HUGE MAKER'S CLEAN BOGO SALE: www.makersclean.com/products/large-space-kit
I am so excited for this but the bogo code did not work. I'm just wondering if this is an anomaly or if I should try again, thanks!
I should clarify the lgbogo code on the site did not work for me! Thanks again!
I ordered mine! I knew about the deal before I realized I had the email talking about it.
Been wanting to buy the mop for nearly a year and finally caved a few days ago, and had the "Complete Cleaning Bundle" in my cart for a few days and been debating on waiting for a summer sale. This new sale had made me pull the trigger finally. The cost was sadly factor for not pulling the trigger sooner. But I hate that I have a small stock of cheapo microfiber cloths that leave steaks or really doesn't hold that much liquid, etc.
Can't wait to fall in love with these items!
PS I bought the Mop bundle and 2 large space kits. I can't wait to try the mop out on the base boards, this is one reason why I really want the mop. I live in the desert so everything gets dusty quick. I also wish I bought the mop when it was on sale for $45. (over a year ago or so)
hey
I clean my oven racks in the dishwasher with my dishes. Just place it on the top of the dishes. Then I give it a little scrub if there is still some dirt left. It takes no effort since the dirt is loose from the dishwasher. Works wonders and no extra detergents or tools are needed.
Genius!
I was pretty stressed in my home because it wasn’t as clean as I wished it was. I didn’t know the right way to clean. I had a week off, watched about 50 of your videos. I’m am a cleaning newb, so it took an entire week, but now my home sparkles and smells like paradise. THANK YOU SO MUCH for providing such wonderful knowledge to people and doing it in a fun and entertaining way! You are AMAZING!
This is my first video. But after reading your comment, I'm going to check out more. 😊
This is a great tip for the oven racks! I'll have to give it a try. And yes, we use our oven to store all our cookies sheets and pizza pans. My kitchen is on the medium/small size and cabinet space is limited, so the oven has to double as storage. 😊
Yes our oven is part storage. My mom's is too and packed. Really like the dishwasher pods. I'm always ready for easy less scrubbing ways to clean. Thank you😊
Thank you for the tip!! I used your oven cleaning video first - the baking soda/detergent recipe was awesome! Did the racks in a tub with the dishwasher packs - worked amazing. I’m doing move out cleaning & these tips saved me! 🙏🏼
As usual, when I am planning a major cleaning job, I tune in to your channel to see what you recommend to do the job. I watched your video about how to clean the oven racks and was inspired to do as you suggested for my GE stove. Armed with all of your helpful information and I went downstairs to start the job. Well, to my surprise my oven is equipped with gray porcelain-coated oven racks, not the shiny silver-coloured oven racks, so my racks are left in the oven during the self-clean cycle!!!!! 4 hours later, both the oven and racks were perfectly clean. A wonderful surprise. Moral of the story - read the owner's manual and learn more about your appliances to plan the job! Thanks anyway.
I was so very excited how easy this was and how cleaned they came out!
Haha!
Yes to oven storage!👍🏻
My mom never did that when I was growing up, but when I moved out...well I didn't have as much storage.
It just sort of evolved and became a standard practice for me.
Luckily, I don't use my oven very often, so emptying it out to bake something isn't a frequent chore.
Did the dishwasher tabs method. Works better than Easy Off!
I found a similar method to the dishwasher tabs many years ago that works brilliantly. Fill up the laundry tub with hot water and add Napisan powder, or a similar product to soak nappies. The active ingredient is an oxygen bleach, sodium percarbonate. Works great to loosen the baked on grease, then after a few hours, just need a light scrub and they come out sparkling.
🙏🏻😊
Definitely use my oven for storage. There are items that won’t fit in the cupboards like cookie sheets and other miscellaneous things that are too big to store anywhere else.
Hi Mona how're you doing
Where're you from
I use the bottom drawer on my oven for frying pans I heard it was a warming drawer but I don't use it for that, got that from my mother it's what she used to do
There are many cultures where oven cooking isn't all that frequent. There is the occasional Thanksgiving turkey, but otherwise, it sits empty. Meanwhile, for storing something as big as a wok, it works perfectly! So it seems like it boils down to each person's needs and cultural habits.
