Both Reiner and Historia tried to approach their parents only to end up rejected out of fear and despised them for existing.
I have never seen that scene where Reiner, Sasha, and Connie go to kill the boar (but I have seen the clip where Pixis tastes their dishes, in a Food War fashion).
Although he’s trying to protect his family, Reiner is a misguided fool as there’s no evidence that the marlylians will accept the good eldians who will become obsolete when weapons improve at fighting against titans. Therefore, the good eldians will most likely experience even worse discrimination. I also think the way they allowed Marco to die, defenseless is despicable and glad that Bertholt got eaten by Armin
