::NOTE:: I forgot to mention. Even with a lock, you won't get the Level 5 EEGS pipper until you are about 3,000 feet away from the target. So if you don't have a pipper yet, get closer until you see it pop up in between the + and - pippers.
thanks. did they change that somewhere in the past? 1.5 years ago i think it appeared at roughly 1 nm distance or so, or maybe 0.5nm. after not flying the f16 for some months, i definetly feld a change in the "o" pipper behavior. now sometimes i have to change my seat in the cockpit to barely see it in the hud, when in a turn with a bandit. was easier in the past.

I always aimed with the minus symbol.
Always scored a hit but may have been because it's just about every situation where i score a gun kill, the target is pulling near the peak to get away from me.
Never noticed the pipper, thanks for the awesome video !
Just keep in mind you won't get the pipper immediately, you have to keep lock and get closer.

I may as well add that being familiar with ideal gyro-calculated gun path also helps with planes that have them, including WW2 aircraft such as the P-47

How dp i return to it. If i loosr lock my fcr goea into slew mode and it doesn not lock anymore. Ive tried everything. Clicking dogfight mode, dogfight center, putting my cross while in acm slew mode but cant return to it unless i restart the mission

Sometimes i have the issue where i have a radar lock and i never see the level 5 pipper in time before the shot opportunity is gone

TMS switches will help lock a target. I do not recall the directions, but there's boresight area sweep lock, vertical sweep lock, no sweep lock, and one other I don't recall what it looks like. Works best in dogfight mode to use both AIM-9 and guns. Combining it with ECM is case by case