So happy I came across this video because I need to clean my racks
Thank you so much ,always lovely to get your tips x🤗
Melissa I tried the dawn & used 3/4 cup and the hot water. Soaked all three of my racks overnight in the plastic tub & I couldn’t believe how quickly the gunk came off. I had to use our basement shower for this soaking method. It took longer to empty out the water, taking it outdoors to dispose of it, than it took to clean the racks off. The cooked on mess just wiped off with a scrubby sponge. Thank you for this simple, cost effective, no fumes method of making my oven so shiny clean. 😊
Wow, using your idea, I used 1& 1/2 cups of liquid dish washing liquid. Since I didn't have a plastic tub, I put the racks in my laundry sink sticking half out. After 3 hours, the HEAVY burned-on grease easily came off. I found a fingernail brush worked great to clean the hard to reach areas. After cleaning half, I put the dirty part of the 3 racks in the solution & added a pot of boiling water. In an hour, the dirt is already loosening up. I never respond to these videos, but your's made my racks like new. THANK YOU! :)
Love this because I bake a lot, thank you Melissa for always have the best tips. Have a great day.
Thanks for watching Lucero!
Thank you for cleaning tips idol @Melissa Maker ❤️❤️❤️
I will have to give the dishwasher tab method a try, my oven is in need of a good cleaning. And yes I use my oven for extra storage (my Grandma and Mom both did it)
I'm gonna try this. Thanks Melissa.
Hi Melissa, I have been in love with all your hacks, ideas and methods on cleaning. You are a great blessing to every household.
Thank you so much to you and Chad!!
I would greatly appreciate if you could do some videos on
1. Various sizes of beds and bed skirts to use or not to use, how to use and all.
2. What type of trash cans can be used for a small family, living in an apartment as I hate to use so much plastic besides hating the fact that the trash sits for couple days stinking the house (even if it is closed).
3. How to store raw onions and tomatoes when you cannot use it all and you cut it into half….
Atleast I am facing this issue where I cut the onion into half and wonder how to save it for next time use.
Thank you 🙏
Thanks. Can’t wait to try! Ps pretty sure I’ve been watching your videos since day one and have learned a lot !
My oven racks are shining like new! I've used other methods to soak racks, and this is by far the best way to clean them! I followed the instructions and for extra measure added some liquid soap detergent. I'm not sure I needed to but the stains that usually require some elbow grease came off instantly. I generally don't write comments after getting tips online, but all I have to say, the dishwashing pods did what no other cleaner could do!
Thanks for this updated video! Could you possibly do one for gas stove cast iron grates? Thanks!! 😄
Love this; going to try this. Definitely do not use my oven for storage. I use my oven all the time for cooking.
Nice experiments! Thanks for the cleaning ideas. Yes, I store my colanders in the oven 👩🍳
I use my oven to store pots, pans, baking trays and my sauce pans/lids go in the slide out cabinet beneath the oven. I will definitely try the dishwasher tab method, thanks!!
That's me. I use the stove oven as storage, LOL. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Tried it and it worked! I can't stop looking inside my oven, the racks look almost new! Oh, I used the dishwasher detergent and boiling water and let them soak for about 3 hrs.
We have inherited pots & pans plus the ones we've purchased ourselves, so we definitely use the oven as storage from time to time. Mainly just for 1 pretty large frying pan though.
I saw your original rack cleaning video years ago and have never gone back to the old way of doing it. It works great and is SO easy. Thanks so much.
Hello Katherina how're you doing today and your family hope they're all doing great
Awesome, thank you!
And I don’t store things in my oven but I know people that do☺️
Sounds good! Will try it!
I never store anything inside the oven. However, due to a lack of cupboard space, I do keep some saucepans on the top.
Thank you for the video!
One more thing, thank you for your efforts and knowledge. The trash can is looking good
Great video, simple and clear. I found a really cheap shallow plastic box in IKEA perfect for the rack and sides: SALMA 78X56 cm by 12cm deep. Perfect, as the rack sits flat.
Hi Melissa - I love watching your videos. Today I used your how to clean a self cleaning oven, how to clean oven racks and how to clean a microwave! Yes, my anxiety was going through the roof and I needed to channel it somehow. I searched your site for how to clean enamel drip pans and couldn’t find anything. I would love it if you had a easy peasy suggestion.
