    Hi Jill, great interview. I think prince did literally what he wanted everyday and who as well. Maybe he kept you around for almost a decade because he needed your honest intelligence, but the double sword is you were harder to control. I wonder how Kim upsker fit in when you were around. I think he also had her around 10 years. She moved into prince's first apartment when Warner was paying the rent, don't know how long that was. But he had a place to go to, and someone there when he was away. Maybe the same thing in New York where you were living, a place to go too, when he wanted to get away. He seemed really cunning. I hope we can see- the parts that were cut out- of the film someday. I was thinking maybe Denise left the project called Dreams, when she read the script, when prince rapped her, she wanted to act and that part wasn't a good start, and of course the money was a problem too.

      She was hard for control but she tried to stay around 10 years? I think she was infatuated and was hoping to get his attention like vanity and others but he didn’t feel that so for her, think she liked the gifts

    It's ironic to me that most of the Non African American people who played with Prince seem to have an Air like they were doing Prince a favor, instead of the other way around, which was how it actually was...

      My point still is valid, and she makes it it more prevalent. Whatever her ethnicity, she, like the other I mentioned, comes off like She did Prince a favor. But without being with him, likely no one would know who she was, as was the case with many with Prince who went on to try their wings, only to find that being with him ( which in itself was fantastic) was the largest thing they ever achieved, and nothing they do will eclipse that, and I'd be hard pressed to name one of them besides Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam that did anything Major beyond being with him.

    Prince loved her presence and support, yet her beauty was more subtle vice in your face like a Vanity and her singing was strong yet not a Rosie, so she was just stuck. I get it. She didn't have to stay as long as she did and probably should not have, yet they were both comfortable with the state of limbo that she was in. Just my bias opinion, outside looking in and as a day-one music follower of Prince.

      I think if he loved her presence he would’ve had her on stage. I think she wanted to stay around and he let anyone stay around as a playboy. A lot women he wanted to stay but they left

    Actually a pretty depressing interview. She seemed miserable with herself for letting Prince misuse her. I hope she finds peace.

  • @zakiasimpson8928
    @zakiasimpson8928 Před 2 měsíci +2

    Why was she sleeping with him when she knew his girlfriends were Vanity or Susan Moonsie at the beginning , She was not taken in public like the others. And most don’t know about her and Prince. I bet Vanity didn’t know he was sleeping with her and I am sure he ignored Jill when with Vanity. And how was Vanity paying her when she was singing for Prince band and Vanity was in Prince girl group? And Vanity left so who was supposedly paying her then lol. And Vanity and Prince were together on his bus together. I think she was the side girl sleeping with him on the low and is embarrassed now by it. No one ever saw Jill has a major girl but seem like she wanted to be so bad. I hope she finds peace with herself and choices. She was the type of woman that contributed to his being unfaithful to the main girlfriends in the beginning. After Vanity it seems all the women knowingly shared him.
    Also she actually was Prince lady cab driver at first. In other interviews she admits to driving him on a date with another women. Think she is just embarrassed and trying make Prince all bad. I think she was infatuated.
    She was at school in NY, Prince wasn’t living two lives with her and Susannah. There were more women of course like Maneca Lightner, Shelia E, Cat, etc. She essentially was just one of his longterm lovers he told. In another interview she said she was in school and had her boyfriend living with her in the Penthouse. After 1999 he never really had her in public or on tour anymore.
    I believe half of anything Jill says and knows she wanted to more important in Prince world and wasn’t. And seems scorned
    I feel Jill didn’t get along well with others is more to why Prince left her as a background singer, she eludes to her not getting along with others.
    Also does it matter who song background on tracks, they were paid. I don’t know song background for a lot of artists but I do get that people want credit. He still wrote, composed and arranged. Prince told Wendy and Lisa how to harmonize and do background vocal, they are not good vocalist outside of that

    • @yolojumo6727
      @yolojumo6727 Před 2 měsíci +1

      In the beginning after Prince death she seemed more honest but Lately it seems like she's been on a mission to diminish Vanity. Just my feelings with some of the things she's been saying lately and backtracking on about Vanity. Someone told me a long time ago to stop listening to Prince’s exes like Jill Jones speak about Vanity and Prince. They're gonna make sure she stays below them….

    • @zakiasimpson8928
      @zakiasimpson8928 Před 2 měsíci

      @@yolojumo6727 yeah she has become more savvy in her interviews for sure and keeping certain details out she exposed before that were not very flattering. Her and Susannah definitely try to downplay Vanity. She is trying to make him seem so bad like she wasn’t knowingly sharing him or jealous of his major girlfriends he took in public. Or that she started a sexual relationship knowing he already had a girlfriend. It’s pretty documented the intensity of Prince relationship with Vanity and with Susan Moonie. I think she wish she had a similar story with Prince and wants to make it such now or try to make him so terrible to explain away her dynamic being a lover on the side and not a as major as some of the others.

  • @yolojumo6727
    @yolojumo6727 Před 2 měsíci +1
