- Giethoorn or well known as Venice of the Netherlands, is a real life fairy tale like Village in the Netherlands. No cars inside the Village, just bicycles, pedestrian and Boats.

It is nice if you are passing by to enjoy the beautiful scenary. Usually living in places near water sooner or later you start to experience some health issues due to the excessive moisture in the air.

I live in the Netherlands and visited Giethoorn this summer. with my kayak.There is a big naturepark called"the Weerribben".A lot of water,birds and beautiful nature.A place where you can hear the sound of silence(I thought😂).Tourists from all over the world(in the summer)are yelling,screaming,they drop there garbage in peoples mailboxes,they climb over fences for taken pictures in peoples gardens while the owners of the house having lunch in their gardens,walk into peoples houses because they think it is a museum,playing loud music with soundbox is in their boats,smoking cannabis everywhere,fighting in bars and restaurants.I was in shock!In the afternoon I was in the middle of nowhere(Weerribben nature park) with my kayak,surrounded by birds,dragonflies little frogs and butterflies,and really everywhere i picked up plastic bags, bags of chips, soda cans from the water and the reeds.If you really want to enjoy Giethoorn and surroundings,dont go in the summer,it looks like a madhouse.This video is beautiful,I visited Giethoorn 2 weeks ago to see the real beauty of it and it looks the same as this video.Like a fairytale!

Thera are some carparkings just outside the village.People who live in the village have bikes or use a small cart to put there groseries in.

Only the center is not reachable by car other places in the village you can reach it. I can park the car next to my house and we do have roads. Otherpart nice video!

There are a few hotels,bed and breakfast and pension,a big Campingplace for tents and caravans.Even a small campingside for people with a kayak.