I am so glad my oven racks need this video 😅
My motivation is here♥️💃🏼
Thanks for watching!
Great tip. Thanks.
PLEASE do a video on how to clean gas stove burners & burner tops. TY!
Dishwasher tabs are the best! They clean so many things so easily. I’ve used this a couple times to clean oven racks while running a self clean cycle. Edit. Soaking my racks with two finish quantum packs and running a self clean cycle!!
I think everyone should have a 3 hour lunch! Thanks for video :)
I put my skillets and cookie sheets in my oven. Thanks for the cleaning tips
Thanks, Melissa. Nice tip. Its seems the older I get, the less concerned I've been about the state of my oven racks......so, they're in quite a state. Now that I think about it...my grandmother used her oven to store her cast iron cookware....as did my mother....then me. Seems to have been a family tradition.
Somehow they just don't seem to fit anywhere else.
Hi thanks for the oven rack cleaning tips, I have used your previous method of soaking overnight in laundry detergent, so I will try dishwasher tabs next time. I only store my baking stone in my oven as it doesn’t fit in my cupboard very well. 😀
Hi Tina how're you doing
No I don't use my actual oven for storage but having an electric stove, I do use the bottom tray for cookie sheets. I'm definitely gonna try the dishwasher tabs cause mine need a good cleaning!
Love you videos!💙
Nice video!! I will try this soon :) thank you again for sharing… subscribed to your channel 😀❤️
Yes. My oven is storage. For large cast iron pans and Dutch ovens
Thanks for another awesome cleaning video! Will this method work well with grill grates as well?
I’ve always used my oven as storage. All my baking sheets, baking pans, cake and pie dishes all go in the oven. If I use it in the oven it’s stored in the oven. (And if I wanna hide my Oreos from the rest of the family they’re going in the oven too! Lol)
You are genius. In less than 3 hours my racks look great. I dissolved 4 tablets in boiling water because I was soaking the racks in a bath tub. All I had to do was rub the racks with my hand and all the baked on gunk came right off. Thanks so much for this tip
I use the lower oven mostly for storing a few odd shaped pans! The upper, smaller oven is my work horse.
My building had a mice problem last fall, so I stashed food that I couldn’t put in the fridge in the oven! Other than that, I don’t use it for storage. I’ve tried it and I always end up preheating the oven when it’s full of pans!
Yes from time to time I use oven off storage esp being in a small apt with only a few cupboards.
Awesome!
We also use the over as storage for the baking tins etc.
I use my oven for storage. My oven doesn't get used very often since we have a toaster oven. The toaster over gets used year-round. Our oven mostly at Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and Easter, but that's about it. The rest of the time it's used for storage. Thank you for your tips. I never thought to use dishwasher pods to clean the oven racks.
Yes I use my oven for storage too
Absolutely love your cleaning routine and tips! Thank you!!! I purchased four of your downloads for further guidance. I am having problems with two of them not downloading. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Even if it is whom to contact for assistance! Again, love your methods!
I thought it was "normal" to store baking trays in the oven?! 😂🤷🏻♀️
@cleanmyspace you know how I love to clean my oven racks? Hot water and Lectric Soda powder (granulated like white sugar) I use it as a laundry booster too! And in my DIY all purpose cleaner.
Just like Melissa loves bicarb soda, I love this product!
Not sure if it's available in Canada though? About $4AUD for 1kg here in Aus. It's sodium carbonate, so you'd have something similar.
*Lectric Soda, not a typo...love it!
I’ve never used my oven for storage but I had a tenant who did. She left a few nice skillets! I knew three generations of women in one family who all used their dishwashers for storage.
Nice idea. I normally get an old towel, put it on my kitchen table and spray the rack with oven cleaner; then spray it off in the shower.
I’ve never even considered storing anything in my oven lol. I use it too much and taking whatever is in there out to use it would probably annoy me but I get it. It’s like a really big (sometimes hot) cabinet!
My oven is storage for me!!! Even my Mom used to do this and several of my family members.
