Why are people still arguing against battery swap? NIO have done over 48 million battery swaps. I am not sure the data backs up Huawei's thoughts.

Bigger batteries just mean longer lines at the super outdated charging pilons for other EVs. That's a much much larger problem than Nio adding these batteries to their swap stations. And again, most people don't have charging at home, so they NEED to use any charging station they can find

does not matter what battery you have , majority of charging companies infra are limitting speed and % you can charge at all over the world and specially in usa , electrfiy amecas is the largrt charing inra in usa after tesla and their next charging statins will be limited to 85 % .. in cali you have times and days that limit you from using super charges , the more ppl buy and own EV globally the more theyll need to have these limits policies that can check battery health checks.. auto notifcation tech that has bad batteries repaired and replaced ... dont forget about power grid that maintains the output thru out those peak times ... and its not hard to replace batteries inside the power station .. lol they thought this trhu years in adv before you thought what pants to wear this morning , battery swaps is best possible tech even added to EV .. and its coming from ev owner that had few diff EV since 2019 charging at home few of my friends almost burned their house down .... charging on the road crazy unrealble and takes time gives you range exnx... BAAS is the only way to go not to mentioned the 10k usd you save short term is also a huge plus .. take that and let it sync in .
What is the problem with old/new tech? They just put old and new batteries into the same swap station. Yes, adaptation might be needed but it's not impossible. When a new battery tech is being rolled out, there will be only a few of the new batteries in a swap station and with time, there will be only a few of the old batteries available. On the other hand I could even imagine that NIOs could be retrofittet to accept new battery tech or batteries could be constructed to work with both, 400 and 800 Volt cars. This already exists on the market by the way.

I ❤ nio,this storing of diffirent batteries has me worried, feel they have messed up there? Easy to say build out more swap stations but they are expensive and obviously huge, should have been one standard battery with lockable usage. Sounds like a no brainier? Its one thing to go the long road and build the company the right way, this feel likes like a huge slow hurdle to overcome
Seeing kia and bunch of other companies already selling nio look alike rip of cars, by the time we get around to it,we might be old news
NIO tech is obviously much much better. There’s always going to be upgrade issues, and the swap actually provides another option. But Huawei is always going to whine and say crap because they’re in competition. But common sense shows NIos mode is much better.
Plus, Huawei is going to seriously struggle cracking western markets. Ever. They’ve pi$$ed off a lot of govs with their coms tech that was clearly shown to have security issues. NIO has an opportunity to score big here.
Huawei owns 5g and 6g patent. Huawei phones are truly groundbreaking.

How dumb can Nio be to antagonise Huawei. The latter has a very valid point as swap stations would constantly need to upgrade their batteries with launches of new models which means more cash burn. Changing out the batteries in a few swap stations is no big deal, but can you imagine changing that for thousands of swap stations? Investors will continue to be suckers and they are paying the price for William Li's stupidity. This is a rabbit shithole that Elon Musk saw a long time ago, which is why he is not into battery swap. Nio should be in the business of selling cars and not focus on swap stations, preserving cars for a long time is a no no for any car business as fewer owners will see the need to change cars if their cars last beyond the standard lifespan. Do car companies make more money selling cars or baas? Companies like Li Auto and BYD have shown that selling cars is the way to profitability, not selling battery swap!
