Thank you! It's not uncommon for Europeans to speak 2 or more languages. I speak 4. I've learnt them in school as I was growing up, then practiced while I was traveling. Once you speak 2 languages it's easier to learn more. Saludos!
I suggest you to learn french, italian or portugese. For an Spanish speaker you'll pick it up real quick. The romantic languages are so similar.
There is even a language which is a mix of all of these called interlingua. Youll be surprised how easy its to understand even if its a mashup of different languages.

Im from Monterrey and 😂 finally someone realize the amount of gente mamona that lives here 😂😭,
Is it really that bad? I was looking to buy a property in Garza García, Nuevo León a beautiful looking area, but if the people are that snobby I might reconsider. I've been to the best areas in Cabo and never met a snob like that... especially from a Mexican descent.
@@RealRichardTalbot it depends if you are from US the culture is very similar, the only difference is that people from US is more approachable they would talk to you even if you are stranger, but in Monterrey a lot of people avoid interaction, (I’m from Monterrey and I live in Manhattan)
A lot of them come to live and shop here in San Antonio. They are super annoying to deal with as a worker. Their arrogance is on another level. I pretend to not know Spanish so I don’t have to deal with them 😆
@@RealRichardTalbot Comparing Cabo to San Pedro is quite silly. Cabo is a small city that basically exists due to tourism and expats. Monterrey is a huge commercial metropolis and SP is where the mexican elite live, people who own global corporations, banks and loads of real estate, and the top management that work there. San Pedro is to Monterrey sort of like the Hamptons is to New York. We're talking about the 1%. As a foreigner you might have enough money to live among the mexican aristocracy, but unless you're *truly* loaded a lot of them will look down upon you as some lowly pleb wannabe.
However that does not mean all people are like that. But if you go to San Pedro, you *will* meet those people.
And don't need to be rich to be “mamones”, they already have it in their soul.
I'm from Monterrey living in the UK (last 20 years). I loved this video because it's ALL TRUE. Monterrey people are funny like that. Particularly about cold weather and bread it's weird

Ahorita for me has always felt like a “I am getting to it, sooner if you rush me, later/never if you don’t” 😂
One of my friends recently told me that for her it means: "Cuando tenga las ganas" 😂

I’m from Guadalajara living in Monterrey and even in the same country it was a cultural shock as well the lack of manners and basic education
Mexico is soo diverse! North and south are like completely different countries
I’m from Chicago and lived in Monterrey for one year. The winter there is mild, but because in the middle-class neighborhood I live in the walls are all made of concrete with no insulation. It tends to keep the inside at a temperature that is much colder than in Chicago where we have heating and insulation.it was extremely uncomfortable for me inside the house during the winter.
@@RicardoHernandez-zl3ug I agree. We wore jackets inside once when we couldn't heat the space with air conditioning. It's not nice if you're used to heating
For me, "ahorita" means: let me finish my work, take a nap, go to the market, and after that, probably do that.
Sobre la gente si, es algo especial, se cuida mucho la imagen y donde vives, etc. pero como todo, tambien hay gente amable y desinteresada.

I am mexican from Monterrey, I understand and agree there are "mamones" and believe it's because Monterrey is such a big city, and a lot of people are sort of fighting for this "upper class" prestige and they feel like if they act snobby or use really expensive things etc...they get to belong to this so called "upper class". Another thing is that the US is really close (just 2 hours far) and it has influenced the city a lot, some people might see acting like americans or doing "american stuff" as something cool. Anyway, I have always have found my way of getting away from these type of people. For the rest, you can find very friendly and nice, warm people. By the other hand, we are indeed very indirect, but guess what, in southern Mexico it is even more indirect haha, only with lifetime friends we get to be really direct.
Yes, there are SO many nice and warm people, they definitely outnumber los "mamones"

Hi! The nicest is San Pedro, Chipinque, in Monterrey - San Jeronimo, Obispado
Carretera Nacional on the south part of the city is also a Nice area to live, I would say San Pedro and 2nd Carretera Nacional.
@@briseydabello2218 I never go south (except nature in Allende), so I'm not very familiar with that part of the city, but I've heard it's growing fast and that there are some very nice new places...
@@valentinasadak if you still live in Monterrey visit Pueblo Serena, is a shopping center with a super market, movie theater, nice church and lots of restaurants, I am pretty sure it won’t disappoint you. In the back of Pueblo Serena there are many nice neighborhoods you can drive around to meet.

Hmm, in the Latin culture (and especially in the Mexican culture), they give so much importance to parties.....So, "Baby Showers", Birthday parties, "Quinceañeras", Local and Regional Beauty Peagants, the "Day of Saint Y Celebration" (or Saint X Celebration, or Saint Z Celebration, etc, etc.) are legal traditions and used as excuses to justify parties and having fun (in many cases, all night long parties.) How can a sleepy person who has not sleep the night before go to work? I suppose because of this "partying till dawn tradition" there's a lot of absenteeism at work.

Um going to be honest with u im mexican and from Monterrey Mexico, the women and some men will treat u like ur not from there even if u are Mexican. It depends on how u speak the language. They will treat ubso different. But some men will treat u better than other men. Like I said if they hear how u speak and it's not like them then they will treat u differently.

On gente mamona:
A lot of people really don't realize what it means when they read that San Pedro Garza García is the wealthiest city in Latin America. It means that a *significant* percentage of the population is the 0.01% of Latin America. Lots of them are *old* money from 100 years ago, basically nobility. They act like they own you because their families literally own half the city real estate and major global corporations, the universities, banks, hospitals, shops... In fact I've seen tons of videos of foreigners in Monterrey and I've *never* actually seen them even get *close* to the neighborhoods where the *truly* rich live...
And of course that level of wealth also mints / attracts a lot of newly rich who have been climbing corporate ladders and hustling all their lives seeking their materialistic dreams... plus of course a lot of people of all sorts of economic levels come to the city with the dream of success and wealth, and so yeah... and if you consider that most of Mexico is in fact brutally poor... there's the reason they'll crank up the snobery and materialism to the max to flaunt their wealth and status.
On indirectness:
This is actually kind of funny because while it is a general "latin" trait, historically Regios were known to be brash and straighforward, and this is still partially true. If you go to the south of Mexico for a decent amount of time you will see what *REAL* indirectness actually is (and why many global companies prefer to establish their businesses north). But in last few decades the culture of Monterrey has changed a lot because of the city growing largely due to migration from other states, many from the south...
On babyshowers:
Yeah that's insane and that's another large cultural change in the city which is only a thing from the past... idk 10 years? This time from US influence. This madness of crazy weddings, baby showers, gender reveals and all these constant over-the-top events is the product of the wealthy (and wannabe wealthy) trying to act like splurging celebrities from LA or New York, encouraged by the greedy wedding planning industry that's happy to take all their money, and how social media has turned so many people superficial.

Todo lo que dices es correcto. Sin embargo causa demasiada risa para nosotros los regios, ya que la mayoría de todas esas realidades son absurdas. Osea que las costumbres van tomando rumbos que se van alejando de la lógica y todo mundo se queda conforme.
