Twigs is the real deal, she can do no wrong. she writes all of her own material, produces her music and also creates all her visuals for her videos, i mean can she get any more perfect

I just wanna say that she deserves to be there. She's a talented composer, dancer, producer, singer, visual artist. She's worked very hard as she says in most of her interviews and many of her songs. I'm very very happy for her.
I agree with everything, apart from she doesn't produce a lot of her stuff. Arca, Emile Haynie and Paul Epworth do. But still, she deserves success as she's unique at the moment and as you said, very talented.
She often has co production credits and every lyric and melody is hers. She comes up with all the concepts in her video so I don't think the criticism fits. She does more than the majority of musicians these days.
It wasn't criticism. I'm a huge fan. I agree with everything that was said (including her stunning visual concepts) But, a part of her sound has to be credited to the producers who have worked on her songs. Even if she does all the melodies and lyrics, the producers created the music to fit around that melody..The style, shaping, texture of those sounds is thanks to them. Also their flair and production methods have led the songs direction. Plus, the songs are created from their sounds after all. The simple truth is, her sound cannot be 100% credited to JUST her.
Just like Doc Mckinney, Jeremy Rose and illangelo are credited in giving The Weeknd his signature sound, for example.
Again, this isn't criticism. Just truth, she's clearly talented and I'm a huge fan, but her sound isn't all her...also, there are some artists who do everything, they're just not mainstream.
I see what you're saying but 1)Not many if any do ALL of the work. Even if they do that doesn't mean they deserve the exposure. 2) The fact she received help with her debut does not negate the effort she made. 3) Who's saying Paul Epworth and Arca are NOT getting credit? It's pretty much the first thing mentioned in every article and 4) You'd have to be superhuman to compose, record, mix, film yourself, do the album art. Since when were musicians required to do more than make songs and arrangement (which she has done- look at Ouch Ouch and you'll understand how much she actually contributes to production)? The clue is in the name. Just cause she doesn't play an instrument live doesn't man she didn't arrange the accompaniment.
I agree with you, you're basically telling me what I already know and adding in things that I haven't said...
1) I haven't said anything about the fact she works with people take away her efforts. It doesn't.
2) The person who commented originally clearly didn't know she worked with other producers, So that's how they're not getting credit or mentioned.
3) Artists like JMSN, Tycho, Johnny Rain, Khordelia and Sohn all compose, record, produce, mix their own songs..and they all deserve the exposure and success. All amazingly talented artists. They also do their own artwork and visuals..so it seems like there are some 'Superhumans' out there that you speak of.
But anyway, I'm really not attacking or taking anything away from Twigs, I really like her and I can see you like her too, We're basically agreeing on the same things. So there's no need to talk about this anymore, lets just go and listen to Twigs and enjoy her music. I just received her LP1 vinyl so...good times :)

Like we do now ,when people in the 40's and 50's where wondering about what music people in the future would be listening to, and the small fraction of me that thinks how minutely alien every sound, note, movement and piece of jewelry is. Whenever i watch this girl i think of that, and saying "yup this right here". Big Aaliyah Janet Jackson Fan, No comparison just similar feels and its always special when an artist does that to you and you cant explain why you have to check every video and keep creepin back for more.

I've seen two live performances on youtube of this song and i just don't get why she'd perform this song when a lot of the words are swear words and she can't actually say them... Like it's the only song with them in it really. I would LOVE it if she performed Lights On live, that song is by far my favourite of the album.