I hate using my oven as storage, but when I lived in a tiny apartment with very little storage space, my oven did indeed become an extra “cupboard”
Use just one dishwasher pod and less water if you can find a container that is wide enough to fit the racks flat (or use a bag) to keep the cost down. Thanks for another great cleaning tip!!
Can't put boiling water in trash bag
@marissabrueshaber5317 The boiling water is for dissolving the pods, warm water is sufficient for soaking the racks. You can use just a few cups of boiling water to dissolve the pods separately, then mix with warm water and put in a bag (if using). It would be so much easier to find a container that would fit the oven racks (laying flat).
request - can you show how to clean the toilet plunger and cleaning brush? (I don't mean the air dry thing... but how to clean it periodically..). Thanks!!
She has this video that shows how to clean a plunger czcams.com/video/VaFv1867kUY/video.html and this one for toilet brushes czcams.com/video/z6uRdFubU_A/video.html
@@shinytoycar thank you
What a coincidence. I was actually considering doing this today.
Yes our oven also store
Good work Mel……here i go!
Love this idea. Trying to find a bin to fit the oven racks. Can you advise which bin you used. The size and where I can buy it. I do store oven pans in the bottom storage drawer.
Melissa where did you purchase the bin u used for the oven racks?
I live in the UK and soak my oven trays in BioTex Stain Remover dissolved in hot water which works really well too. I think you can get this product in USA but not sure about Canada.
My grandma stored her pies in the oven, and it works:). I will store pans that are needing to dry after washing in the oven.
The first one looks so easy!!! Also where are your black and leopard sandals from?! Those are so cute!!!!
It looks like your plastic bin doesn't quite fit the oven rack. I use a 26" x 18" baking bun pan I bought at a restaurant supply store. It fits oven racks perfectly. Because the bun pans are shallow, you don't need much water. Place the oven rack in the bun pan and add about 1/2" boiling water and a dishwasher tab. After a few hours or overnight, take out the oven rack and scrub over the kitchen sink until clean. Then just pour out the water from the bun pan into the sink.
Our family had a stand alone gas oven with a grill above the burners. I was told to never use the grill as it was for storing plates only!
Yes ma'am! I don't have a dishwasher and there is generally dishes in the sink when company is over at times. The oven is useful to hide some if I don't need it to cook anything!😉
It looks like a Gorilla cart !
I live in a apartment with very little storage space so yes I use my oven for storage
We have a double oven. one is smaller so the big one is used for storage. plus side, I always know where the cookie sheets are
Yes I use my oven to store pans
I have a double oven and one is used for food storage of bulkier bagged items
Yes I store in the oven sometimes (Lazy).
What about putting racks in the dishwasher???
I'm gonna try it...
Thanks for another great video, and yes I use my oven to store my Instant pot duo!
Please try scouring sticks! These are cheapie pumice stones sold in the cleaning section. They are super fast & effective. No soaking necessary!
Great video with tips for a chore that I always dread. Makes it seem way more doable now, so thank you! Side note: are you a Newfoundlander?
I am not a Newfoundlander! But I am a proud Canadian, so maybe some heritage there? Who knows? Thanks for watching, Melissa.
I definetly use oven for storage :)
I needed this as I just moved into a new place, I looked in the oven and it looks like solidified red drops have been dripping from the racks.
Makes me nauseous just thinking about it.
Need to find a bin large enough now.
Laundry detergent with enzymes works well too.
Would using Cascade dishwashing powder give the same results? Thanks
I've done it a time or two. Even used the dishwasher to hide stuff.
Are the dishwasher tablets ok to use in the bathtub? I don't have a big bin to use just wondering if it will affect the tub 🤔 it's a common tub material like plasticky
How do you use bàking soda and dish soap for the inside of the oven please thank you
Had to change my double oven so got a top of the range one. Kept the small oven for storage and used the larger one. Met someone who did the same thing but in reverse! Haven't used the ultra high heat self cleaning cycle yet but its coming!
I was very excited to try this on my dirty oven racks. Unfortunately it didn't take off ANY of the black on the grills. All 3 racks look exactly how I put them in the water 4 hrs later. I followed the directions exactly!
How long since they have been cleaned? If it has been some time, you may have to try again!
My mom and dad have always used the oven as bread storrage.
Would this work for cookie sheet
Oxi-Clean works great on all oven surfaces.
