this every time I hear this song. Yoohyeon has chosen this title for a cover version deliberately and I love her interpretation more than the original. Her voice is not only incredibly expressive but at the same time wonderfully emotional. I wish her all the best for her birthday and that she will find all the love she deserves !

Happy 2023! When I was first getting into Dreamcatcher I heard this and Siyeon's Speechless covers and I was like holy shit the talent of this group is insane🤯

As Sooyeon said about Yoohyeon, she's very powerful and she has that 'why did you do that?' in her voice. She was badly hurt in the past and she carries it with her always. It's there in almost every one of her songs. It's like she's a child asking whatever force that moves the world, 'why did you do that to me?'
Too bad that is so accurate...no child deserves that treatment coming from the powers-that-be.

I am pretty sure all of InSomnia wants to give her a hug when she pouts like that. People want to be there for her, especially after finding our what happened during her childhood. She hides so much pain. Because of the nature of that pain, we know it will always be there, it will never just go away and cannot simply be forgotten. Certain songs (especially ballads) allow her to show that pain and it gives her vocals a little extra emotion. This song is just one of those.
I am sure that when she sings 'Lullaby', she might feel that song a little more deeply than the other members. I wonder if she has ever actually cried while singing that one. It would not surprise me.
She's amazing and she's so strong! I really hope she realizes how strong she is for continuing to do what she does.

I rarely hear this beautiful cover - it's too emotional on certain days. Yooheyon sings this song with her voice alone, unlike the original - unlike the Little Mix original. This isn't meant to detract from the original - but Yooheyeon's vocal performance is incredible.
You'll be surprise when you listen to the original song. I wish the original have the same arrangements as Yoohyeon's cover and without rap of course. The rap was bad. Also, you should do a cover of this song😁 if it does make you wanna sing😄

@@AntiSocialPlanet yeah I can say you were simping hard enough when you checked Dami because it throwback you to early 2000. not so vintage but I can say you enjoyed way more towards Dami solo compared to JiU Gahyeon. even more than Siyeon which is vintage but clearly vintage Korean version.
since you spoiled that you've checked "For", I feel like only 2 videos from Handong felt so long. well, even though Handong solo also a bit vintage, even my fav solo in the album if I see overall aspect, especially her special touch in outro (spoiler again for you, if you haven't seen it 😅)

@@MrKrory Indeed...currently I'm attracted by our sunshine JiU but it started with Yooyheon, moved to Gahyeon (sunshine no.2), Handong,... 🙃. To make it short...I love them all and I never though I could get attached to a group like this (Note: I'm old...they could be my children) and when they finally got their 1st win last year I also got emotional because I could relate to the hard work they did each year and each year passed with no reaching this goal.
I've also watched the original and Yoohyeon did an amazing job replacing all the (4+1) Little Mixes voices and we shouldn't forget that since 2017 she got even better handling her voice.
This cover is in the top cover songs for me which also includes, Siyeon's cover of Speechless, (G)I-DLE's Yuqi brilliant cover of "Rise up" (by Andra Day - great message!) ...always give me chills plus Rolling Quartz cover of "Zitti E Buoni" (by Måneskin; amazing how good Jayoung did it in the italian language which she doesn't speak...for that alone 👏)...but there is so much great stuff out there.
